A large table was filled with people, more than a dozen members of the Gu family spanning four generations. On the surface, they appeared to be getting along well, but in reality, everyone had their own thoughts and plans.

Gu Ye ignored him and gave the other duck leg to Gu Xuanyi.

"Wow, all my duck legs are gone! I'm not eating anymore!" The thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy burst into tears because of a duck leg.

Gu Ye glanced at his father with disdain, raised an eyebrow, and thought to himself, "This is the good son you've spoiled. You're in for a world of hurt."

Gu's father also saw Gu Ye's defiant look and, losing face, slapped Gu Bei. "How old are you? Still crying over a duck leg? What kind of behavior is this? If you're not going to eat it, get down here. What are you doing in front of Grandpa? Don't you have any manners?"

When Xu Fang saw that Gu's father was really angry, she put down her chopsticks and pulled Gu Bei off the table to the kitchen.

Xu Fang had three children, but this was her only son. They were twins, a boy and a girl, and she doted on him very much.

Liu Jiu heard the crying, looked up, then lowered her head to eat her meal. The food smelled so good!

Grandpa Gu was helpless against Grandma Gu's favoritism; he had told her countless times, but the old woman just wouldn't change. For some reason, she simply disliked Gu Ye, and consequently, she also disliked Gu Ye's wife and daughter.
