"No way, Madam Gu doesn't look like that kind of person."

"Oh, you can't judge a person by his appearance. Who knows?"

"I feel the same way. Otherwise, why would Miss Xu insist that she was the one who caused it?"

As the controversy grew louder, Gu Jisui became a little impatient.

"Do you all have evidence that my wife did it?"

Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent and Gu Jisui sneered.

"If you don't have any, then shut up. You are not allowed to talk about the Gu family!"

Xu Wenlou was so angry when she saw Gu Jisui protecting Chen Yuan again that her stomachache, which had just felt a little better, started to ache again.

"A Sui, you can't always protect her like this. It's because of your favoritism that she becomes so unscrupulous."

She looked innocent, as if it was really Shen Yuan who harmed her.

Upon hearing this, Gu Jisui frowned and snorted coldly.

"If you don't protect your own woman, are you going to protect outsiders?"

His words secretly widened the distance between them, and Xu Wenlou was suddenly speechless.

She was unwilling to accept it. Why? She had lived with Gu Jisui since she was a child, so they were childhood sweethearts anyway.

Why did she become an outsider when Chen Yuan came?

"Chen Yuan, why on earth did you want to hurt me? What did I do to make you hate me so much?"

Xu Wenlou's eyes were filled with tears, and he looked as if he had suffered a great injustice.

So what if she has Gu Jisui's protection? She just wants this bitch to be condemned by everyone!

Shen Yuan frowned. Shouldn't this be her line?

"Xu Wenlou, you said I tampered with the pastry. I didn't make the pastry just for you. I think everyone here ate the pastry the waiter brought, including me. Then why are others fine? Why did you get a stomachache after eating it?"

Hearing this, Xu Wenlou was stunned for a moment, "How would I know? Who knows if you tampered with my share?"

Chen Yuan sneered. Someone had indeed put drugs on a piece of cake, but that person didn't seem to be her, right?

"What evidence do you have? Why don't you bring your cakes and those from other people's houses over for testing?"

Xu Wenlou frowned, this bitch!

She had already eaten all the pastries, so what else did she need to test them with?

"I've eaten all of Chen Yuan's pastries. There's no evidence to prove anything wrong. The best evidence is Qin Yao. She saw you go to the kitchen. If you weren't there to tamper with it, then what were you doing in the kitchen?"

Hearing this, Chen Yuan paused and almost forgot about Qin Yao. No one can escape today!

"Qin Yao, since Xu Wenlou insists that you can testify for her, then why don't you tell me why I went to the kitchen at that time?"

Every time Shen Yuan spoke, he took a step closer to her. Qin Yao was frightened and stepped back repeatedly, with panic written all over her face.

Seeing this, Xu Wenlou took advantage of the situation to make some comments.

"Chen Yuan, why bother to scare her? Everyone knows that you just want to threaten her and prevent her from testifying for me."

Hearing this, Chen Yuan stared at Qin Yao until her hair almost stood up, and then sneered.

"Oh? Really?"

Qin Yao didn't dare to say a word, but her mood was like a roller coaster, ups and downs.

Chen Yuan had been observing Qin Yao until he saw the white powder between her fingernails.

She was immediately amused by Qin Yao's stupidity. She had discovered the residual white powder earlier, but she didn't expect Qin Yao to be so stupid.

Presumably, she didn't expect that she would be dragged into this by Xu Wenlou.

Chen Yuan grabbed Qin Yao's hand and lifted it up in public.

"Hey, Qin Yao, what's this white powder between your fingernails?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Yao's face suddenly changed. She came out of the kitchen and ran to find Xu Wenlou, and actually forgot to wash it!

She struggled hard, trying to pull her hand free, but the more she struggled, the tighter Shen Yuan grabbed her.

"Maybe it's powdered sugar." Qin Yao was too guilty to meet Shen Yuan's gaze and just made up a lie.

Shen Yuan chuckled, but if you didn't look closely it looked like powdered sugar.

"Really? But it looks like some kind of medicinal foam to me."

She asked the question even though she knew the answer, but Qin Yao was so frightened that she couldn't even breathe.

"How, how is it possible, you must have seen it wrong."

"Really?" Chen Yuan looked at her and said nonchalantly, "Did I see it wrong? Can't I just ask the doctor to check it out?"

Hearing this, Qin Yao immediately panicked, shook Chen Yuan off heavily, and hid her hands behind her back.

"I don't want it!"

Because she was caught off guard and was wearing high heels, she staggered a few steps and almost fell to the ground.

Fortunately, Gu Jisui was quick to support her.

"Are you okay?"

Shen Yuan shook his head and stood up again.

"Qin Yao, what are you feeling guilty about?"

She shook her head in confusion, but didn't dare look anyone in the eye.

"I don't."

Before Shen Yuan could say anything, Gu Jisui's cold voice came to his ears.

"You'll know if you test it."

As soon as he finished speaking, before Qin Yao could react, she was held down by two men and her hand was forcibly handed to the doctor.

Seeing this, Xu Wenlou also fell silent, perhaps because he felt guilty.

Qin Yao was held down and unable to move. She could only watch as the doctor used a cotton swab to remove the powder from between her fingernails.

In just a moment, the test results were in front of him.

"Mr. Gu, this is indeed not powdered sugar, but a rare medicine. Although it is fine when taken alone, it happens to conflict with soy products. Taking the two together will cause discomfort."
