Chapter 6 Catching Human Traffickers on the Train

Qiao Yu arrived at the train station in the morning, but the train to Shanxi Province wouldn't depart until the afternoon.

She waited at the train station, joking with passersby and gathering information along the way.

Very few people from this area go to mountainous provinces; if they do, it's usually because they were sent to the countryside as educated youth.

They usually come in a group, with someone leading the group.

The main characteristic is that they are all young people, and they look timid.

Qiao Yu decided that this would be her persona!

An ignorant teenager about to go to a rural area in another city.

After all, she was a girl going out alone, and even if she was very strong in combat, she didn't want to cause trouble for herself.

It wasn't until the afternoon that I saw a group of young people gathering on the train station platform.

She walked over and mingled in the group, since everyone was a stranger to each other anyway.

The leader was a young man who didn't have a list; he was just assigning these people to their respective teams.

"Those going to Guangdong Province are on platform one, those going to Jiangsu Province are on platform three, and those going to Shandong Province are waiting here."

Qiao Yu stood still and followed them in line to board the train.

Then the leader said, "Everyone, this train is going to Shanxi Province. We won't arrive until tomorrow morning. Please be careful tonight."

Qiao Yu felt even more at ease when no one called her name or asked her to introduce herself.

She didn't want to be discovered if she mingled among them, so she sat far away from them.

There weren't many people on this train, probably because this place is too far from the mountain province, so very few people go there.

She sat there from afternoon until evening, and only two people got into the seat opposite her.

It was a mother and son; the mother was a young woman, and the child was a five- or six-year-old boy.

Judging from the child's clothing, this family must be well-off.

Qiao Yu really likes children. When she saw the child staring at her, she made a face at him.

The child laughed in a sweet, childish voice, and the child's mother nodded and smiled at Qiao Yu.

When it was time to eat, the child's mother took out the dry food she had prepared and planned to share some with Qiao Yu.

Qiao Yu didn't stand on ceremony; she had never tried this kind of pancake before and was quite interested.

She took it and took out the steamed buns she had bought that morning from her bag, which she actually kept in her spatial storage.

It's still a little warm.

Qiao Yu gave two steamed buns to the mother in exchange.

With things going back and forth, and Qiao Yu being a social butterfly, they started chatting like that.

The child's name is Niu Niu. They went back to their maternal grandmother's house to visit relatives and were on their way home.

His home happened to be in Shanxi Province, so he traveled the same way as Qiao Yu.

We chatted all the way, then slept again that night, and the next day we were almost at Shanxi Province.

Qiao Yu's back was aching from sitting so long, so she decided to stand by the car door for a while.

I went to the restroom and was standing by the car door looking at the scenery when I saw a middle-aged woman carrying a sleeping child walk by.

Qiao Yu frowned. She had originally planned to stay quietly until she got off the bus, but it seemed that trouble was unavoidable.

She followed her and discovered that the woman had accomplices.

He was a fierce-looking man, and the two of them were sitting together.

The baby remained unconscious in her arms.

As the train was about to arrive at the station, Qiao Yu walked straight over.

"Hey, give me the child."

The woman tightened her grip. "Girl, what are you doing? This is my son."

The man stood up, his face menacing. "You want to steal my son?"

People around looked over and criticized Qiao Yu.

Qiao Yu shook her head. "I didn't want to do it, but you forced me to, you damned human traffickers."

Upon hearing the words "human traffickers," the two people in front of them panicked. The woman spoke.

"Girl, don't talk nonsense,"

Qiao Yu was too lazy to argue with them anymore. "You asked for it!"

They immediately threw the man out, and he slammed him to the ground.

He grabbed the woman again, snatched the child from her, and punched her.

Both of them fainted.

The matter was resolved so quickly that those around them couldn't react in time.

Qiao Yu held the child, anxiously trying to see how things were going. She frowned as she looked at the person next to her.

"What are you still standing there for? Go call the train police!"

"Oh, oh, right."

Soon, the train police were called over, and Qiao Yu pointed at the two people.

"Hey, arrest these two human traffickers. And find a doctor to check on the child."

The train police officers were all dumbfounded, but they had no choice but to do as she said.

Just then, the train arrived at the station, and Qiao Yu, carrying the child, got off the train with them and went to the police station.

There is a doctor at the train station who examined the child and found that he had inhaled only a small amount of the drug. He said the child would be fine once he woke up on his own.

Qiao Yu dared not let go of the child and held him in her arms the whole time.

When they arrived at the police station, a woman with disheveled hair and tears streaming down her face rushed towards them.

“Niu Niu, my Niu Niu.”

That's right, this child is Niu Niu, whom Qiao Yu met on the train.

Qiao Yu recognized the clothes and shoes of the child in the trafficker's arms as being exactly the same as Niu Niu's, which is why she followed them.

The woman's name was Dingxiang. She had only gone to the restroom and asked Niu Niu to wait for her at the door. In just two minutes, the child disappeared.

At that moment, she was completely frantic, searching everywhere for her child.

A short while later, the train police came over and told her that they had found the child and asked her to get off the train and go to the police station.

Holding her newborn ox, Dingxiang almost kowtowed to Qiao Yu in gratitude.

Qiao Yu quickly stepped aside, "No, Sister Dingxiang, there's no need to kowtow. Since I recognized Niu Niu, I'm definitely going to help. Even if it wasn't Niu Niu, but another child, I would still help if I knew they were human traffickers."
