Chapter 423 Inspection

"Mingcheng, are you going out?"

Lu Fangfang looked at her husband and saw that he was fully armed, carrying a water bottle and a military satchel, looking like he was about to go out.

With such thick snow outside, her heart jumped into her throat.

"Yes, I need to lead the team to check out the various outposts. It should take two or three days. You and Xiuxiu stay home and take good care of yourselves."

As Zhuang Mingcheng spoke, he turned his head and glanced at the scene.

Seeing Xiuxiu piling up snow at the entrance of the farm, he shouted, "Xiuxiu, I'm going away for a few days. Keep an eye on your sister."

"Okay, brother-in-law."

Zhuang Mingcheng looked at the snowmen on both sides again and couldn't help but smile. "You and Xiuxiu built these? They're quite good."

"Um."

Lu Fangfang was not in the same good mood as him.

Walking up to Zhuang Mingcheng, she reached out and straightened her husband's clothes. "Be careful, the snow is thick now. Be cautious on the road. Do you want Xiaohua to come with you?"

"No need, I'm not catching spies this time, don't worry, there's no danger, it's just a bit tiring."

Zhuang Mingcheng looked back and saw that there was no one else nearby except Xiuxiu and Dazhuang.

He reached out and hugged his wife, then turned and left.

Lu Fangfang watched him leave before reluctantly walking towards the farm.

Now all four of them had the same expression.

"Sis, your husband is only going away for a few days, don't worry, let's build a snowman."

Xiuxiu was in high spirits and wanted to build a few more snowmen with her shovel.

She just made a little bear shape, it's so cute.

"Forget it, I'm not in the mood. You can play by yourself. It's cold now, so don't get frostbite. Play for a while and then come inside."

After Lu Fangfang finished speaking, she led the little ones into the yard.

Once inside the breeding shed, she collected quail eggs for a while, then busied herself in the storage room.

"Xiao Lu, what are you doing?"

“I’ll make a sled; it’s all snow outside, and the donkey cart won’t go far.”

Lu Fangfang took a saw and sawed the wooden planks with all her might; these were the leftovers from before.

If she weren't pregnant, she would have liked to make a ski and go skiing on the grass outside.

She looked down at her belly and felt that it seemed to have grown a little bigger.

She was busy until noon, then put down her work and went out to take a look.

It's a bright and sunny day today, the sun is high in the sky, but the snow on the ground has only slightly melted. In a little while, after the sun sets, it will freeze again.

Judging from the current situation, the snow on the grassland probably won't melt until next year.

This winter has been tough for the animals on the grasslands.

As Lu Fangfang was sighing, she heard the laughter of children coming from outside the courtyard.

"Sister, what's the name of this snowman you built?"

"My sister named him Snow King. Pretty cool, right?"

"Sister, what should we name this snowman we built?"

Hmm...

"We'll start this later. Erni, Tiedan, you two go roll a big snowball. Daya, use your little shovel to make the snow pile rounder..."

Lu Fangfang went out curiously and saw Xiuxiu leading several little kids from the family compound to build a snowman at the gate.

There were several piled up nearby, one of which even had two ears standing up, resembling a cute little rabbit.

Her family's little ones were also there, among whom the little wild donkey was the most leisurely. It stretched out its donkey head and was eating the carrot in Tie Dan's hand, completely changing its listless mood from the morning.

Lu Fangfang walked over and patted the gluttonous fellow.

"Tiedan, watch your backside! This little pile of carrots, you stole them from home, didn't you?"

Tie Dan's face stiffened, and he quickly shook his hands, "No, no, Auntie, my mother knows, I didn't steal it."

The little wild donkey seemed to understand something.

It quickly used its donkey head to push Lu Fangfang, trying to make her leave.

"Alright, Tiedan, a few carrots are enough to build a snowman. Take the rest back quickly so they don't freeze. Your mother worked so hard to grow them."

Lu Fangfang smiled and shook her head, then walked over to the snowman and looked at it again.

The little ones have great imaginations; the snowmen they built are very beautiful, and one of them even looks like a little flower.

"Xiuxiu, how did you apply the blush to the snowman's face?"

"Auntie, it's painted with the character '福' (fortune/blessing)."

Erni picked up a small half of a red spring couplet and waved it in her hand.

"You guys are really smart."

Lu Fangfang borrowed the brushes and applied blush to the snow kings on both sides of the doorway.

She returned half of the "Fu" character to Erni, and then walked over to Daya and looked at it.

The little girl was making a snowman with a small shovel. She was quite impressed; the little girl's craftsmanship was much better than hers and Xiuxiu's.

Seeing that Da Niu was also there, Lu Fangfang went over to take a look and saw that she was drawing a snowman in a small notebook.

After more than two months of learning, Da Niu's drawings are becoming more and more decent.

"Don't draw it like that here, make it a little more curved..."

Lu Fangfang pointed to the notebook and taught for a while.

Seeing that the little girl had chilblains on her hands, she took them into her own hands and warmed them up.

“Girl, drawing isn’t something you can learn quickly, and don’t work so hard. Play when you want to play. If it’s too cold, we won’t draw.”

"Auntie, I...I understand."

Da Niu blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed as Lu Fangfang held her hand like that.

Lu Fangfang chuckled. She touched Da Niu's little face and then turned to say, "Xiu Xiu, let them go home after the sun goes down. Don't let them get cold."

Her mood finally improved, and after watching for a while, she went back inside and continued making the sled.
