Without any delay, Xia Wan immediately began to inquire about Wang Yongqiang again.

Although Assistant Sun was still a little confused, he answered Xia Wan's questions in detail.

However, Xia Wan didn't care about any of that at the moment; she walked straight toward the gate of the steel plant.

From afar, the steel plant's gates resembled an impregnable fortress, exuding an undeniable majesty under the dazzling sunlight.

Xia Wan took a deep breath, as if to infuse herself with endless courage, and then resolutely stepped into this place filled with the noise of machines and the strong smell of fireworks.

After entering the steel plant, Xia Wan looked around for Li Chengjun.

Not long after, she spotted Li Chengjun frowning and talking to several workers in a busy work area.

Li Chengjun was all serious as he carefully explained the work tasks to the workers. Large beads of sweat kept sliding down his forehead, leaving clear streaks against the dust on his face.

"Li Chengjun!" With a clear shout, Xia Wan's slender figure appeared in Li Chengjun's sight.

Upon hearing the sound, Li Chengjun quickly turned around, and the moment his eyes met Xia Wan's, a look of surprise involuntarily flashed across his eyes.

Just moments before, he had returned from chasing a suspect outside, only to find nothing, and was feeling rather down.

Unexpectedly, Xia Wan appeared at this moment, and seemed to be holding something of great importance to him.

"Wanwan, what's wrong with you..." Li Chengjun asked as he quickly stepped forward, his tone filled with barely concealed doubt.

He couldn't understand why Xia Wan would suddenly appear here at this time.

"Brother Jun, are you free? Let's find somewhere to talk, shall we?" Xia Wan raised her head slightly, her bright eyes quickly scanning the bustling crowd around her, clearly feeling that this was not a suitable place to talk.

Li Chengjun was slightly taken aback, but quickly recovered and nodded repeatedly, saying, "Okay, Wanwan, come with me."

With that, he took the lead and walked towards his office with Xia Wan.

After all, for the two of them at that moment, there was indeed no more private and convenient environment for communication.

Upon arriving at the office, Li Chengjun gently closed the door and hurried to the water dispenser to pour Xia Wan a glass of water, handing it to her with concern. "Have some water first. You look out of breath. Did something happen?"

Xia Wan took the water glass without hesitation, smiled gratefully at Li Chengjun, and then got straight to the point: "This was given to me by Assistant Sun and Wang Yongqiang. They said that these things are key evidence that can bring down Director Li of your steel plant in one fell swoop!"

As she spoke, she handed over the worn-out file folder she had just received.

Upon hearing these two names, Li Chengjun's face instantly showed astonishment. He turned sharply to look at Xia Wan beside him, his eyes filled with disbelief.

Immediately afterwards, he swiftly reached out and opened the file folder on the table, and eagerly glanced through its contents.

After reading the materials, Li Chengjun stood there frozen, speechless.

Time ticked by, and the surrounding air seemed to freeze. After a long while, he slowly raised his head as if waking from a dream, staring straight at Xia Wan in front of him.

His lips trembled slightly, and finally he spoke in a low and slow voice: "Actually, that Factory Director Li is my biological father."

Upon hearing this, Xia Wan's already large and bright eyes widened even more, like two copper bells.

She was clearly completely unprepared for this situation and was utterly shocked and at a loss for what to do.

However, she quickly came to her senses after only a moment, pointed to the document that Li Chengjun was holding tightly in his hand, and said with a slightly excited tone, "Ah? I see! Then it is most appropriate for you to handle this document."

Xia Wan was filled with mixed feelings, and it took her a while to recover before asking, "Then do you know who Assistant Sun and Wang Yongqiang work for?"

Li Chengjun frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, and said, "Assistant Sun is Guo Zhen's man, I think you know that. Wang Yongqiang is Deputy Factory Director Wang's nephew. The two of them were suppressed by my father before. Wang Yongqiang was even fired because my father caught him stealing factory property. So he has always wanted to deal with my father's faction!"
