Seal (Part 1)
"Curse?" Kulin and Ying Yungui were both shocked. "If it is really a curse, that guy has an energy level of at least level 7." This is easy to infer, because in Kulin's temporary team, the remaining three ability users are at least level 5, and the energy body that can instantly devour them definitely needs a higher level than them.
Moreover, there were far more domains like this appearing on the edge of Area 7. Taking the overall situation into consideration, Level 7 was already the lowest and most extreme energy level of this "Cursed" psychic.
The contact at the command center spoke with no emotion in his voice. He answered robotically, "The decision-making team is absolutely confident about the upcoming sealing operation. You don't need to be overly nervous. Just wait for support in the green safety zone."
"..." Kulin and Ying Yungui looked at each other, "Got it."
The expansion speed of the "domain" was obviously more than ten times faster than before, which caused considerable psychological pressure on both of them. While waiting for support, the two of them kept adjusting their positions, keeping themselves in the green safe zone while constantly approaching the southeast of Area 7.
Ying Yungui was obviously getting restless. He kept refreshing the information on the association forum, trying to collect more useful clues, but the relevant posts and replies would be deliberately suppressed before the incident was resolved, so he had no choice but to become more anxious.
Fortunately, the association's support arrived two hours later.
The person who came was no stranger to Ying Yungui and Kulin. He was Labriel Belmond, the direct grandson of the current president of the association, Florovich Belmond. He was also a former partner of the Alpha team, but they did not belong to the same team.
Labriel landed directly from the mountainous area on the back of a giant sky eagle. He inherited the Belmond family's oldest and most typical supernatural power, "summoning", and the giant sky eagle was one of the summoned creatures he tamed.
"Oh, you two are acquaintances." After seeing Ying Yungui and Kulin, Labire continued to smile. Because he didn't really think this mission was that important. Even though he was sent to support the association headquarters, he emphasized the key points of this mission before departure.
Labriel is an extremely conceited person. Born into the world's top supernatural family, Belmond, and with a grandfather who is the president of an association, he has lived a more comfortable life than others since he was a child.
So, despite being older than Ying Yungui and Kulin, he still hasn't reached the threshold of a Level 7 psychic, and he still doesn't think his abilities are inferior to others. According to him, there's simply no need for him to take the risk of taking the Level 7 assessment. Even if he's not officially certified as a Level 7 psychic, he still enjoys privileges superior to others, such as being able to join the Alpha team without any obstacles.
Ying Yungui naturally looked down upon such a "companion". Even Kulin, who usually attached great importance to family diplomatic relations, was unwilling to have too much communication with someone like Labriel.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't we send a high-level psychic to seal it?" Kulin asked.
Labril waved his hand, retracting the giant sky eagle and rolling his eyes. "It's just sealing a small domain. Besides, the decision-making team has already found its weak point. How difficult can it be? It's a good opportunity to test out my newly acquired item."
As he spoke, he formed a summoning gesture with his fingers, and the sky above the three of them was suddenly covered with dark clouds. The entire sky became gloomy, and it looked like a torrential rain was about to pour down.
Three golden lights suddenly appeared in the sky, and then the golden lights broke through the gray clouds and fell to the earth, building three ladders between heaven and earth.
Labirel whistled: "Look, the Hun Tian Lock, with it, it is no problem to seal any domain." What he said was true. The Hun Tian Lock was one of the artifacts that signed a generational contract with the Belmond family. It carried a powerful spatial attribute power and was the best way to use it for sealing.
However, the number of Hun Tian Suo that could be summoned depended on the ability of the summoner. Ying Yungui knew that President Frowich had once summoned nine Hun Tian Suo, while Labirel had only summoned three.
Ying Yungui's eyes seemed to reveal some contempt, and Labairier said angrily: "To seal a domain of this level, three Hun Tian Locks are more than enough. Quickly pass the data to me so I can adjust the position!"
As soon as the words "more than enough" were uttered, Kulin couldn't help but frown. Even the dumbest person knew that two lines couldn't connect to form a whole, and three Hun Tian Locks were the minimum requirement for activating the seal. But now, as the direct descendant of the family, La Bairiel could actually say such a thing.
"..." Kulin sighed softly in his heart, but had no choice but to synchronously transmit the data he had been carefully scanning and recording to Labriel.
Looking at the precise and constantly changing data in front of him, Labrier chuckled: "I thought it was so big, it's just this big, look at me!" As he spoke, the three golden Hun Tian Locks began to move, and wherever they passed, a layer of light was visibly covered.
The high ground the three of them were on was already the border between the Ikaros and Linkaros Mountains. Ying Yungui estimated that he was no more than three A-city distances away from Shi Youchen. If the northeastern region continued to expand, it would probably reach Shi Youchen's location by sunset.
"Fortunately, no matter how unreliable this guy Labrier is, he can still seal a domain with the Hun Tian Lock." Just when Ying Yungui thought so in his heart, Labrier made a move that no one expected.
