Gu Jisui drove Chen Yuan to the location sent by Special Assistant Song. In the car, Chen Yuan didn't know how many times he asked about the distance.

"besides……"

"Eleven kilometers to go."

Before she could finish her words, Gu Jisui interrupted her. In the car tonight, she didn't say a word except asking herself how many miles were left.

But even if she didn't say it, Gu Jisui could see that she was uneasy.

Shen Yuan was stunned for a moment, looking a little embarrassed, "Sorry, I was too anxious."

Gu Jisui shook his head. He naturally knew Chen Yuan’s impatient heart. If he were in her place, he would feel the same way.

Chen Yuan paused, said okay, and leaned back in his chair, but couldn't fall asleep.

She stared out the window with dry eyes for nearly half an hour.

The destination was in a small town. The road was too narrow for the car to drive in, so the two had to walk in.

There were no street lights, so the two walked with flashlights for nearly five minutes, finally stopping in front of a dilapidated little house.

Chen Yuan stopped and stared at the surrounding environment. She was taken to the Shen family since she was a child. Although they were not good to her, she had enough food and clothing. Although she lived in the basement, it was still a villa.

But she could never have imagined that her biological father actually lived in this dilapidated, unfinished house, which didn't even have a window.

"What's wrong?" Gu Jisui saw her standing there in a daze and turned to look at her.

Shen Yuan came back to his senses and shook his head, "It's okay, let's go."

The two stood in front of the door and knocked habitually, but the door didn't seem to be locked. They just knocked lightly and the door creaked open by itself.

A man in the room was sitting on the bed. When he saw the door open, he subconsciously looked back.

Chen Yuan stared at the scene in front of him in a daze. The man's face was burnt black and his original appearance was no longer recognizable. He was only wearing an old man's vest and a pair of jeans with the legs cut off.

There was not a single intact spot on his skin exposed to the air. When he saw someone coming, the man subconsciously recognized the face, fearing that his appearance would scare others.

"Who are you looking for?" The man's voice was hoarse, and his throat seemed to be burned.

Chen Yuan stared at the man's back, feeling an indescribable feeling in her heart.

"Excuse me...are you Wang Weiping?"

She spoke, but her voice was trembling unnaturally. It was Special Assistant Song who told her that her biological father was called Wang Weiping.

The man paused, then said hoarsely, "I am. Do you have anything to do with me?"

Chen Yuan was stunned for a moment, then walked in with heavy legs.

"You..." Shen Yuan moved her lips, but didn't know what to say. She thought about it and changed her words.

"Is your daughter's name Wang Jingyi?"

Wang Weiping was stunned for a moment, then slowly turned around and looked at Chen Yuan.

"Yes...but she's dead. Do you have any business with her?"

A trace of sadness and guilt flashed across the man's eyes. He probably didn't know that he was not the only one who survived the fire.

"I……"

Shen Yuan didn't know how to introduce herself. Should she just tell him that she was his woman? Would he believe it?

Gu Jisui stood aside and saw Chen Yuan's dilemma.

"Uncle, take a good look at her. Does she look familiar to you?"

He pulled Shen Yuan forward, trying to make Wang Weiping recognize Shen Yuan.

But Wang Weiping just stared at Chen Yuan for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I don't know him."

Gu Jisui frowned, "She is your daughter."

Hearing this, Wang Weiping was stunned for a moment, then looked incredulous.

"My daughter is dead, and...she didn't look like this."

Gu Jisui also knew that Wang Weiping was talking about Shen Jiajia.

"That's not your biological daughter. She is. Take a closer look."

Wang Weiping was stunned for a moment. He looked at Shen Yuan carefully. How could this person be his daughter?

But after taking a look at it, he suddenly thought of something.

"Son, squat down and let me see the back of your neck."

Shen Yuan paused, but still squatted down and put her hair back.

When Wang Weiping saw the small scar on the back of Shen Yuan's neck, a hint of surprise flashed across his eyes.

He muttered quietly, "Nannan"

"You remember?"

Wang Weiping was stunned for a moment, then nodded. A hint of surprise suddenly flashed across Chen Yuan's eyes.

"Nannan, there's a burn scar on her neck. It was left when I was smoking one time and the ash fell on her neck."

Chen Yuan paused. She knew that she had a burn scar on the back of her neck, but she didn't know how it came about.

She was full of expectations, but Wang Weiping's words shattered her fantasy.

"But child, you've got the wrong person. I'm not your biological father."

Hearing this, Gu Jisui frowned, and Chen Yuan was even more surprised.

How could it be...

Wang Weiping continued, "It's not surprising that you were too young to remember anything back then. You were entrusted to me by a woman, but I never expected that one time when I went out to buy groceries, I left the door unlocked and you sneaked out. I never found you again."

Shen Yuan looked incredulous, as if he had suffered a great blow.

She is not her biological daughter, so what about Shen Jiajia?
