Having served the Empire for half of his life, Ela was decisively sold out. He intended to flee to another country but was nearly beaten to death during his escape before being saved by a dragon-gi...

Chapter Three: A Peaceful Reunion

To be honest, Isabel had only been to the White Tower with Ira when she was very young. For her, this place was actually quite unfamiliar, both the flowers and plants and the people she interacted with.

Ah, those sitting around the enormous round table probably have nothing to do with the Tower of Pure White anymore... because those fifty or so beings of various races are the kings of the world who came because of this [Gathering of Kings].

Before this calamity arrived, there should have been far more powerful players capable of reaching the city via the portals of the three towers…

Lost in thought, Isabella casually followed Marila, then bumped into her on the back as Marila suddenly stopped.

[Secretary Marilla?]

Originally, Isabella was about to ask a question aloud, but a young female mage standing in front of the venue spoke up first: "The [Conference of Kings] is being held over there right now. Are you here to attend the meeting?"

Such a question naturally did not require an answer from Isabella; she had already seen... the person standing in the conference room, or rather, in this [Conference Square], furthest from the entrance.

A lot of time has passed, but Yoon-ra really hasn't changed at all.

"Yes, we come from the Empire, invited by Inla Elkaras."

As Marilla spoke, both sides were actually being very tactful... The magician didn't say, "Who are you? State your names!" and Marilla didn't respond with, "King of the Empire, how dare you stop us? Huh!?"

So everything seemed very pleasant...

However, quite a few kings of small countries did respond in a similar manner... Of course, the Tower of Pure White did not turn against them, but still gave them the most basic respect and invited them into the venue.

They'll probably behave themselves in the venue, right?

“Kings gathered together, as far back as I can remember... no, even since my father, and even since the founding of the empire, there should never have been such a thing.”

As Isabel, led by the magician who was guiding Marilla, said this, she looked around and said with some emotion, "It feels a little different from what I imagined."

As Isabel spoke, Marilla, watching Isabel conversing with an elf, replied, "What does Your Highness think a gathering of kings should look like?"

How should I put it... Although I'm not sure exactly what it's like, it probably shouldn't be as noisy and chaotic as it is now, like a vegetable market or a trade market, right?

"Perhaps... it should be quieter and more elegant?"

After thinking for a moment, Isabel said this, then sat down in the spot the magician indicated, shifting her gaze away from Ira... She wasn't in a hurry, not at all; she could tell Ira would come around soon anyway.

The current meeting of kings is definitely orchestrated by Yin Laqing. He once spoke of the symbolism of the "round table," but although it is now a round table meeting of "equality," the seating order... apart from Yin Laqing's empty "first seat."

The rulers of the major kingdoms were evenly distributed around him—

On the left are, in order: the Demon King of the Demon King's Territory, the Elf Queen of the Silvermoon Tree Court, the Speaker of the Duchy, the two chieftains of the Orc Kingdom, and the three principals of the Three Towers; on the right are myself (Isabella), the Pope of the Theocracy, the Emperor of the Dwarf Kingdom, and the King of the Lothar Islands.

Even small countries are arranged in order of influence and strength, which not only creates a class system but also prevents awkwardness between kings.

Kings who had clashed or fought wars between nations were also largely separated.

For example... Empire and Duchy, Empire and Demon Lord's Territory, Empire and Orc Kingdom, Empire and Silvermoon Tree Garden.

As she pondered, the thought "As expected of Ira" arose in her mind once again. Looking at the chaotic meeting room, she realized something and said softly, "But thinking about it, it makes sense. Not all kings have been trained in etiquette."

Marilla nodded firmly at her, having figured it out... Yes, they didn't have the leisure for that; not all kings had the time to cultivate their personal character.

Shake shake shake~

"..."

Shake shake shake~

Sensing something, Marilla glanced in the direction of Isabella and said, "Your Highness, don't worry, Isabella will come to find you... Isabella will talk to everyone, you don't need to worry."

"???"

In response, Isabella glanced at Marilla with surprise. She didn't respond... but her expression clearly conveyed the question, "Why do you say that?"

"Your Highness..."

Marilla didn't explain clearly, but instead pointed to Isabella's leg...

...

Shaking, shaking, shaking... Stop.

Seeing that Isabella had stopped shaking her leg and was pretending that nothing had happened, Marilla shrugged indifferently... As long as Isabella is happy.

"Good day, three principals. In short, I am very grateful for your guidance... Although I can hardly call myself a mage now, and strictly speaking, you haven't taught me much magic. It was all the guidance of Instructor Kiara."

As Yinla spoke to the headmaster of the White Tower beside Yinsabella, he jokingly said to the White-Robed Gandalf, "However, it's really good that you didn't stop me when I was looking through the forbidden spell books."
