With the yard matter settled and the rent paid, Bonnie felt much more relaxed.

It wasn't in vain that I spent these ten days or so with several children.

Next, just wait for the time to come and plant the cabbages, radishes, and other vegetables.

The weather was nice today. Bonnie stretched. Liu Jiu and San Qi weren't there; Gu Ye had gone to work.

Bonnie washed up and found breakfast in the kitchen. That's great! The child is all grown up; it's so thoughtful of her!

After Bonnie finished tidying up the house, a series of footsteps echoed in the hallway; the children had returned.

Bonnie opened the door, and Gu Xuanhao was taken aback for a moment. "Second Aunt, how did you know we were back?"

"The sound of your footsteps is so loud it's almost resonating, how could I not hear them?"

Bonnie touched the little guy's head; it was covered in sweat.

"Second Aunt".

"Xuanyu, you guys have started your vacation too?"

When Bonnie heard the voice, she finally saw Gu Xuanyi at the very back, a young man of seventeen or eighteen.

"They started yesterday. I went out to play with my classmates all day." Gu Xuanyu knew that his second aunt had been busy taking care of the younger children, which was quite interesting.

"Mom, what are we going to do next?"

Liu Jiu wondered if her mother would arrange something else.

"After planting the vegetables in a couple of days, everything will be fine."

Bonnie brought out some fruit; she had seen it being sold yesterday and bought some.

"Oh dear, I can't eat lychees or mangoes anymore!"

Sanqi looked at the plums and apricots in the fruit plate.

"We're lucky to have any food at all, what more could we ask for?" Bonnie slapped the brat.

"What does that mean?" Sanqi didn't understand.

"This is boring. Wash your hands and cool off for a while."

Bonnie just blurted it out; there's no way to explain it.

In the afternoon, Bonnie and Gu Xuanyu took several children swimming.

"Second Aunt, I can't swim, but I want to learn."

Seeing his older siblings swimming happily, Gu Xuanhao was unhappy about putting on a swimming ring himself.

"Alright, your second aunt will teach you, it's very easy."

Bonnie used to be a diving instructor; it's a waste of her talents to teach a child to swim.

I don't know if it's because Bonnie taught him well, or if Gu Xuanhao has this talent, but in less than an afternoon, he was able to swim by himself.

"Alright, let's go home. If you want to swim again, come back another day."

Bonnie glanced at the sky; it was getting late, time to go home.

Gu Xuanyu took the boys to change clothes, while Bao Ni and Liu Jiu went to the women's bathroom.

When they arrived at the compound, Bonnie walked in front, followed by five children. It was quite a sight, to be honest.

If there are people I know, I'll say hello and exchange a few words.

We're having hand-pulled noodles for dinner, and this is Bonnie's main battleground, so she went to knead the dough.

It was only during dinner that Bonnie understood the immediate feeling of a half-grown boy eating his father out of house and home.

Five children, what a appetite! The "three scorched earth" policy left them with nothing.

"Looks like your sister-in-law didn't give you enough food stamps!"

Gu Ye looked at the line of children leaving and teased Bao Ni.

"I'm planning to go to the surrounding suburbs to buy some food. The amount on the food ration book is simply not enough. There are four of us in the family, and apart from Sanqi, who isn't a big eater?"

Gu Ye thought about it and realized that Liu Jiu's appetite was not much smaller than his.

While Bonnie and Gu Ye were talking about buying food at home, people in another residential compound were also talking about them.

"Hao Mei, I saw your sister-in-law today."

"Who? Oh, you mean Bonnie? Where did you see her?"

Hao Mei took a moment to realize that she was talking about Bonnie.

"She's at the swimming pool with several kids. Your sister-in-law is really good; she can swim too, and she teaches the kids to swim very well. The little one is a bit younger than your eldest son."

The woman speaking had a good relationship with Hao Mei; she had seen Bao Ni before and remembered her.

"Ah! That must be my sister-in-law's brother's child."

Hao Mei was surprised that Bao Ni was also taking care of their child.

After talking for a while, the two went home separately.

Hao Mei felt a little uncomfortable. Her sister-in-law was looking after other people's children, but she didn't even offer to look after their children. After all, her two children were her own nephews, and they were surnamed Lin, weren't they?

Before going to bed that night, Hao Mei couldn't help but tell Lin Tao about it.

"I heard from my downstairs neighbor today that Bonnie took several kids to the swimming pool. What do you think, should we send our two kids to Bonnie's house and have her help look after them?"

After listening for a while, Lin Tao finally understood that his wife was waiting for him there.

“How can Bonnie take care of the child? The child isn’t familiar with her aunt, and Bonnie has her own life. How can she take care of our child?”

Hao Mei felt that if Bao Ni helped her take care of the child, her life would be easier.

Lin Tao knew his younger sister well; she was someone who wouldn't tolerate any wrongdoing. She'd even beat her older brother if he acted out. He didn't have that much influence with Bao Ni.

Hao Mei mumbled something and lay down to sleep.

The next day, Hao Mei rested and took her two children to Bonnie's house.

"Second sister-in-law, what brings you so much free time?"

After Bonnie moved in, her second sister-in-law came once, apparently because she was busy with work.

"I'm off today, so I brought the kids over to spend some time with you. Come on, call her Auntie."
