Chapter 345 False Promises
He Yu didn't want to see Yu Yu in such a sorry state again, nor did he have the right to do so.
No matter who it is, if they bring someone back from the brink of death to suffer, they have no right to watch the person break down.
In the living room, Yu Yun came to her senses, then took off the blanket, threw it on the table, and walked naked into the bathroom.
She stood in front of the mirror, stunned for a moment, then suddenly rushed to the toilet and vomited.
Before this, Yu Yu hadn't eaten anything, so she could only vomit black bile until there was nothing left in her stomach, but she kept repeating the vomiting motion.
After more than ten minutes, she felt better and her limbs regained some strength. She got up and went to the shower, silently turning on the showerhead.
Yu Yu felt that she might need to be more clear-headed, but then she felt that the idea was meaningless. In the end, she went directly to the water—cold water, of course, which was really torturous.
She stood there in the drenching water for a while, then grabbed the wall and slowly sat down in the water. Cold water soaked her hair, flowing down her face and washing away much of the bloodstains. The glaring red against the milky white floor tiles wove a blood-red spiderweb, hovering on the surface for a few seconds before being unwillingly flushed into the sewer.
She was trembling all over. The wounds she had sustained inside the Mirror of Eternal Dreams had not yet been disinfected, and the water made them sting even more. It felt as if some kind of grinning monster was tearing at her from within, trying to completely devour the owner of this body.
Yu Yu thought she should get a few injections of inhibitors or bandage her wounds, then face reality head-on and change the water to hot water, but she was too lazy to care about those things.
His sister, whom he had no memory of as a relative, died in the Mirror of Eternal Dreams, in such a ridiculous way that it was almost exactly what that bastard wanted.
She frantically thought about what Li Lin had said to her, then hugged her knees and curled up in the cold water, her shoulders hunched over, like an unwanted toy.
A few seconds later, crying began.
Yu Yu didn't remember how long she stayed in the bathroom until she felt her body was about to swell up, at which point she snapped out of her daze and turned off the shower.
She squatted there for a while, thinking He Yu was a fucking bastard and that she should just die. Then she thought, forget it, someone went through so much trouble to save her, that person must have some reason, or maybe they wanted her to live? Anyway, some strange reason.
She leaned against the wall, stood up, put on a bathrobe, and went downstairs.
The living room was empty. Yu Yu didn't see He Yu's shadow, but she could sense that he was still in the villa—she could always sense these oddities. After all, the Eye of Truth wasn't transplanted for nothing, and even if the other party had comprehended "all things," he couldn't escape it.
Thinking of this, she suddenly felt very hungry, so she groped her way to the kitchen, turned on the light, and planned to find something to eat—but damn it, there wasn't even a single frozen dumpling, though there were plenty of fresh and unprocessed ingredients.
She rummaged through the refrigerator and at the same time discovered that her hands were weak and trembling. Only then did she realize that she had never received any treatment and that her wounds had not been treated.
Yu Yu pondered for a few seconds—she was still too lazy to do it, so she continued to rummage through the food she could use. Everything in the villa had obviously been carefully prepared by Eoubs; the refrigerator was full of everything you could need, making it seem as if someone could actually play out some happy scene here after a battle.
She planned to make a simple salad and two bowls of noodles. There were plenty of vegetables anyway. He Yu might want to eat barbecue? Whatever, she was the one cooking.
Just then, Yu Yu heard someone open the door and walk towards the kitchen.
For a few seconds, she didn't really want to turn her head, so she just stared at the pot of noodles, but when she tried to leave, she felt the atmosphere was getting weird—she could hear He Yu sit down at the table, light a cigarette, and lean against the table with one hand, probably looking at her.
Yu Yu endured this for a few minutes, then turned off the heat, filled two bowls, turned around, and handed them over expressionlessly.
He Yu was indeed sitting there. He had taken a shower in the bedroom, tidied himself up, and changed into the clothes that Yu Yu had bought for him initially. In such a peaceful place, the man looked warm and easygoing, unusually possessing the style of a domestic gentleman—the kind of lucky man who had never been to the battlefield and had spent his entire life basking in the sunshine.
He looked at Yu Yu with a helpless expression, then pointed to her hand.
The other person remained unmoved and suggested they eat in peace, but the person kept staring at the wounds, so she could only reply, "Just superficial injuries."
He Yu sighed and was about to stand up when Yu Yu quickly said, "You fucking sit down, I'll handle this myself."
So she watched as the man grimaced and sat back down before going into the living room to get the first-aid kit that was already on the table.
The air conditioning was on inside for some reason, making her skin crawl. She turned her head to look at a small light in the kitchen, a warm light that seemed straight out of a comedy. He Yu was sitting there, chin in hand, and she felt almost suffocated by it.
The bandaging was completed quickly; both of them were experts at treating wounds.
Yu Yu returned to his seat, dragged his own bowl of noodles over, and then pushed He Yu's portion towards him.
"If you don't eat, I'll kill you."
He then took the chopsticks, and the two ate the not-so-delicious food in silence, before falling silent again.