On the screen provided by Kulin, data and images showed that the area framed by the three Hun Tian Locks had completely covered the area of the expanding domain. However, not only did Labriel not control the Hun Tian Locks to stop, but he made them open further, making the covered area even larger.
"What are you doing? You can start sealing it now." Ying Yungui's heart skipped a beat, not sure what the other party was trying to do.
Labirel paid no attention, continuing to manipulate the Hun Tian Lock to expand its coverage area. "I see there are connections to the north and south. Let's just take some of the pressure off our companions. After all, they don't have a handy artifact like the Hun Tian Lock."
In fact, at this point, Labril is already close to his limit, but in front of Ying Yungui and Kulin, he cannot be looked down upon no matter what. This is not only a matter of his personal face, but also concerns the dignity of the entire Belmond family.
And if he could do well this time, his grandfather would help him conquer more powerful artifacts when he returned. Then he would see who would dare to look down on him. Labirelle thought so, and even though the veins on his forehead were bulging, he did not stop.
Ying Yungui's ominous premonition became even stronger, but at this moment he couldn't directly stop Labriel. He could only persuade him verbally: "Enough, stop it, there's no need to go to this extent."
The association sent more than one sealing expert, Labriel, so there was really no need for him to do anything extra. It would be enough as long as he could properly implement the seal of this area. Unfortunately, Labriel was a guy with this kind of personality.
Kulin was also anxiously watching the domain that should have disappeared long ago expand larger and larger. He wondered how many creatures would be devoured by it in this extra time.
Finally, when Labirel felt his energy was almost exhausted, he stopped deploying the Hun Tian Lock and prepared to proceed to the next step of sealing. At this point, the data showed that the Hun Tian Lock's coverage area had already more than doubled.
Of the three Hun Tian Suos now, one is rooted at the northeast corner peak of the Ikaros Mountains, one has landed in the wild area close to the east of the center of Area 7, and the other one, because of the current location of the three people, is just staying at the northwest junction between the Ikaros Mountains and the Linkalos Mountains.
Labriel's palms slowly moved towards the center. Ying Yungui and Kulin could see that the golden light on the Hun Tian Lock closest to the three of them became more dazzling, which was a sign of activating the seal.
Both of them breathed a sigh of relief that it was finally coming to an end.
However, at this moment, scarlet blood flowed from Labriel's ears and nose, and his palm stopped three centimeters away, and did not successfully complete the seal.
A crisp, snapping sound echoed across the sky. Where the southernmost of the three Hun Tian Chains met the sky, dark clouds slowly dissipated, revealing the sky's natural state. Kulin could see that the energy within the Hun Tian Chain had already begun to fracture, even affecting the surrounding environment, which had begun to distort noticeably.
"Labriel!" Kulin's call failed to awaken Labriel's sanity.
He was in so much pain that he couldn't bear it anymore and chose to give up on repairing the Hun Tian Lock that was about to break.
Labriel's palms finally closed, but the obvious misalignment showed that the seal was not completed successfully.
The two Hun Tian Locks in the northeast corner and east of the center were still firmly rooted, but the most critical Hun Tian Lock in the triangle, which was also the one closest to the three people, dissipated the moment Labriel closed his palms.
When a triangle fixes two corners and one side, if there is a problem with the remaining corner, the first reaction of the things that should be framed inside will definitely be to rush towards the weakest direction.
Just as what was shown on the screen and what Kulin saw, the energy of the "domain" rushed madly towards the direction of the three people.
"Let's go!" Ying Yungui reacted quickly, grabbed Kulin and Labriel's arms and disappeared on the spot.
...
"Let go!" Labriel's face turned pale as he struggled to break free from Ying Yungui's hand. "Where are we? We should go north! That's where it's safe!"
"Shut up, you piece of shit." Ying Yungui's face was as gloomy as a quagmire. He looked coldly at the ignorant guy in front of him and said, "Do you think you can just walk away after making a mess? If you don't clean up this, even if Flovitch is here, he can't save you."
Perhaps it was his overly harsh tone that shocked Labrier, or perhaps it was because Labrier himself knew how big a disaster he had caused, and he actually shuddered.
After scanning the surrounding data, Kulin said somewhat exhaustedly: "This place is still on its predicted path. Is there any way to continue sealing it?" He said to Labriel.
"I..." Labriel was covered in cold sweat. He no longer had the energy to summon the Hun Tian Chain again. In fact, when the Hun Tian Chain shattered just now, it absorbed 10% of his energy. Now he was in a state of overdraft. "I don't know."
The words "I don't know" completely infuriated Ying Yungui. Labriel was knocked back several steps by the punch and stepped into the edge of a small lake that was half dried up, and fell into it.
"You!" Labriel knew he was in the wrong, and he swallowed the curse words back into his stomach after just saying one word. He didn't even have the strength to stand up, and just sat in a mess by the muddy lake.
Ying Yungui almost bit his lower lip until it bled. He glared at Labriel who had his head hung down, wondering what to do.
Just as he was about to remove all the restrictors from his body and fight a last-ditch battle, Kulin's weak voice came from the side: "Stop... Stop!"
