Chapter 219: Poor and particular

Lu Yuxiu helped Lin Xia go out to the bathroom to wash up, while Aunt Lu and An An stayed in the room busying themselves.

All three beds in the ward were occupied. Lin Xia's bed was close to the door. The innermost bed was empty, but there was something next to it that clearly indicated that someone was there.

The pregnant woman in the middle bed was awake. She had short hair and the fat on her face showed that she had eaten a lot during pregnancy.

Aunt Lu was packing up the luggage she had brought up, arranging the thermos, water cups and lunch boxes. When she raised her eyes, her gaze met that of the short-haired woman, and she was too late to retract her furtive glance.

"We can afford it. We can take care of them however we want. What does it have to do with you?" Aunt Lu was impatient. This woman had sharp eyes and had been staring at them since they came in. That look made Aunt Lu very uncomfortable.

"You..." The woman was choked by the words.

There were footsteps at the door. Aunt Lu thought Lin Xia was back. She turned around and saw a man supporting a pregnant woman walking in. The man looked honest and the woman had a small round face. They looked like a couple.

Seeing another person admitted to the ward, the two nodded and smiled at Aunt Lu, "Hello."

Aunt Lu also smiled slightly and nodded, "Hello."

After greeting each other, the two of them walked towards their beds without saying anything more.

The short-haired woman grumbled softly, turned around unhappily, and went inside to talk to the woman who had just come in. She seemed to be whispering to them, and her eyes kept looking over here from time to time.

The little guy looked at the bed. The hospital bed was already very small, and Lin Xia was a pregnant woman, so there was no empty space after she lay down.

"Mom, I'll sleep here. I'll hold your feet while I sleep." An An patted the end of the bed with her little hands. There was an empty space because the aunt next door had gone to sleep. If mom went to sleep, there would definitely be an empty space too. It would be just right for her to sleep there.

The little guy became discouraged upon hearing this, and finally left pitifully. Before leaving, he promised Lin Xia that he would come to the hospital to see her the next day.

Seeing that she was embarrassed, Lu Yuxiu's eyes flashed with a smile. He covered her with a blanket before leaving.

After leaving the ward, Aunt Lu looked at Lu Yuxiu in confusion and asked, "How can we not leave someone to accompany Xiaoxia?"

"I'll take you to the guesthouse and then come to the hospital. I'll stay with you tonight, and I'll have to trouble you again tomorrow." Lu Yuxiu gave the reason.

He had promised Lin Xia before just to let her rest early, so how could he leave Lin Xia alone in the hospital?

Lu Yuxiu moved a stool and sat beside Lin Xia's bed, put his hands on the edge of the bed, closed his eyes and went to sleep.
