After Becoming Widowed, I Inherited a Billion-Dollar Fortune

To protect her billion-dollar fortune, the newly widowed Su Jin is forced to get married again.

After the wedding, the two agreed not to interfere with each other and not to affect each other...

Chapter 74 Young Master Zheng's Deep Schemes

For him, coming here was already giving his brother enough face. If Song Leilei hadn't persuaded him, he would have gone home to play games by now. How could he possibly be here celebrating a woman's birthday?

Bai Qingchi stared at the knife, panting slightly, "Why are you targeting me like this? You're all targeting me. Did Zheng Lin tell you to do this?"

"That's not important." Xu Jingzhi crossed his arms and looked at her arrogantly. "Hurry up and blow it, forget it."

Xu Jingzhi fanned the candle, extinguishing it with a gust of wind from his palm.

He plunged the knife into the cake, completing the final step. "All done. Have a wonderful birthday."

Xu Jingzhi came quickly and left even faster.

Bai Qingchi's face turned pale with anger. He picked up a knife and stabbed the cake wildly while yelling, as if he had gone mad.

The waiters and other customers in the restaurant all turned to look at her, saying, "This crazy woman looks just like Bai Qingchi."

Upon hearing that someone recognized her, Bai Qingchi immediately covered her face with her bag and fled the restaurant in that position.

Back at the hotel where the film crew was staying, Su Jin piled all the clothes she had bought in a corner, and Zheng Lin took the initiative to help her organize them.

Su Jin lay on the bed, cupping her face in her hands, watching him tidy up. "Wow, I never expected my husband to be so virtuous."

The virtuous Zheng Lin rummaged through a pile of new clothes and pulled out a very short, pale yellow nightgown. He hooked the nightgown up with his fingertips and looked back at Su Jin.

Su Jin's smile froze instantly, her gaze fixed on the nightgown.

This nightgown is short and sexy, but the color is very refreshing.

But... she didn't buy it!

She swore she absolutely, positively did not buy that nightgown!

Today, she and Leilei bought clothes for everyday outings, so how did this nightgown end up in her bag?

Zheng Lin stared at Su Jin, who became nervous and hurriedly tried to deny it, saying in a weak voice, "I...I...I didn't buy this, really not. You have to believe me, why would I wear something like this?"

"Put it on and let me see." Zheng Lin smiled.

Su Jin immediately sat up, waving her hands together and said, "It's really not mine. Tell me, maybe Lei Lei bought it."

She thought to herself, "That's not a good way to put it. I can't smear Leilei." She slapped her thigh and shook her head, "Then it probably wasn't Leilei who bought it. It must have been bought by another customer, and the clerk put it in the wrong place."

Zheng Lin: "That's true, it doesn't seem like your style. Go take a shower and go to bed early."

Su Jin glanced at the time; it was already nine o'clock. She quickly got out of bed, grabbed her pajamas, and went to take a shower.

Before entering the bathroom, Su Jin opened the door and poked her head out, saying, "Please close the door for me before you leave, and be careful not to let the other crew members see you."

Zheng Lin agreed, "Okay."

Zheng Lin hung up the clothes, and upon hearing the sound of water in the bathroom, he picked up the nightgown he had just worn, went into the bathroom, and secretly switched the nightgown with the nightgown.

He tore off the bear-patterned pajamas, placed the nightgown on top, turned around and came out with a smile on his lips, concealing his accomplishment and fame.

Half an hour later, Su Jin turned off the shower and went out to look for her pajamas in the bathroom, but only found that super short nightgown.

What happened? Did you take the wrong one?

What's wrong with his brain? He must have gone crazy from memorizing lines lately; he didn't even realize he'd grabbed the wrong thing.

How am I supposed to wear this?

She thought for a moment, then poked her head out from the door and called out sweetly, "Um, I just grabbed the wrong pajamas. Could you please get me my real pajamas?"

The room was silent; no one responded.

Su Jin leaned out a little, revealing only a bit of her collarbone, and then she saw Zheng Lin lying on his side asleep on the bed.

Su Jin: "......"

He fell asleep so quickly today.

Unable to find any help, Su Jin didn't dare to walk out of the bathroom completely naked, so she could only fix her gaze on the pale yellow nightgown.

Su Jin finally came out wearing a pale yellow nightgown and went straight to the wardrobe.

She searched the entire closet but couldn't find any pajamas; it seemed all of them had vanished.

She walked to the bedside, unplugged her phone which was charging, sat down on the edge of the bed and texted Leilei, asking if she had any pajamas to borrow.

Before she could finish typing, a large hand appeared on her waist and pulled her onto the bed.

"Ah!" Su Jin exclaimed in surprise.

She turned around and saw Zheng Lin staring straight at her with his eyes wide open.

"What are you looking for?" Zheng Lin asked in a low voice.

"Looking for my pajamas, this is so strange, all my pajamas are gone. I suspect there's a pervert in the hotel who steals women's pajamas." Su Jin pressed her hand on Zheng Lin's wrist, completely forgetting what she was wearing and not bothering to cover herself up. "Should we call the police? If we don't, this pervert will definitely take advantage of us."

After saying all this, Su Jin finally noticed what Zheng Lin was looking at.

She pulled up the blanket and wrapped herself in it, and suddenly understood everything that had happened.

Su Jin only showed her head, "Oh, you took my pajamas, you bastard!"

Zheng Lin smiled slyly as he reached under the covers and pulled Su Jin out.

A rough, large hand grabbed her ankle and pulled her down, then the blanket was thrown off.

The two faced each other again.

Su Jin: "......"

"Where are you looking? Close your eyes." Su Jin raised her hand and covered Zheng Lin's eyes.

In the other room, Xu Jingzhi counted the number of clothes Song Leilei had bought that day and complained, "Who would dare marry you in the future? You can eat so much and spend so much money, any man who ends up with you is unlucky."

"Don't worry, it's not you who'll be the one who suffers. It won't cost you any of your money, Young Master Xu!" Song Leilei rolled her eyes at him, picked up all the bags and stuffed them into the wardrobe, then slammed the door shut.

“But I can still lend you money,” Xu Jingzhi said, brainwashing Song Leilei with his own scheme. “Look, go to my dad and say a few good things about me so he can unfreeze my bank card sooner. I’m financially independent now, and I can lend you as much money as you want.”

Song Leilei glared at him: "You're shameless."

Xu Jingzhi: "Can't you help your buddy this once?"

Whenever Song Leilei was short of money, she would borrow from Xu Jingzhi. She borrowed so many times, but she never paid it back. Xu Jingzhi talked a lot, but he never actually forced her to repay a single penny.

“Just find a job, then you’ll have money. Your family has so much wealth, it can’t withstand your squandering.” Song Leilei said this without a care in the world.

She didn't know what the saying "the pot calling the kettle black" meant.

In Song Leilei's eyes, Xu Jingzhi was an ordinary person with an ordinary family background. His father was just a retired middle-aged man who dressed simply and treated people gently.

But she only saw the surface.

The truth is... Xu Jingzhi was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Xu Jingzhi's father was once known as one of the "Four Young Masters of City A". Even though the family has fallen on hard times, their wealth is enough to feed more than ten generations!
