Chapter 421 Three-Way Advance

The battle to recapture the three states started with the right-wing army!

The right-wing army was composed of Tian Qing's 2,000 Yinzhou troops as the center, Zhong Meng's 2,000 Shuozhou troops as the left wing, and Murong Chunhua's 1,000 cavalry as the right wing. They rushed straight to Shulechuan like a tiger out of the cage.

There is abundant water and grass here, and it was originally the breeding ground of the Wuhuan people.

Zhao Muyun had promised the Wuhuan people that he would recapture this place and make Huan Naxue, the Fengzhou commander appointed by the court, truly worthy of the title.

After being defeated by Tian Qing and Murong Chunhua in a surprise attack, Timur gathered thousands of defeated soldiers and some small tribes and settled in Shulechuan.

While licking his wounds, he greedily guarded the salt lake in the Gobi Desert, trying to recover his strength.

He knew that Yin's army might come, so he increased the patrols and reinforced the camp.

However, he was facing the Yin Army's right wing army, which had undergone a complete transformation.

Tian Qing's Yinzhou Army is no longer the Wu A'mon of the past.

Among them were a thousand cavalrymen, each equipped with a new composite bow, a thunder bomb hanging next to the saddle, and their sabers replaced with broadswords more suitable for chopping.

Although the armor is not as heavy as that of the Modao Battalion, the key parts have been strengthened, making it light and providing much greater protection.

The Murong cavalry led by Murong Chunhua were equipped with a large number of crossbows and shields, as well as some captured and repaired Tatar armor, and their combat effectiveness soared.

Wang Tiezhu's night guards had already known the situation in Timur's camp clearly.

Based on the intelligence, Tian Qing, Zhong Meng and Murong Chunhua formulated a siege strategy.

The battle broke out one dawn.

Tian Qing personally led the main cavalry and launched a fierce attack from the front!

They no longer charged in a loose formation like before, but instead formed a strict formation. When they were within an arrow's reach of Timur's camp, they all suddenly drew their bows!

“Bang, bang, bang!”

The dull sounds of compound bows merged into one, and arrows poured towards the Di camp like a torrential rain!

The range and power of the bows far exceeded those of the Tatars. Many Tatars were shot to the ground before they even entered the range.

Timur was shocked and quickly organized a cavalry counterattack.

The cavalry of both sides collided violently on the Shulechuan grassland!

This is a real head-on collision!

The Tatar cavalry grew up on horseback, and they had superb riding skills and were extremely brave.

However, the cavalry of Yin's army made up for the disadvantage by relying on their equipment advantage.

The horizontal sword is sharp and can often cut off the Tartar's scimitar; the compound bow can also shoot quickly at close range and disrupt the enemy's formation; more importantly, the armor on the body can only leave shallow marks when the Tartar's scimitar cuts it.

However, the Yin army's swords could easily break through the Tartar's armor!

In an instant, people and horses fell to the ground and blood splattered everywhere!

Tian Qing took the lead, and the embroidered spring sword in his hand was as fast as lightning. He knocked down several Tartar centurions in succession, and was unstoppable.

Just as the fierce battle on the front was in full swing, the cavalry led by Murong Chunhua quietly appeared from the flank.

They covered the Tatar flanks with dense crossbow arrows, suppressing Timur so that he could not support the front.

Zhong Mengze led 2,000 Shuozhou troops, all on horseback, and made a big circle, attacking directly from behind Timur!

Timur was attacked from both sides and his formation was in chaos!

He tried to divide his troops to resist, but was entangled by Tian Qing.

"Throw the thunder bomb!"

Tian Qing saw the right moment and yelled.

The Yin army cavalrymen in the front row took out their thunder bombs, lit the fuses with fire sticks, and threw them hard at the area where the Tatars were concentrated.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Explosions rang out one after another, smoke filled the air, and fragments flew everywhere!

The war horses were frightened and screamed everywhere!

Timur's troops had not participated in the battle of Shuozhou, so naturally they had never seen such weapons. They immediately fell into greater chaos, thinking that the gods were angry, and their fighting spirit collapsed instantly.

"Kill! Leave no one alive!"

Tian Qing roared and took the opportunity to attack fiercely.

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, Timur, with the desperate protection of his personal soldiers, fought his way out and fled in a panic to the north of the Daqing Mountains, not even caring about the precious salt lake.

Huyan Gu, who defected from King Zhelan to Timur, was blown to death in the chaos and his body was trampled into a pulp.

The right-wing army won a great victory, recaptured Shulechuan and Salt Lake in one fell swoop, beheaded more than 700 people, and seized a large number of horses, cattle, sheep and equipment.

Tian Qing ordered to clear the battlefield and control the salt lake.

At the same time, Zhong Meng was ordered to defend the Jiming Fortress leading to Mobei in the Daqing Mountains to prevent the Tatars from Mobei from moving south.

......

While the right-wing army was fighting fiercely in Shulechuan, Lin Feng, the commander of the left-wing army, was carrying out an extremely risky thousand-mile detour.

He and Shi Yong led a total of 4,000 troops.

But in order to capture the Daqingshan Fortress north of Yunzhou as soon as possible, he selected a thousand elite soldiers from the four thousand people, brought sufficient dry food, and set off first with two horses each.

The remaining 3,000 people, led by Shi Yong, arrived later.

They first marched southeastward to Daizhou, creating the illusion of heading south or east to confuse possible Tatar spies.

Then it suddenly turned northwest and crossed the sparsely populated mountainous area in northern Daizhou.

This road is extremely difficult to walk on, with high mountains, dense forests and ravines everywhere.

It was all thanks to Wang Tiezhu's night patrol that they explored the route in advance within a month and marked out a path that was barely suitable for marching.

The team traveled day and night, slept in the open air, and suffered countless hardships.

Lin Feng was extremely strict in disciplining his troops, yet at the same time he was able to share the joys and sorrows with his soldiers.

He kept encouraging his men: "Hurry up! Take the pass before King Loufan can react! Then we will be the first to achieve great success in the Northern Expedition! The general will be generous with his rewards!"

After nearly ten days of arduous journey, the thousand people were exhausted, but they finally miraculously crossed the mountainous area and appeared at Gaoquesai in Daqing Mountain, northeast of Yunzhou.

Lin Feng did not stop. Based on the precise intelligence provided by Ye Bushu, he immediately divided his troops into several routes and launched an attack with lightning speed.
