Bai Lu opens her eyes to find herself transported into the role of a little wife to a powerful CEO.

During their first meeting, despite being over forty years old, the man still managed to ap...

Chapter Six: Let Her Go

Instead of Bai Lu, who used to bow her head whenever she saw him.

"I don't need your help," Xiao Cheng coldly refused.

He's so heartless!

Bai Lu covered her mouth to suppress a laugh, lamenting that she had missed out on a free nanny, when she caught a glimpse of a furtive figure loitering near her door, looking around suspiciously.

A moment later, the figure nimbly scaled the stone wall and darted into the front yard.

Could it be a thief?

Bai Lu took a wooden stick, about the thickness of a forearm and the length of an arm, from Wang Cuihua's house and walked home quietly.

I left in a hurry and didn't lock the gate.

With a gentle push, the door opened a crack about an inch wide, allowing a general view inside.

The lights in the main house were still on, their dim light illuminating the broken water vat in the yard. The scallions were bent over by the wind. The yard was empty, and there was no one in sight.

The light in her room flickered.

She walked over but heard no sound. Bai Lu pushed the door open forcefully and swung her stick behind it.

"ah--"

Liu Guanggun, who was hiding against the wall, was hit on the back with a stick. He jumped up in pain and turned around to see Bai Lu. His eyes lit up. Ignoring the pain, he immediately pulled out a rope and pounced on her, snatched her wooden stick, and forcibly tied her up.

However, Bai Lu was too cunning and dodged the blows several times, even managing to hit him twice on the back of the leg.

Bailu ate two bowls of rice that evening, regained her strength, and fought without holding back.

Liu Guanggun was over forty years old. He was lazy, unemployed, and spent his days stealing chickens and dogs, harassing respectable women, and verbally abusing pretty young girls in town. He was so thin that he was skin and bones, like a dark-skinned monkey, and he couldn't stand up after being hit twice.

Stumbling and staggering, he ran into the yard, bumped into the broken water vat where ginger was planted, and fell to the ground.

It looked like Bailu was about to hit him with a stick.

Suddenly, a burlap sack was put over Bailu's head from behind, and she was dragged backward.

The wooden stick was also snatched away and thrown far away.

"Bai Lu, Bai Lu, let's see where you run this time!" Liu Guanggun got up from the ground. "You don't respond when I call you usually, but I'll make sure you don't have to call me later! Hahaha, Ahui, carry her to my bed."

Ahui is Liu Guanggun's cousin.

Upon hearing this, his beady eyes narrowed, and a lewd and obscene smile appeared on his pockmarked face.

Bai Lu was fair-skinned and delicate, with skin as smooth and tender as a peeled egg. She was the town's recognized beauty. If it weren't for their fear of Xiao Cheng, who had been spending most of his time in the city, they would have made their move long ago.

Unable to break free from the two men, Bai Lu had no choice but to come up with another plan: "Let me go! Xiao Cheng is back. Believe me or not, he'll break your legs."

"Who are you trying to fool?"

Liu Guanggun freed his right hand and touched Bai Lu's hand, grinning mischievously as he told her, "Xiao Cheng went to the neighboring city to collect debts. You still think he'll come back to save you? Dream on! I heard the neighboring city is cracking down on gambling recently, and all those casinos are in bad shape. Maybe Xiao Cheng is collecting debts at some casino right now, running into the cops, and getting arrested and stuck in jail!"

"It'll definitely take three to five months for him to get out. You're waiting for Xiao Cheng to come and save you, but he's waiting for you to come and save him too!" Ahui chimed in, adding insult to injury.

No sooner had he finished speaking than his buttocks were stabbed three times by something sharp, causing him to shudder in pain.

Liu Guanggun was also stabbed in the back.

The two turned around and saw that the short Xiao Wei was holding a large three-pronged rake.

They poked and poked them all over their bodies.

"Let her go!"

