The two walked out of their house side by side and soon arrived at the lively barbecue restaurant.

The restaurant was bustling with noise, and the air was filled with the enticing aroma of grilled meat.

Several people were already lined up at the door, and the two of them stood there for a long time before finally getting a seat.

"It seems the food here is pretty good; it's so hard to get a seat."

Gu Jingran was also very excited: "We need to eat more later, we can't wait in line for nothing."

Throughout the entire meal, Gu Jingran was almost always busy with tongs on the small charcoal stove.

When he hung up the phone and came back, his face had changed to an apologetic expression.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Ye Linchen asked with concern.

Gu Jingran explained somewhat helplessly, "There's an urgent matter at the company that I need to rush back to handle. I also have to make a last-minute business trip to Shanghai tomorrow."

Hearing this, Ye Linchen felt a little disappointed, but still patted Gu Jing's arm understandingly.

"Work is important, you should go now. We can take a walk together when you get back, it's not like the school is going anywhere."

Gu Jingran slowly straightened up, looking at Ye Linchen's flushed face and somewhat bewildered eyes, his voice carrying a tenderness he himself was unaware of.

He said softly, "I'll take you home."
