Never casually save a man. If you are dazzlingly beautiful, then even more so, lest you be coveted and unable to escape.
Nan Qianyue saved not just one, but three; saving them both physically...
It was a servant from the bronze-level private room who called out, and the Xie family girl even smiled in her direction.
Nan Qianyue nodded slightly in response, but she was puzzled as to why the Xie family girl had suddenly greeted her.
Nan Yichu, standing on the north side of the Jiazi observation deck, hurriedly gripped the clothes on her knees.
Why would the Xie family's daughter be interested in a dagger? And to make matters worse, she doubled the price in one go!
This is just blatant price gouging.
"Young master, I just saw Miss Xie smile at our eldest daughter." The page boy squatted down next to Nan Yichu, his eyes wide open.
"What?" Nan Yichu's scrutinizing gaze darted back and forth between Nan Qianyue and Miss Xie. "Are you sure you didn't see wrong?"
The page nodded firmly, "I'm absolutely sure I didn't see wrong."
"That's terrible." Nan Yichu's angry gaze shot towards Nan Qianyue. "She must have done it on purpose, deliberately letting the Xie family girl take the dagger! To prevent me from getting what I wanted!"
The pageboy was puzzled. "Young master, actually I think..."
"Shut up!" Nan Yichu slapped the pageboy on the head. "Go! Add another thousand taels!"
He must get this dagger today!
The pageboy covered his head in frustration, "Young master, do you have that much money...?"
Nan Yichu kicked the pageboy, and seeing that the auctioneer was about to finalize the deal, he immediately stood up and announced loudly, "Twenty-one thousand taels!"
The nobleman personally called out the price for the Jiazi number, instantly drawing everyone's attention.
Nan Qianyue frowned. Did this brat even know what he was doing? How could he possibly have so much money?
She met Nan Yichu's provocative gaze, and just as she was wondering what was going on, Xie Yanzhou's gentle voice rang out.
"Qianqian, don't worry." Xie Yanzhou smiled at Nan Qianyue.
Nan Qianyue withdrew her gaze and turned to Xie Yanzhou, "You like that dagger?"
Xie Yanzhou smiled gently, "You are good at close combat, so this dagger is perfect for you. I was thinking of buying it and giving it to you, but since your brother is so insistent, let him have it."
Nanqianyue smiled awkwardly but politely, "Oh, is that so?" He probably didn't have the money to buy it.
But then again, Xie Yanzhou really knows her.
"Twenty-five thousand vehicles!"
The auctioneer's voice became excited, and everyone followed him to look at the Silver Shop's private room. There, in the main seats, sat a woman wearing a veiled hat and dressed in gorgeous clothes, and a man in a brocade robe.
Those with some knowledge had already recognized the two individuals.
Nanqianyue breathed a sigh of relief; now her brat wouldn't have to worry about money.
However, just as she breathed a sigh of relief, she heard her brother, who was always asking for trouble, yell again, "Twenty-six thousand taels!"
"Miss, it seems the young master doesn't have that much money." The woman in green began to worry, after all, the young master was the young lady's younger brother.
Nanqianyue: "..." Now both siblings are quite embarrassed.
The younger brother pretends to be rich because he has no money, and the older sister sits in the living room because she has no money.
"Qianqian, don't worry, I'm here." Xie Yanzhou comforted her again, his eyes filled with a hint of affection.
Nan Qianyue gave him a forced smile, "You flatter me."
...So this is what it feels like to be poor.
The princess on the Silver Ship's viewing platform showed disdain. She raised her hand, and the servant raised the sign again.
Thirty thousand taels!
The auctioneer now looked directly at Nan Yichu, whose number was Jiazi on the north side, and asked, "Young Master Nan, would you like to raise the bid?"
Nan Qianyue stared intently at her brainless younger brother, hoping he wouldn't utter another sound.
"Thirty-one thousand taels!!" Nan Yichu went mad.
The southward migration left them bewildered.
"Miss!" The woman in green breathed a sigh of relief for the young master.
Nan Qianyue closed her eyes, rubbing her temples helplessly. Since he had brought trouble upon himself, she would let him be. Lessons from the outside world were more effective than those from her family.
Upstairs, the eldest princess saw Nanqianyue's appearance and immediately curled into a smug sneer. Just as she was about to raise her hand to increase the price, a gasp from the audience spread throughout the entire venue.
"Sky lanterns! The Xie family has lit sky lanterns!"
"The last time we lit sky lanterns was two years ago!"
The princess lowered her hand in astonishment. This Xie family... had repeatedly opposed her!
"Royal brother, your cousin is incredibly arrogant!" the princess said through gritted teeth.
The second prince looked at the figure in white in the hall, and felt rather displeased.
Nanqianyue was no stranger to sky lanterns, but this was in ancient times, and there was a premise that she was very poor, so she couldn't help but take a few more glances at the hanging lanterns.
Xie Yanzhou's gaze was almost glued to Nan Qianyue's face. Her slightly upturned lips and tender, sparkling eyes made it obvious to even a fool that the young master of the Xie family was spending a fortune to win the beauty's favor.
On the other side of the Gold Ship, Qingyi was both worried and enduring the cold aura emanating from the prince.
I should have worn more clothes when I went out.
"Your Highness, what are your plans?" he couldn't help but ask.
Qin Yi's icy gaze seemed to pierce through Xie Yanzhou. Xie Shizi's eldest son, wasn't he always mingling in the martial arts world? When exactly did he get involved with Nan Qianyue?
One prince of Nan Jing was already a headache enough, and now another one has appeared.
The key is that they are all more pleasing to him than he is.
"Young Master Nan, the Xie family has lit sky lanterns, what do you think?"
The auctioneer looked at Nan Yichu, leaving his words unsaid. Nan Yichu understood; if he wanted the dagger, he had to fight the Xie family in a lantern contest.
But he doesn't have the money to fight.
Nan Yichu sat down dejectedly, but didn't forget to throw a resentful glare at Nan Qianyue.
Hmph, I knew this older sister wasn't a good person. She conspired with outsiders to frame him. His older sister is much better.
"Then this dagger belongs to the Xie family!" The auctioneer beckoned for Xiao Si to wrap it up and prepare it for the Xie family.