While watching the play, Xiao Wei was about to boast to Bai Lu that his older brother and Widow Wang really had no relationship.

When he turned around, Bai Lu was gone. Instead, two figures were pulling a burlap sack out from the front door.

"You brat, get out of here!" Ah Hui snatched Xiao Wei's three-pronged rake and kicked him hard.

They kicked him to the ground and he rolled several times.

The next second, he was sent flying.

The figure that followed him half a step down was Liu Guanggun.

The two men were seeing stars, convulsing, and clutching their chests, which were in so much pain they were almost fainting from the possible broken ribs, when they were grabbed by the collar and brutally beaten.

When Ahui fell to the ground again, his face was bruised and swollen, and several bloody teeth fell out.

Who...who the hell is this?

They attacked with such brutality... that they were completely powerless to fight back!

When Bai Lu lifted the sack, she saw that the skinny Liu Guanggun was lying on the ground at the gate of the courtyard like a dead dog, his face being stepped on and crushed by a foot.

He has a pit under his face, and every time it's pressed down, red and yellow fluid splashes everywhere.

The screams, like those of a pig being slaughtered, were drowned out.

The owner of the foot is Xiao Cheng.

He bent down with a cold face, holding the wooden stick she had thrown away in his hand, the figure beneath the stick trembling.

At the same time, screams rang out from the other side.

Xiao Wei's three-pronged rake pierced Ahui's body, and his fierce little eyes were exactly the same as Xiao Cheng's.

The widow Wang standing nearby covered her mouth with both hands, her legs trembling. She probably, perhaps, possibly...

You probably haven't seen "Brother Xiao Cheng" in this aspect much, have you?

The neighbors came out when they heard the noise.

Bai Lu had already pulled Xiao Cheng and Xiao Wei apart. Standing at her front door, she looked down at Liu Guanggun and Ahui on the ground and said loudly, "If you dare to steal from my house again, this is what will happen to you."

"Oh, it's just catching a thief. I thought it was something serious, especially so late at night..."

The onlookers initially thought that Xiao Cheng, that bully, must have been bullying someone again. He never cared about the occasion or reason for beating people up, and everyone hated him.

Just as they were preparing to launch a verbal attack, Bai Lu's explanation revealed that it was actually theft.

Having learned the cause and effect, the neighbors immediately shifted their focus, pointing directly at the thief on the ground.

"Isn't that Liu Guanggun and his cousin!"

"I was wondering who was so blind to dare to come and steal from Xiao Cheng's house so late at night. Turns out, it really is a blind, habitual thief."

"That's right, those two are used to petty theft. Last month, Ahui stole money in the next town and was chased and beaten by a large group of people for three blocks!"

"At the beginning of the month, Liu Guanggun was harassing Lao Liang's daughter. Lao Liang chased him with a fire poker and beat him. He hid at home for a week and dared not go out."

"Look at that over there, isn't that a burlap sack? And a rope too! They actually used a burlap sack to steal things, and is that rope meant to tie someone up? Oh my god! Luckily Xiao Cheng was home, otherwise it would have been so dangerous if it were just Bai Lu and Xiao Wei!"

"If you ask me, this kind of incorrigible scoundrel doesn't deserve any sympathy even if he's beaten to death; he deserves it!"

"Serves you right!"

"I wouldn't mind if you were killed!"

Seeing that Bai Lu and the others were alright, the neighbors gave Liu Guanggun and Ahui a good scolding and then left.

Tonight's deal is quite significant, with many twists and turns; it'll provide plenty of conversation tomorrow.

Liu Guanggun and Ahui were still lying in the pit, enduring the scolding without daring to utter a sound. Only after everyone had left did they slowly raise their heads, enduring the excruciating pain, and see the terrifying demon close the door. Only then did the two dare to help each other up.

In addition to his physical injuries, Liu Guanggun also broke his right hand and right leg, while Ahui broke his left hand and left leg.

After grimacing for a while, he finally managed to stand up and limped away as if fleeing.
