Never casually save a man. If you are dazzlingly beautiful, then even more so, lest you be coveted and unable to escape.
Nan Qianyue saved not just one, but three; saving them both physically...
The masked man was startled. "How come you're all alright?"
Nanqianyue sneered, "Does he think he's so clever, treating everyone else like fools?"
A ruthless glint flashed in the masked man's eyes. "So what if they weren't drugged? Three mere people, they're still going to die!"
"Is that so?" Nan Qianyue waved, and Wei Da and Li Bing immediately gave the signal.
Under the cover of the rain, more than twenty figures flew out of the forest like ghosts, wielding their weapons, and wherever they went, someone fell.
They gave the masked men almost no time to react; their first move was to kill.
The masked men fought back fiercely, and whenever they found an opening, they would shoot arrows at the southward-moving moon.
But they were all easily blocked by Wei Da and Li Bing.
In less than fifteen minutes, only one masked man remained on the enemy side.
He was pinned to the ground by the guards, who then removed the poison from his mouth.
"Giddy up." Nan Qianyue rode her horse up to the masked man, glancing down at him. "Tell me, where are my mother and sister?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the guard chopped off one of the masked man's fingers.
The masked man howled in pain, "I'll talk, I'll talk! It's...it's in the woodshed on the east side of the mountain!"
"Let him lead the way!" Nan Qianyue really wanted to kill him.
She also implicated her mother and sister.
Why do people always want to kill her, and why do they always target her family?
It's best to prevent her from finding the mastermind. This time, we will not let those villains get away with it.
Dongshan means Dongfang Mountain Forest, and the firewood shed was built by the monks in the temple.
The mountain road is too rugged to ride a horse.
The group that migrated south could only walk inside.
Wei Da and Li Bing could use their light-footed skills to carry Yue south, which would be faster.
But they dared not.
Nan Qianyue's dress was almost completely soaked, and the guards didn't even dare to look at her directly, let alone carry her away.
They could have left Miss Nan at Yeting while they sent men to Dongshan to rescue her, but to prevent further attacks by villains, they dared not disperse their forces and had to come to Dongshan together.
As darkness fell, it became nearly nighttime as we entered the mountains.
“We’re here, that’s it.” The masked man pointed with a trembling hand to a large woodshed.
Nanqianyue lifted her wet skirt and rushed over, calling out, "Mother! Sister!"
Wei Da and Li Bing followed closely beside Nan Qianyue, while Li Bing leaped to the door of the woodshed and kicked it open.
It was pitch black, I couldn't see anything.
But one thing is certain: there's no one inside.
"Mother? Sister?" Nan Qianyue ran to the door and called out inside.
Veda pursed his lips into a straight line. "There's no one inside."
After saying that, he took out a tinderbox and blew on it.
The faint light spread out, and the outline of the woodshed could be roughly seen. It was full of firewood, and there was no one there.
"Speak, where is he!" The guards pressed the masked man firmly to the ground, tightening their grip on his arm little by little.
The masked man convulsed in pain, "I...I don't know...the person is locked up here...there are four guards..."
Nan Qianyue couldn't hide her panic. "Quick, check for blood!"
"Yes." Wei Da entered the woodshed with a tinderbox, checking every corner. "Don't worry, Miss Nan, there's no blood."
“But there are signs of a struggle.” Li Bing frowned as she looked at the marks on the door, which were clearly made just today.
Nan Qianyue followed his gaze, her pupils seemingly frozen. "This is... a knife wound?"
"It should be," Li Bing said.
“Miss Nan, since there’s some dry firewood here, let me start a fire for you. Please stand inside the woodshed; don’t get caught in the rain outside,” Wei Da said, facing the piles of firewood.
Nan Qianyue clenched her fists, then suddenly turned and walked up to the masked man. She took the short knife from the guard and held it to the masked man's neck. "Who sent you? Speak."
The masked man's teeth chattered as he was forced to the ground by the guards, only the gleaming knife against his neck visible. "I...I am..."
He dared not say it, for he had already prepared to commit suicide by poison, but the poison was dug out, and he could not die a quick death. He was not afraid of death, but he was afraid of being tortured.
"Southward Migration Month!"
A deep and powerful voice pierced the air.
The treetops crackled in the rain, and a dark figure flew over, stepping on the tree trunk.
"Qin Yi!" Nan Qianyue was overjoyed, and the panic that had been weighing on her heart could no longer be contained and was released in its entirety.
When I was embraced in a warm hug, my nose tingled and my eyes instantly burned.
"Why didn't you tell me before you came out?" Qin Yi held her tightly in his arms, his eyes, which seemed to be blaming her but were actually full of heartache, staring at her wet hair.
As warmth arrived, Yue, who had migrated south, finally felt the chill all over her body.
She trembled slightly as she said, "You, you said you were busy these past few days and would contact Weida if you needed anything."
"Why aren't you usually this obedient? Next time something like this happens, come to me immediately." Qin Yi scolded in a low voice, his stern exterior concealing deep affection.
"My mother and sister are missing!" Nan Qianyue snapped out of her daze, looking up urgently. "They're not here!"
"They were rescued by Grand Commandant Song and brought back to the capital." Qin Yi said succinctly, his eyes, hidden in the darkness, revealing a cold glint.
"She was saved by Grand Commandant Song?" Nan Qianyue found it hard to believe.
Qin Yi said no more, bent down, picked her up, and walked into the woodshed.
"Start a fire," he said coldly.
Veda straightened his back and said, "Yes!" Then he deftly started a fire.
Standing anxiously at the door, Li Bing looked at the dark forest and thought, "Why isn't the lord here yet? He doesn't even know how to seize such a good opportunity to show his abilities."
The firelight rose, illuminating the entire woodshed.
Nan Qianyue was held in Qin Yi's arms as he sat, his wide sleeves covering her body so that only her head and calves were visible.
