Chapter 18 Rabbit

After returning home, Grandma Gu handed the six little rabbits to Gu Daya and Gu Meng, saying, "These rabbits are for you two sisters to raise from now on. When they grow up, you can use their fur to make clothes."

Gu Meng and Gu Daya were overjoyed when they heard this, because they would each get three rabbit skins from now on.

Grandma Gu was processing the rabbit, while Gu Yihan was cleaning the wild vegetables herself, removing the roots and yellow leaves. Looking at the wild vegetables that Grandma Gu and the others had dug up, cleaning them was quite a hassle.

After Gu Meng and Gu Daya finished taking care of the little rabbits, they sat down to clean the wild vegetables.

Gu Yihan thought to herself, "See?" This is why she tries every possible way to appease Grandma Gu every day.

On the other side, in the production team's field, Gu Aidang got tired of carrying water and decided to quit and go home.

Widow Zhao swayed her hips as she walked up to Gu Aidang: "Aidang, when are you going to marry me?"

Gu Aidang was startled: "When did I say I wanted to marry you?"

"When you were with me, you said you'd marry me after your divorce," Widow Zhao said ambiguously, before reaching for Gu Aidang's clothes.

Gu Aidang immediately stepped aside and sneered, "You've been with so many men, and every single one of them married you. How could you possibly marry them all?"

"Stay away from me, or you'll ruin my reputation."

Widow Zhao feigned disbelief and said, "I only have one lover. You can't just sleep with him and then deny it, can you?"

Gu Aitang clicked his tongue and said, "Isn't Gu Laizi going to your house? It would be good if you married him; he's still a young man."

Widow Zhao was surprised that Gu Aitang knew that Gu Laizi had come to see her.

Gu Aidang was also worried that Widow Zhao would harass him.

"It's time to go home for dinner." After saying that, he walked past Widow Zhao and went back home.

Widow Zhao angrily shouted at the other person's retreating back, "Pah! Taking advantage of me for nothing!" and swayed away.

"You flatterer, all you do is try to make me happy. Come on, let's see how the rabbit stew I made tastes." Grandma Gu happily pulled her granddaughter and strode towards the kitchen.

Gu Yihan took a piece of rabbit meat and held it to her grandmother's mouth: "Grandma, you work the hardest. Here, this first piece of rabbit meat is for you. Come on, let your granddaughter feed you."

Grandma Gu couldn't bear to refuse her granddaughter's filial piety, so she ate the rabbit meat.

Gu Yihan couldn't wait to eat a piece of rabbit meat herself, and she had to admit, it was incredibly delicious.

Grandma Gu gave her a thumbs-up, and this time she understood.

Grandma Gu gently patted her granddaughter and scolded her with a smile, "You little rascal."

After the grandmother and grandson finished eating, Gu Aidang said anxiously, "Mother, you can't be biased! I want to eat too!"

Grandma Gu said proudly, "Hanhan smoked them on the mountain. There are four big ones and six small ones. That's enough to eat for several days. You're all lucky to have my little granddaughter."

Uncle Gu was a quiet and unassuming man; he sat down without saying a word.

Gu Hao, who has a good relationship with Gu Yihan, jokingly said, "Then if I eat more rabbit meat, I can get more of my cousin's good fortune."

Hearing what Gu Hao said, they all laughed and agreed, eagerly picking up pieces of rabbit meat. The family members were not polite to each other, afraid that others might eat too much.
