The train arrived in Donglin City a little after 1 p.m.

He Lixuan's plan was to first find a place to eat with Shiyue, then send Shiyue to Pingjiang University, and then go to the municipal party committee compound.

Who would have thought that as soon as the two stepped off the platform, they would encounter an unexpected person.

"Brother Song Wen, what brings you here?"

After not seeing him for several years, Song Wen had lost even more weight, standing there like a wooden stake.

He Lixuan wouldn't have recognized him if he hadn't greeted him first.

"You brat, it's only been a few years, and you don't even recognize your own brother!"

Song Wen squeezed through the crowd and affectionately punched He Lixuan on the shoulder.

Then he said, "Knowing you were coming, how could I not come to greet you? If you go back and tell the teacher, wouldn't I be in deep trouble?"

“My dad wouldn’t do anything to you. You’re much more important to him than I am,” He Lixuan said with a smile.

"Nonsense." Song Wen reached out and patted He Lixuan's head, his expression full of affection.

Even an outsider could see that they had a very good relationship.

After exchanging a few more words, He Lixuan learned that Song Wen had come to wait for him during his lunch break, as he had to go to work in the afternoon.

He immediately said, "Brother Song Wen, why don't you go to work first? I have something to do. I need to take my friend to Pingjiang University first. Don't worry, I can find the place. I'll come find you later."

When Shi Yue heard that He Lixuan wanted to give her a ride, she was about to refuse when she saw the person opposite her raise an eyebrow after hearing that.

He quickly looked himself up and down, then gave He Lixuan a somewhat ambiguous look.

Shiyue felt extremely uncomfortable when he looked at her.

But they didn't say anything, and she couldn't even explain herself!

Song Wenchao gave He Lixuan a look that said, "I'll interrogate you later," and then didn't ask any more questions about the matter.

Instead, he nodded to Shiyue and said warmly, "You're going to Pingjiang University? Let's go together, it's on the way. Pingjiang University isn't far from the Municipal Party Committee, it's just one stop away. Lixuan and I will take you there."

He took the large bundle from He Lixuan's hands and led the way.

It's no longer appropriate for Shiyue to separate from them.

She gave He Lixuan a complaining look.

He Lixuan chuckled and lowered his voice, saying, "You have to let me know where this place is, otherwise how am I supposed to find you later?"

Shiyue thought to herself, "Why are you looking for me when everything's fine?"

But then he remembered that they still had to buy return tickets together, so he swallowed his words.

She walked silently beside the two of them.

Song Wen arrived by bicycle.

Since the three of them couldn't ride bikes, he pushed the bike in front while He Lixuan and Shiyue followed behind, carrying the luggage.

Clearly, Song Wen was much more interested in Shi Yue than He Lixuan, constantly turning back to ask her all sorts of questions along the way.

Shiyue said a few words, picking out what she could say.

Later, Song Wen finally realized that Shi Yue was unwilling to talk more, so he stopped asking and instead talked about his acquaintances at Pingjiang University.

"You said the family you're looking for has the surname Shen, so is it the Shen Yuanbai family? They also have a daughter named Shen Ningning?"

Shi Yue couldn't help but look at him: "Do you know my Uncle Shen?"

Song Wen laughed.

"Who in Donglin City doesn't know Dean Shen from the university? But I'm not familiar with him; I'm more familiar with his daughter, Shen Ningning."

Song Wen explained to Shi Yue, "Shen Ningning and my wife were college classmates, and later they were both assigned to the city hospital. They have a good relationship. I've met her several times."

Shi Yue never expected that the conversation would lead to someone they both knew, and she immediately felt closer to Song Wen.

She even quickened her pace, leaving He Lixuan, who was holding onto the luggage on the back seat, behind, and walked to the front to chat with Song Wen side by side.

Seeing the two people chatting happily in front of him, seemingly having forgotten his existence, He Lixuan kicked Song Wen in the shin without making a sound.

"Hiss!" Song Wen was caught off guard and was startled!

He turned his head speechlessly, about to complain, "How come you're still so naughty even though you're all grown up?"

Then he met He Lixuan's eyes, which were full of frustration.

Song Wen couldn't help but burst out laughing.

He Lixuan didn't really think much when he kicked him; he was just a little annoyed.

But Song Wen's smile suddenly made him feel embarrassed.

He glared at Song Wenge in anger and embarrassment, then looked away and gazed elsewhere.

Shiyue was unaware of the strife these two had been causing behind her back. Seeing Song Wen stagger, she asked with concern, "Brother Song Wen, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing, I just slipped," Song Wen said.

Just as he stood up again and prepared to walk forward, his gaze fell on a person walking towards them from across the street.

"Dr. Shen!" Song Wen waved to the person opposite him.

The wind was strong and snow was falling. The person was wrapped in a thick scarf and didn't hear Song Wen's words at all.

Song Wen simply raised his voice and shouted at the person, "Shen Ningning! Dr. Shen!"

Only then did the man raise his head.

She glanced at Song Wen first, and was about to nod when she saw Shi Yue standing to the side.

Her expression immediately turned to shock.

Shen Ningning quickly crossed the road and walked up to the three of them.

Before she could even greet Song Wen, she looked at Shi Yue and asked, "Is your surname Shi? Are you Shi Yue?"
