"Operator, hello. If you are hearing this broadcast, it means the erosion has already begun, and we have started to be forgotten by the world."
"If the erosion goes too deep and c...
Chapter 244 Who's on Guard?
"Who exactly are you?"
The voice on the phone laughed again: "Does it really matter who I am? Just think of me as a great philanthropist, eager to help others and yearning for world peace."
"You think I can't fucking tell? You just want to use me as a scapegoat!"
Hanni wasn't a fool, and he naturally understood the implication in the other person's words. He wanted to say something more, but was interrupted. The annoying voice simply retorted, "So what if it is? Do you think you still have a path to take?"
The call was then disconnected.
In the silence, Hanni's expression gradually became ferocious, until finally, he was completely enraged.
Even though he didn't know anything about the other party, he just thought that with just one phone call, they would expect him to become a subservient tool? They were really overthinking it.
This could even be bait deliberately laid out by other gangs, waiting for someone to take the bait. You really shouldn't let yourself find this kind of bastard hiding in the shadows and stabbing you in the back...
With this in mind, Hanni finally calmed down.
The best course of action right now—though it's pathetic—is to get through the targeting from others first. Those opportunistic little guys probably can't take down the Tattoo Gang in one fell swoop. As long as I'm willing to bow down to those allies and offer them several times the benefits, the outcome should be better.
With that thought in mind, he shouted loudly towards the outside of the office, "Damn it! Where the hell are they? Where the hell are they all?!"
Two minutes passed.
No one came, neither confidants nor underlings; they should all have gathered outside the base.
Suddenly receiving no response, Hanni wondered if these idiots had all turned against him! He immediately pulled up his contact list and dialed a number: "Where is the person in charge of organizing the weapons? Tell him to come see me right now, I have something important to announce."
However, what he heard was a strange and trembling voice.
You could even hear the chaotic sounds in the background of the communication, including gunshots, screams, and countless excited shouts.
"Boss! Something terrible has happened!" the man replied in terror. "Just five minutes ago, all the brothers guarding the warehouse were blasted to smithereens by a group of people wearing rubber masks with laser guns. All the goods we were hiding were also stolen."
Hanni's vision went black, and he almost fainted.
Rubber mask?
In the entire N52 block, apart from that mentally challenged guy in the Alliance who likes to sell dolls, where else can you find a mask that belongs to someone else?
These bastards are so desperate they'll eat anything.
"Fuck him...fuck fuck fuck fuck!!!"
Hanni couldn't hold back any longer and, as if he had lost his mind, smashed all the ceramics, portraits, and decorations in the office that he had bought at a high price to pieces. When he came to his senses, the scene was a complete mess.
"You've already contacted the crematorium before the person is even dead? That's outrageous... You're really not taking me seriously!"
At that moment, his mind uncontrollably recalled an address—the cheap bar he frequented that offered special services.
It was as if he had fallen into a trance.
In the dead silence.
Hanni, his face grim, pushed open the door and went out.
...
...
Inside a 24-hour convenience store in Block N52.
Pandora sat behind the counter, meticulously finishing the plate of dumplings in front of her with a bitter and resentful expression.
"Hey internet genius, how's your work going?"
He Yu asked this question over the communication.
What do you say?
Pandora awkwardly gripped the chopsticks and replied in a disjointed manner, "First you manipulated the chip to control a bunch of rubber dolls, then you committed murder and robbery, then framed someone... Can't you bastard let me do something more sophisticated?"
"Don't worry, once the new empire is established, you will be the greatest contributor." He Yu understood that she had completed all the tasks he had asked for, and after a few seconds of pause, he continued to instruct, "Now, there are some more important matters that require a genius like you to handle."
"Anything else? You fucking have any humanity—"
"Wait...you don't actually want to recruit those idiots to build up your own power, do you? So all you're doing right now is refining them?" Pandora thought to herself, feeling a chill run down her spine. Please, please don't let it be like that...
"It seems you have a pretty good sense of humor."
He Yu was amused. What kind of terrifying thought process was this? He wasn't brain-damaged, so why did he gather this bunch of idiots?
"You've probably never been involved in dogfighting. In that circle, even if the buyer has very little money, they don't just pick any junk dog."
"Then why did you ask me to project the armory of Heaven's Gospel and send them so much stuff?"
"Of course, we should let their struggle intensify until it escalates across the board, and then find a way to steer the conflict toward the board of directors."
"Sure, that sounds impressive, but I have a feeling you're not telling me the truth. So you'd better not mess things up, or I'll defect to the enemy." Pandora was momentarily speechless, not quite understanding what she was saying, but she didn't want to dwell on it for the time being.
"Oh, and remember to deliver those bombs to the other gang leaders on the way back after you've eaten. They're in a real hurry."
"Okay, okay, are you trying to kill me? Damn it..."
After exchanging a few indifferent words, He Yu hung up the call.
Right now, he was in a completely secluded place. The entire N52 district was in complete chaos. Just a few minutes ago, he had seen the board's new arrest warrant and live news on TV—Yu Yu and Hebrew were locked in a fierce battle, and the higher-ups were completely unable to spare any attention for him and Pandora. Perhaps it was because Li Lin was too lazy to get involved, believing that the group couldn't cause any major trouble, or perhaps out of consideration for old friendships. Who cared?
