Chapter 145 The Wronged Gao Dajiang

"Hey, Gao Dajiang, you've come at the right time. Our political department needs your assistance in an investigation."

Team Leader Zhang's eyes lit up when he saw Gao Dajiang.

What a twist of fate! The military region is the territory of their political department, and this guy surnamed Gao has just walked right into their trap.

"Get out of my way, this is none of your business."

Gao Dajiang casually pushed Team Leader Zhang aside, then walked up to Zhuang Mingcheng with a gloomy expression.

After looking him up and down, Gao Dajiang asked sternly, "Zhuang Mingcheng, where are the men from your battalion? Why are you all alone?"

Zhuang Mingcheng got out of the jeep and saluted.

"Reporting to the regimental commander, the First Battalion has successfully completed its escort mission and has been brought back to the regiment by Wang Haibing."

Gao Dajiang breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, and then reached out and patted Zhuang Mingcheng's shoulder forcefully.

That brat really startled him; he thought the kid had deserted.

That's true, news can't possibly travel that fast.

"Commander, I can't just watch Fangfang be taken away by them..."

"I know that I'm approving your leave in person now because Lao Xiao and I have wronged you. You should come with us. We're all in the same group, we can't lose our backbone!"

Zhuang Mingcheng stood at attention and saluted again, "Thank you, Commander."

Gao Dajiang patted him on the shoulder again, feeling somewhat ashamed.

It was he, as the regimental commander, who couldn't protect the people in his own regiment.

Lu Fangfang stood aside and secretly breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

With Commander Gao's words, Mingcheng was no longer considered to have left the team without permission. She turned to look at Team Leader Zhang, still somewhat afraid that this person might do something malicious.

The movement has only just begun, and all sorts of scoundrels have already emerged. Sigh, there are bad people in the ranks.

"Gao Dajiang and Zhuang Mingcheng, do you two think the military region is your own home?"

Team Leader Zhang was pushed so hard by Gao Dajiang that he stumbled, and at that moment he was both angry and amused.

He brushed the dirt off his shoulders, strode up to Gao Dajiang, and said with ill intent:

"The military region's political study class is still short one spot. Gao Dajiang, I think you're perfect for going in!"

Gao Dajiang frowned as he looked at Team Leader Zhang, growing increasingly displeased with him.

Political study classes were not good places; only rightists who had been criticized and those with bad family backgrounds were locked up there for study.

This person's words were an insult to him.

"Hey Zhang, one of your glasses lenses is broken and the other isn't. That's really mismatched. Let me help you out."

"Um?"

Team Leader Zhang was taken aback and subconsciously looked up.

Gao Dajiang lost his temper and threw a punch, yelling, "You son of a bitch, when I was making the revolution, you were still wearing open-crotch pants, and you expect me to study?"

"Bang."

"Ouch."

Team Leader Zhang covered his left eye and screamed in pain.

He took off his glasses and saw that both lenses were shattered.

Seeing his men staring at him, he was furious. He immediately pointed at Gao Dajiang and shouted, "Bastards, what are you all looking at? Arrest him! Arrest him!"

The members of the investigation team looked at each other, somewhat hesitant, after all, this was a military compound.

"Hurry up and get there!"

Hearing Team Leader Zhang's furious shouts, everyone could only gather around.

Upon seeing this, the guards and Zhuang Mingcheng immediately stepped forward to protect Gao Dajiang.

"No need, all of you move aside. I want to see what these brats can do to me."

Gao Dajiang took two steps forward, looking at the crowd with disdain.

He tilted his head slightly, glanced at the military building to the north, and immediately felt even more confident.

“You political department people call everyone a counter-revolutionary. You can’t do anything else but sabotage things. I’ve had my eye on you for a long time, and today I’m going to teach you a lesson.”

Gao Dajiang rolled up his sleeves, ready to get down to business.

"Useless trash, all of you, get them! Arrest them all!"

Team Leader Zhang covered his eyes, stood behind the group, and shouted menacingly.

Several members of the investigation team slowly walked towards the group, not even sparing the woman standing nearby, intending to arrest them all.

Lu Fangfang stood to the side and subconsciously reached for the dagger at her waist.

But then she thought about where she was and felt relieved. She thought that there shouldn't be any trouble in the military compound.

"Stop it, all of you!"

A loud shout came from afar, and a man in his fifties or sixties strode over.

Behind the man followed a group of military officers.

“Wu… Deputy Commander Wu, Lin… Chief of Staff Lin, Director.”

Team Leader Zhang didn't even bother to cover his eyes; he immediately stood at attention and saluted.

"Great, great, Zhang Zhiming!"

As Deputy Commander Wu approached, he let out a loud shout.

"Is this how your political department operates? It's utterly disorganized and undisciplined. You dare to use force and arbitrarily arrest people within the military region. Do you even respect the military region?"

Deputy Commander Wu glanced back at the officers of the military region, especially the leaders of the political department, and then continued:

"Does your political department think you can just take down whoever you want? Is my turn next, as the deputy commander? Then the commander and the political commissar? Is your goal to throw the entire military region into chaos?!"

Team Leader Zhang's forehead was covered in sweat.

He glanced at the director beside him, his heart sinking.

Thinking of his future, he quickly defended himself, saying, "No, Commander, it was Gao Dajiang who attacked me first. I didn't arrest anyone randomly."

Deputy Commander Wu glanced at him, then walked up to Gao Dajiang.

"Comrade Commander, Zhang Zhiming has arrested the wives of soldiers in our regiment."
