Gu Yihan noticed that Hu Shan's face was pale and her lips were completely bloodless.

A hint of worry flashed in her eyes as she said, "How could Cheng Bo let you do the laundry?"

She glanced at the porcelain basin; most of the clothes inside were men's clothes, and she knew without asking whose they were.

Upon hearing this, Hu Shan smiled slightly, said nothing, picked up the basin from the sink, and casually placed it on the ground.

He wiped his hands clean with his apron, took Gu Yihan's arm, and greeted the aunt behind him with a smile, "Auntie, we're going back now."

There was only a square table and two long benches in the center of the bedroom.

There wasn't even a wooden coffee table or sofa; it was terribly shabby.

Looking up, he saw Hu Shan walking over with an enamel mug, and immediately stood up and took the mug with both hands.

"Cheng Bo is riding the bicycle at home."

"As for the radio, his cousin from his hometown borrowed it."

"But Cheng Bo actually believed her flawed lies."

"He scolded me, saying I couldn't protect my own child and that I was jealous of his cousin's good health and ability to have children."

As she spoke, tears of grievance streamed down Hu Shan's face.

When Gu Yihan heard Hu Shan say that Cheng Bo's cousin was spitting on the ground, she couldn't sit still and felt that the floor tiles under her feet were dirty.

She glanced at Hu Shan and saw her crying with tears and snot streaming down her face, so she forced herself to sit down again.

She opened her mouth and tentatively asked, "Sister Shan, is she really Cheng Bo's cousin?"

Hu Shan wiped away her tears, turned her head to look at Gu Yihan, and choked out, "Of course it's true, how could it be false?"

"If she weren't Cheng Bo's cousin, who would put up with her!"

Gu Yihan was furious. This guy was practically taking advantage of her, and she was still putting up with him for Cheng Bo's sake? Was he out of his mind?

Gu Yihan let out a breath, but still couldn't help asking, "Is it possible that she's pregnant with Cheng Bo's child?"

Upon hearing this, Hu Shan stared blankly at Gu Yihan for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"Xiao Han, you have too much of an imagination. They are related by blood, how could they possibly have a child?"

"Besides, Cheng Bo's cousin was married before, otherwise where would the child in her belly come from?"

Hu Shan wasn't angry that Gu Yihan was talking about Cheng Bo behind his back; she just thought Gu Yihan was imaginative and prone to overthinking.

Seeing that Hu Shan didn't believe her, Gu Yihan changed the subject: "Sister Shan, why didn't you go back to the provincial capital with your parents?"

Upon hearing this, Hu Shan's smiling face instantly turned cold: "When my parents came to Kunming, they said they were worried about my health and forced me to go to the hospital for surgery."

“I listened to them and obediently went to the hospital to have an abortion.”

Gu Yihan glanced at Hu Shan and said with a smile, "Isn't this exactly what you wanted?"

After a long pause, Hu Shan finally spoke: "They even forced me to divorce Cheng Bo, saying that he only married me to take advantage of me."

Gu Yihan lowered her head and remained silent. She had said everything she should and shouldn't have said today, and there was nothing she could do if Hu Shan didn't believe her.

She glanced at the time; it was almost noon. She stood up, smiled, and said goodbye to Hu Shan.

"Xiao Han, why don't you stay for lunch?"

Gu Yihan smiled at Hu Shan and declined, saying, "Sister Shan, my children are waiting for me at home."

After saying that, he pushed Hu Shan inside, not letting her come out to see him off, and then turned and left pushing his bicycle.

Qin Shou went outside to get water and saw Gu Yihan's back.

Thinking she had misread it, she quickly walked to the door and asked the aunt who had just spoken to Gu Yihan, "Auntie, who was that woman looking for in our courtyard?"
