A charming military wife travels back to the 1960s, escaping famine across five provinces before finally reaching the cavalry regiment at the foot of the Qilian Mountains, where she begins her life...
"Snow King?"
Xiuxiu scratched her head, thinking the name sounded very powerful.
She leaned closer to take a look and couldn't help but laugh again.
"Xiuxiu, roll another snowball, and we'll build one on the other side of the doorway too."
Lu Fangfang picked up the shovel and got busy again.
She plans to build two snow kings to guard the two sides of the farm.
"Meow~"
Little Flower crawled out of the snowdrift, shook itself, and looked curiously at the big snowman that had appeared.
It sniffed it closely, then lifted its leg, as if trying to leave a mark.
"Go away, Little Flower, don't you dare pee on Snow King."
"Meow~"
Little Flower was still a little disappointed, and it walked to the roadside.
Having gained experience in building snowmen, the two quickly created a second snow king.
Lu Fangfang stood in front of the door, looking on with a great sense of accomplishment.
I looked up and saw that the snow was still falling, showing no signs of stopping.
"Xiuxiu, let's go back."
Lu Fangfang called out to Xiuxiu and entered the courtyard.
When she arrived at the shed, just as she was about to push the door open and go in, she saw the little weasel on her shoulder jump down.
"Squeak~"
It climbed up the courtyard wall and quickly disappeared from sight.
Knowing that the little guy was afraid of Tibetan foxes, Lu Fangfang looked at him again and then pushed open the door and went into the house.
"Xiao Lu, Xiu Xiu, look at the snow on you two. Quickly take it off and brush it off so you don't get your clothes wet."
Zhao Lanying sat in front of the stove, preparing to start a fire.
Seeing the two of them, she was overjoyed; the two sisters were just like children.
"Sister-in-law, I think the snow is going to continue, so we need to make more firewood tonight."
Lu Fangfang took off her clothes, shaking off the snow as she looked out the window. The yard that she and Xiuxiu had just cleaned was now covered in snow again. This snowfall was really heavy.
After a while, seeing that it was getting late, she called to Xiuxiu and prepared to go back.
As they left the courtyard, the two instinctively looked back.
The snow kings on both sides of the courtyard gate, now covered in snowflakes, looked much more bulky.
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey looked on with great curiosity.
It stepped forward and was immediately drawn to the carrot on the snowman's head.
It grinned, wagging its little tail, as if it wanted to take a bite.
"Smack."
Lu Fangfang reached out and slapped it, then grabbed the donkey's ear and headed home.
"You big glutton, don't you dare touch the snowman we built."
The little wild donkey looked back, still somewhat reluctant to leave.
On the way home, it was all snow. When you stepped into it, the snow went deep into your ankles and almost up to your calves.
When I got home, the yard was covered in snow.
The haystacks where the little wild donkey used to sleep were all covered by snow, turning into large snowdrifts.
The little wild donkey glanced at her, then drooped its ears and looked at Lu Fangfang.
"Oh...ah..."
Lu Fangfang frowned and patted the donkey's head helplessly, "I should have left you at the farm; at least it's warm there."
"Sister, let the little wild donkey come inside. The yard is covered in snow, and we can't even sleep."
The little wild donkey turned its head to look at Xiuxiu and immediately nuzzled her as if trying to please her.
Lu Fangfang had no choice but to brush the snow off the donkey and pull it into the house.
"Little stubborn donkey, you stay by the wooden bed and don't go anywhere else. Don't steal anything from inside the house. Little Flower, keep an eye on the little wild donkey."
"Oh...ah..."
The little wild donkey obediently walked to the wooden bed and lay down directly.
Its head rested on the wooden bed, and it looked around the room with curiosity.
After a while, Zhuang Mingcheng returned covered in snow.
He took off his hat and shook his military overcoat, then turned around and saw the little wild donkey lying in the house, which didn't surprise him.
"Fangfang, did the delivery of Zhang Honghua go smoothly?"
"She kept making a fuss and refused to leave, but with Sister-in-law Lan Ying there, it was no use for her to stay. Xiu Xiu and Sister-in-law Lan Ying personally saw her off on the train, and she should be arriving in the provincial capital soon now."
As she spoke, Lu Fangfang sighed again.
This was the first time she had ever met someone like this. She was both stupid and annoying, and even though she had some cleverness, she didn't use it for anything worthwhile.
When we get back to our hometown, there will definitely be another big fuss.
She was too lazy to say anything more, so she had Zhuang Mingcheng wash his hands, and the family sat down at the table to eat dinner.
Before going to bed, Lu Fangfang went out to take another look and saw that the snow was still falling, but it was lighter than before.
The next day.
Lu Fangfang was awakened by the sound of snow being shoveled in the yard.
She put on her clothes and went outside. All she saw was a vast expanse of white snow. The snow in the yard was almost burying the house. Her husband was shoveling snow.
Walking to an unswept area, she curiously stepped on it and saw that the snow was almost up to her knees, at least thirty or forty centimeters thick.
"Wow, Mingcheng, is the snow this heavy all around here?"
Zhuang Mingcheng pushed the snow away forcefully, then shook his head and said, "No, I haven't seen such heavy snow in years."
As he spoke, he seemed somewhat worried.
Heavy snowfall can lead to a snow disaster, and this heavy snowfall is not a good thing.
"Fangfang, I'm not eating breakfast this morning. I'll clear a path and go to the regiment. There's so much snow, I have to go check on things. Please make sure nothing goes wrong."
Lu Fangfang also realized what was happening, and the smile on her face disappeared.
She went inside to wake Xiuxiu, and together they cleaned the yard.
There was so much snow that it couldn't all be piled up in the yard, so she pulled over the little wild donkey, hitched it to the cart, and prepared to transport the snow outside.
"Squeak~"
The roads in the residential compound were covered in snow, and the little wild donkey pulling the cart was having some difficulty walking.
As Lu Fangfang looked at it, something seemed to come to mind.
With such heavy snow, we could make a sled; that would be more convenient.
