Chapter 182 Evil Spirits (12)

How can anyone actually go to such lengths? She's already dead, yet they still use this method to summon her soul.

Just as Yan Li was about to mentally complain about Wen Hao's perverted behavior, she saw him about to fall onto the chair behind him like a rootless duckweed. Only then did she notice that the cut on his hand was still bleeding.

“Wen Hao, if it weren’t for you, I would have been reincarnated long ago, and who knows, I would be some rich young lady now,” Yan Li said, her voice weaker, but she still spoke slowly and deliberately, trying to awaken Wen Hao’s conscience.

She slowly squatted down, raised her hand, and pressed her fingertips against the wound to stop the bleeding, continuing, "You don't need to use this painful method to keep me here. You could marry a normal, beautiful woman sooner..."

The injuries on Wen Hao's arm were intricate and complex; she couldn't even tell whether he intended to take care of her or really planned to use them to kill her.

Upon hearing this, Wen Hao grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms. His eyes darkened slightly, filled with a deep light, and he said calmly, "Ah Li doesn't think I told you this so you would feel sorry for me, does she?"

She was not heavy, even as light as a feather, as if she would be scattered between heaven and earth with a gust of wind.

But the more this happened, the more Wen Hao wanted to hold her tightly, so that no one could try to separate them.

Yan Li: ...

Isn't that what you mean?

Seeing the blank look on Yan Li's face, Wen Hao couldn't help but chuckle. "I just want to tell you, Ah Li, you are now under my care. You can never leave me. Even if I die, you won't be able to get away."

A gust of cold wind blew in through the window.

Unfortunately, the butler outside the door saw them.

Immediately afterwards, Butler Hu pushed open the study door and saw Wen Hao slumped alone at the desk, with a deep, bone-revealing knife wound on his exposed arm. He stared blankly at the sight.

He thought the adults' problems were cured, but now it seems he was too naive.

"My lord, you can't be so foolish. Miss has been gone for three years. If she were still alive, she certainly wouldn't want to see you like this."

Butler Hu was unaware that the two main characters he mentioned were present. He hurriedly took a small wooden box from the bookshelf next to him, took out the medicine, and began to bandage Wen Hao.

"She doesn't want to see it?" Wen Hao murmured, looking at the wound that Butler Hu had bandaged, but his eyes were fixed on Yan Li sitting by the window.

Yan Li stared intently, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Wen Hao, if you die, no one will risk their life to support me like you have."

"No one will take care of you."

"We might end up separated by death."

Wen Hao froze completely.

While still bandaging Wen Hao, Butler Hu nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, thinking that the lord had finally listened to him, and said without hesitation:

"Yes, sir. Miss is kind-hearted; how could she bear to see you harm yourself?"

"She would certainly hope that the adults are healthy, safe and live a long life."

As he spoke, he glanced up and saw the indescribable blood-stained bowl on the table. He wanted to dispose of it, but fearing that Wen Hao would go mad again, he could only sigh.

But Yan Li burst out laughing when she heard this.

Threaten her.

I was hoping she would feel sorry for me.

She's turned into a demon, what good could she possibly be?

Yan Li quietly looked at Wen Hao, pondering when he had become so mad. It seemed to be three years ago, on the day he married her.

It also seems to have been around the time her parents passed away.

She's been immersed in her own world for too long.

Butler Hu left.

Just as she closed the study door, she saw Wen Hao lost in thought, reaching out to grab something. She quickly looked away and turned around.

In the courtyard, the swing under the crooked tree remained motionless. He clenched his fist, stared at it for a while, and then went to the front hall.

He was also bewildered, actually thinking that what the two servants said might not be false, and suspecting that ghosts really exist in this world, and that their own young lady's ghost had already returned.

Butler Hu rubbed his head, shaking off all the unrealistic thoughts in his mind.

In the study.

"Come here," Wen Hao called softly, seemingly unconcerned about Yan Li's earlier sarcasm.

But Yan Li didn't want to stay a second longer and tried to slip away through the window without thinking. But the next moment, a red thread wrapped around her wrist.

He was immediately trapped in place, unable to move an inch.

"Ah Li, come here..."

If there were any living people near the study, they would definitely be terrified by this scene.

It is truly shocking, even absurd, that the Crown Prince's tutor and the emperor's most trusted minister would call out his deceased wife's name to thin air.

Yan Li tugged at the red string on her wrist and couldn't help but laugh in exasperation. She retorted, "Could this also be a gift from that Master Liaochen?" She never expected Wen Hao to have such a trick up his sleeve.

Absolutely outrageous!

Seeing that Yan Li did not move, Wen Hao was not annoyed. He took the initiative to pick Yan Li up and put him on the table next to him, knocking over papers and ink on the floor.

However, the origin of the red threads on their hands was not explained.

"Wen Hao, what do you want to do?" Yan Li finally panicked. She passively braced herself with her hands on either side of her body to avoid being pressed down on the table by him, with most of her body leaning back.

Wen Hao's fingertips landed on Yan Li's skin, radiating endless heat, as if they wanted to melt her.

She instinctively turned her head to the side.

The kiss failed.

He chuckled softly.

The next moment, he grasped Yan Li's chin and kissed her decisively, a soft sound escaping his lips, "Ah Li~"
