A charming military wife travels back to the 1960s, escaping famine across five provinces before finally reaching the cavalry regiment at the foot of the Qilian Mountains, where she begins her life...
In the middle of the stream, the snow leopard bit its tail, looking somewhat embarrassed.
It looked back, glanced at Lu Fangfang and her group, and then tentatively took two steps forward.
"Meow~"
Little Flower bared her teeth and growled angrily at it, startling the snow leopard, which quickly retreated a few steps.
Lu Fangfang's forehead was covered in cold sweat.
She grabbed the little flower's tail, pulled it back quickly, and then covered its mouth.
"Daughter, you're so fierce, Mom's scared."
Lu Fangfang held Xiaohua, secretly lamenting her predicament.
'Look at its size! Little Flower, you're really fearless! Didn't you see the little yellow dog burying its head in its butt?'
He caught a glimpse of Zhuang Mingcheng behind him, as if he was about to step forward.
She quickly waved her hand to stop her husband; they couldn't afford to provoke the snow leopard any further.
Being so close, the two of them combined only have a maximum of two chances to fire a shot...
The big cat is so cute, Lu Fangfang doesn't want to take any risks, so let's keep things peaceful.
The snow leopard, biting its tail, looked quite awkward on its large, furry head, unsure whether to retreat or advance.
The two sides stared at each other, and a stalemate ensued.
After a while, Lu Fangfang became a little impatient.
Looking at the snow leopard in the stream in the distance, she said in as gentle a tone as possible, "Ahem, why don't you go first?"
In the stream, the snow leopard tilted its head and looked at Lu Fangfang.
After a while, it tentatively took a step forward.
Seeing that nothing had happened, it bit its tail and slowly waded across the stream to a large open space on the bank.
It shook off the water and then released the tail from its mouth.
At this point, the two sides were much closer, only a few steps apart.
Zhuang Mingcheng couldn't hold back any longer. He slowly stepped forward, shielding his wife behind him, his right hand tightly gripping her waist.
Fortunately, the snow leopard in front of them made no other move.
It glanced at Lu Fangfang and her group, especially at Xiao Hua, and then ran quickly up the mountain.
The snow leopard moved very nimbly, and soon its figure disappeared into the mountains.
"call……"
Lu Fangfang gently exhaled the breath she had been holding; she hadn't dared to breathe loudly just now.
"Meow~"
"Oh my, you little rascal, you've got some nerve. Let me tell you, whether we're human or snow leopards, we have to be careful, understand?"
Lu Fangfang gave it a good talking-to.
She wiped the sweat from her forehead onto Little Flower's fur, then let go of her.
Little Flower shook its fur and looked up at the mountain again.
"Awoo~"
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox perked up and howled wildly towards the mountains to the south.
Lu Fangfang rolled her eyes.
"Fangfang, are you alright?"
"It's nothing, I just sweated a bit."
She walked quickly to the stream, squatted down, and washed her face.
Looking around, the valley was shaped like the Chinese character "丿" and looked quite dangerous.
When she reached the bend in the stream, she took off her shoes and walked barefoot into the water.
On the shore, Zhuang Mingcheng looked up at the mountain, then led the chestnut horse and the wild donkey to the flat land in the valley.
The snow leopard that suddenly appeared had startled him.
He drew the gun from his waist, inspected it, and then carefully put it back into its holster.
Reaching the stream, he washed his face, then looked up at his wife and asked, "How was it? Did you find anything?"
"Jinsha, Zhuang Mingcheng, there's Jinsha here!!"
Lu Fangfang looked at the golden hue in her hand with great surprise.
The stream flowing from the valley to the north had carved out a sizable sandy area at a bend, and she was certain there was gold inside.
Calling out "Little Flower" and "Little Tibetan Fox," Lu Fangfang first carefully searched the sandy area.
After a while, seeing that she hadn't made any progress, she prepared to use an entrenching tool to dig for gold in the sand.
She refused to believe that such a large area couldn't contain a single piece of gold.
Fortunately, the location was convenient, so she called Zhuang Mingcheng and used a tarpaulin to create a stepped channel in the stream. Then, she took an entrenching tool and started pouring mud and sand onto the tarpaulin.
The small grains of sand and soil on the tarpaulin were quickly washed away by the stream.
In the stepped grooves, only the heavier sand and gravel remained.
Such simple gold panning tools are very unreliable, as most of the small gold particles will be washed away by the stream.
However, Lu Fangfang wasn't greedy. She let the small ones go, as long as the big ones were left.
Anyway, there's a lake downstream, so it won't be wasted if it flows there.
"Splash~"
She scooped up a full shovel of sand and carried it to the stream, then poured it evenly onto the tarpaulin.
Soon, the sand was washed away by the stream.
Zhuang Mingcheng was doing the same thing; this made gold panning much easier.
The little Tibetan fox and Little Flower were still sniffing around on the sandy ground.
Lu Fangfang glanced at the two little guys and, seeing that they hadn't made any progress yet, lowered her head and continued digging in the sand.
Holding the entrenching tool, she dug down hard, and just as she lifted it up, she suddenly saw the little Tibetan fox barking wildly at the sand pit she had just dug.
Lu Fangfang was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized what was going on.
She dropped the shovel and quickly crouched down to look into the pit.
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox pawed at the ground with its two front paws.
Soon, a round, golden stone, slightly smaller than an egg, appeared before her eyes.
"Zhuang Mingcheng! Zhuang Mingcheng, come here quickly."
Lu Fangfang clutched her chest, feeling her heart beating a little fast.
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox pulled out a golden, round stone, raised its head, and let out a proud cry.
