Chapter 32

Su Qiong was in the bathroom, taking off her shirt with her arms crossed, when she remembered she hadn't taken off her watch and put her hand down. She took the watch off and put it on the bedside table, then stepped back into the bathroom and casually began to take off her clothes.

The black sportswear was thrown on the dry area floor, and the bra strap flew through the air and got caught on the toilet.

She had just spoken to Tang Yixi on the phone. To be more precise, she had spoken to her colleague through Tang Yixi's phone. Her colleague had even kindly turned on a camera and pointed it at Tang Yixi. Tang Yixi lay in the hospital bed, his voice hoarse and his face as hot as a tomato.

Colleague: "The direction of the mutation here should be transmission, and the mortality rate is not that high."

Su Qiong recalled this sentence, and the words "fatality rate" were all in her mind. She closed her eyes and felt the warm water pour down from her head.

After a quick shower, Su Qiong opened the glass door and emerged from the wet area. Water dripped down her ankles onto the dry tile floor, soaking it. Her mind was blank, and she tiptoed slightly to reach for a towel on the towel rack, then quickly pulled herself back. The towel whipped rapidly, and the clothes on the rack began to roll due to inertia.

Su Qiong was halfway through pulling out the towel when she felt something was wrong. She snapped out of her trance and watched helplessly as her pajamas, sagging and loose, slid from the sink and landed in the water. She always soaked her underwear in the water before showering, and the white porcelain sink was now filled with detergent-spattered water and bubbles from the current. Her underwear was pressed against her pajamas, which were then pushed down and scattered haphazardly across the water and the edge of the counter. Large swaths of her cotton clothing were quickly soaked.

Su Qiong:!

Su Qiong cried out in surprise and hurried to pick it up. Despite her speed, she could only salvage the underwear on top. Only the chest and cuffs of her pajamas remained wet.

It’s okay, my pajamas are wet and I can wear them again if I just took them off.

Su Qiong looked back with hope, and saw that the clothes she had worn before taking a bath were also wet on the path that was dripping with water.

Su Qiong: ...

Should I wear the dirty clothes that are not that wet, or the clean clothes that are soaked with detergent in a large area?

Su Qiong hesitated, holding the laundry-soaked clothes in her hand, unsure where to put them. She looked around, placed them on the toilet, and raised her hand to wipe her hair. As she wiped her hair, Su Qiong pondered a solution. Because she and Mu Yunting had been on a short business trip before being detained, this unexpected detention left Su Qiong with only pajamas, work clothes, and this sweatsuit to change into.

She could wash her dirty clothes and pajamas first, stay in the cool room, and wear them tomorrow when they are dry. But the problem is, her only set of dry work clothes is hanging on the balcony. How can she go to the balcony to hang clothes?

Su Qiong's skin had become dry and her hair was half-dried after she pondered for so long. She decided to wash both sets of clothes and find a place to hang them indoors so she would still have clothes to wear tomorrow.

You should be able to do it, right?

After simply carrying a few wrung clothes out of the bathroom, Su Qiong rushed to the window and closed the curtains. Then, she wandered around the room, searching for a good place to hang clothes. Her eyes flicked around, and she spotted the grooved railing above the desk; it was just the right size for three or four pieces of clothing. After hanging her clothes, Su Qiong quickly catapulted into bed, snuggling under the covers before reaching for her phone on the bedside table. Now unemployed, she had plenty of time to surf the internet, and every night she habitually finished watching a whole anime series before going to sleep.

After watching just a few episodes tonight, Su Qiong's eyelids began to droop. She drowsily turned off her phone, and as soon as she let go, she fell asleep.

Familiar music rang in her ears, and Su Qiong instinctively pressed her thumb, hitting the screen-off button on her phone. The alarm stopped, and the screen lit up, indicating that the alarm would resume in five minutes.

After a few minutes of this, Su Qiong finally regained consciousness. Squinting her eyes, she unlocked the screen, canceled the disturbing alarm from the taskbar, and slumped her head back down on the pillow. She rubbed her face, feeling she had slept soundly last night. She rolled around in bed a few times before sitting up, thinking about going out for dinner.

Mu Yunting made breakfast today. He said last night that the menu for this morning was soy milk and fried noodles. Su Qiong coveted the dried red dates in the refrigerator and asked if she could make soy milk with red dates. Mu Yunting said he would try it.

So Su Qiong was quite excited this morning, even waking up earlier than usual to turn off the alarm. She jumped out of bed, leaving the cold covers behind. Her skin felt a chill, as if the temperature had dropped today. She bent down and lifted a corner of the curtains, only to see a gentle drizzle outside. It was a steady drizzle, barely even a sound of raindrops hitting the ground.

Su Qiong felt the clothes on the desk. They were fine, not a single one dry, feeling like freshly wrung clothes. She hesitated for a moment, then remembered the hair dryer in the bedroom. She pulled it out early in the morning, her workout clothes draped over her arm, and stepped into the bathroom. She had mopped the floor the previous night, and after a night of this, the dry area in the bathroom was already dry. Su Qiong sat casually on the floor, and as her thighs touched the ground, she couldn't help but let out a hiss. It was so cold...

Su Qiong slowly put her butt on the floor and started blowing "boom boom boom" on the clothes.

After blowing for an unknown amount of time, the clothes became scorching hot. Su Qiong's hands were wet with the clothes and were blown by the hot air. She rubbed the clothes back and forth, but couldn't tell whether they were dry or not. She was just hesitating whether to blow the clothes for a while longer when Mu Yunting called her out for dinner.

Are you almost done? Su Qiong decided to change and go out for dinner.
