Chapter 82 Yan Wan, Have I ever told you that I love you very much?

The men in black surrounded Ji Mohan and Yan Wan. The two rode their horses, warily watching their surroundings as the men in black relentlessly pursued them.

Is Ji Mo'an determined to kill them because he's afraid they'll spread the news that he's alive?

But it's too late. Father Emperor should be finding out soon that Uncle An is still alive.

"Wan'er, I'll hold them off for a bit, you go first." Ji Mohan whispered in Yan Wan's ear. The two of them had been forced away from their group by the men in black, and this was going to be disadvantageous for them.

"No, we'll go together. We'll live together, we'll die together." Yan Wan looked at Ji Mohan with her bright eyes, determined. She would never abandon him and leave alone.

Seeing Yan Wan's determined expression, Ji Mohan wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his embrace. He glanced at the men in black, found a relatively weak spot, squeezed his horse's flanks tightly, and charged forward.

The men in black were surprised that they could still put up such a stubborn resistance. They drew their swords and gave chase, while others nocked arrows and fired them in the direction the two men were.

Ji Mohan handed the reins to Yan Wan, letting her control the direction, while he drew his sword and began to stab at the pursuing men in black and deflect the arrows that were being shot at him.

However, there were simply too many arrows being shot at him, and Ji Mohan gradually became exhausted. Before he knew it, two arrows were shot into his back. Ji Mohan felt a metallic taste rising in his throat. He circulated his inner energy to suppress it. Yan Wan felt the person behind her swaying slightly. She turned her head and saw that Ji Mohan's lips were blue, his whole body was deathly pale, and he was sweating profusely.

Yan Wan was extremely anxious, unsure of what to do. She looked at the man in black behind her and forced herself to calm down. Now, both her and Ji Mohan's lives depended on her.

Yan Wan raised her hand and pulled the hairpin out of her hair. With a determined heart, she grabbed Ji Mohan with one hand and used the hairpin to stab the horse in the other. The horse, in pain, ran even faster.

Yan Wan glanced behind her worriedly, only to see that the two of them were getting further and further away from the man in black. She shook Ji Mohan's arm anxiously and asked, "How are you? Can you still hold on?"

Ji Mohan had been hit by four or five arrows; the poison was too potent, and he couldn't suppress it with his internal energy. He wanted to comfort Yan Wan and tell her he was alright. However, as soon as he opened his mouth, a mouthful of black blood spurted out, and Ji Mohan vomited on the ground. He felt himself gradually losing strength and could no longer even sit on his horse.

"Hanhan, Hanhan, hang in there." Yan Wan's tears were streaming down her face.

Ji Mohan shakily raised his hand to wipe away Yan Wan's tears, then slowly lowered his head and buried it in Yan Wan's neck. He felt that he was about to die.

With a thud, Ji Mohan fell off his horse, rolled twice on the ground, and lay motionless. Yan Wan hurriedly turned her head to look back and saw that Ji Mohan had fallen. She grabbed the reins tightly, trying to stop the horse, but the horse had gone mad and couldn't be stopped.

Yan Wan had no choice but to grit her teeth, close her eyes, and jump off the horse from the side. With a thud, Yan Wan landed on the ground and rolled a few times. Ignoring the pain, she hurriedly stood up and limped toward Ji Mohan.

She looked back anxiously; the men in black were catching up quickly. Yan Wan ran over and hugged Ji Mohan, checking his nose with her hand. He was just unconscious. Relieved, Yan Wan took out a healing pill from her bosom and fed it to Ji Mohan.

This pill was something she got on credit from the system; no matter what, she had to save Ji Mohan's life first.

Yan Wan laboriously dragged Ji Mohan into a nearby ditch. On her way back, she swept away the marks left by dragging Ji Mohan with a branch, then hurriedly ran to the ditch and lay down beside Ji Mohan. Just as she finished this series of actions, the man in black caught up with her.

Yan Wan felt her heart pounding in her throat. She held her breath and dared not make a sound. The men in black looked at each other, stared at the hoofprints on the ground, and then chased after them.

After all the men in black left, Yan Wan slowly climbed out of the pit. She saw a village to the west, so she decided to settle there first and continue her journey once Ji Mohan recovered.

Yan Wan returned to the pit, pulled Ji Mohan up from the ground, and with her thin body carrying the tall adult man, she walked shakily towards the village.

There was no one left in the village; the villagers must have fled to escape the disaster. Yan Wan didn't dare go into any of the more conspicuous houses, so she chose a small, less eye-catching one. She slowly helped Ji Mohan inside and had him sit down by the door.

Yan Wan tidied up the bed, took out water and food from her spatial storage, poured a little water into a basin, and tidied up the house a bit.

Yan Wan then went over and helped Ji Mohan lie face down on the bed. There was an arrow in his back, and it still needed to be removed. Yan Wan gently removed Ji Mohan's clothes, and by the time she had taken off his upper body, she was already covered in sweat.

She then took the candle from the room, lit it with a tinderbox, and then took out the razor-sharp dagger she had previously obtained from the system, which could cut hair like mud, and gently placed it on the fire to sterilize it.

Yan Wan looked at Ji Mohan's face, which was covered in sweat from the pain, and felt a pang of heartache. Then, she took out her handkerchief and stuffed it into Ji Mohan's mouth. The arrowhead was poisoned and had to be cleaned in time, otherwise even if the antidote pill could cure all poisons, it would be useless.

Yan Wan glanced firmly at the disinfected dagger, then at Ji Mohan, gritted her teeth, and gently dug out the arrow from Ji Mohan's body with the dagger.

Ji Mohan groaned in pain, jolting awake. He lay on his side on the pillow, looking at Yan Wan's serious face. It didn't seem so bad, did it?

When Yan Wan saw that Ji Mohan had woken up, she said worriedly, "You're awake? I'm helping you get these poisoned arrows out. Just bear with it for a bit."

Ji Mohan smiled indifferently. These injuries were nothing. He had suffered much more serious injuries before. However, when he was injured before, Yan Wan was not by his side, and he had to bear it all by himself.

If he survives, he lives; if he doesn't, he dies. Anyway, nobody cares about him.

But now he has Yan Wan, and he has someone he cares about, and someone who cares about him, by his side.

Seeing that Ji Mohan was still able to smile despite his serious injuries, Yan Wan realized he seemed to be in good condition and needed to quickly get the other arrows out as well.

After Yan Wan pulled out the four or five arrows from Ji Mohan's body, she quickly took out wound medicine and gauze to bandage him up. Ji Mohan was still lying there looking at her. Yan Wan wet a handkerchief and gently wiped the sweat from Ji Mohan's forehead. She also wanted to wash her hands, which were covered in Ji Mohan's blood.

Just as Yan Wan got up to wash her hands, Ji Mohan suddenly said, "Yan Wan, have I ever told you that I love you very much?"

Yan Wan stopped walking out and turned around in surprise to look at Ji Mohan. He had fainted again, and those words he had just said were spoken with great effort.

Yan Wan gently walked to Ji Mohan's side and squatted down, lowered her head and pecked Ji Mohan's thin lips, saying, "I love you very much too."
