"What should we do?" the guard asked, somewhat flustered.

"Should we report it?" They were all unsure. "Let's wait until the doctor comes to see him before deciding."

People were running everywhere.

The entire Fuping military camp was plunged into unprecedented chaos.

The soldiers in the camp had to fight fires and salvage military supplies while also capturing the new recruits who were running away in all directions!

The leader hid in the shadows, looking at the chaotic military camp. He was breathing heavily as he gazed at the main building not far away.

Wen Ni, it's up to you now!

Inside the main building, Cong Ran was fast asleep on his double bed when he was suddenly awakened by a series of loud noises!

Hearing the loud explosion, his heart tightened. He grabbed his coat, threw it on, and rushed outside, calling out, "Juying! What's going on! What happened outside? Has the Fifth Brigade broken in?"

There was no response.

He stepped out of the bedroom; the living room was dark. His soldier's intuition told him something was wrong.

He reached into his waistband and gripped the pistol in his palm.

"Juying? Is anyone home?"

He called out a couple more times, only to find that the corridor window had been opened at some point, and a cold wind was blowing in, causing the gauze curtains to flutter.

"Who goes there! Stop playing tricks! Get your ass out here!"

"I've been standing here the whole time, how come Colonel Congran didn't see me?" A gloomy female voice rang out from behind Congran, and at the same time, the gun in his hand was snatched away, and the dark muzzle was pointed at the back of his head!

Cong Ran's pupils contracted; without turning around, he knew who was behind him. "It's...you?"

“It’s me.” Wen Ni smiled.

"Wen Ni, didn't you want to cooperate with me? Didn't you want to kill Li Shiyan?" Cong Ran stood there, slowly raising his hands in surrender, his breathing rapid. "I can help you. Let me go, and I'll help you kill him. How about it?"

"I will naturally take Li Shiyan's life." Wen Ni's voice was tinged with laughter as she leaned close to his ear. Her breath was warm, yet it chilled him to the bone. "But I want your life too!"
