Having served the Empire for half of his life, Ela was decisively sold out. He intended to flee to another country but was nearly beaten to death during his escape before being saved by a dragon-gi...
The phrase "Please give me your mana" actually has a derivative meaning beyond its literal meaning, and it first became popular in the Empire before spreading throughout the entire continent.
In the conventional sense, it is generally believed that the birth of offspring is due to the fusion of the parents' bloodline and corresponding soul (Mana), which is why noble children would only marry other noble children they deem worthy.
Therefore, the meaning of "Give me your mana" is similar to "Give me your DNA".
However, it's the kind of statement that's not easily misunderstood... You can deliberately interpret it in a distorted way, but generally speaking, people communicating with each other won't think in that direction.
"Is it related to the consul?"
In response to Sirina's question, Ira nodded and said, "I'm curious whether there's any difference between manas with special talents like Tikap and manas of ordinary succubi."
"Hmm...can I consider this as a reward related to [fertilizer]?"
After hesitating for a moment, Hillina said this...
This is outrageous. Although we haven't fully discussed what kind of compensation Iraq should receive, there's no doubt that the compensation shouldn't be offset like this.
"Can."
But Ira said that, and Shirina, who never expected him to answer so decisively, looked up in confusion, and then Ira grabbed her tail in one swift motion.
The moment the warm palms touched the tail, Shirina's body trembled violently.
"Huh!!"
Just as he had ignored Tikkap's strange cries before, Ira now ignored Sylvanas's soft gasps and panting as she drew mana. He drew about the same amount of mana, and then immediately let go.
"Huff... huff..."
"Lady Ira... such a surprise attack... is too much..."
Ira glanced at Sirina, who was blushing and scolding him playfully, and said very simply, "I don't need any reward. If you want to repay me, just think about the moment when the future Demon Lord decides to betray me."
"..."
These words seemed like a polite way of asking Shirina to accept the offer, but they also seemed to reflect Ira's true feelings. For a moment, Shirina snapped out of her reverie about the strange sensations that Mana had been squeezed out of her.
It seems that Ira's mentality has really been affected by the Empire's attitude. His words undoubtedly meant that he hoped everyone in the Demon King's territory would remember what he did... rather than giving him any real reward.
Treating others with sincerity and expecting sincere reciprocation is not unreasonable; in fact, it could be considered somewhat humble.
"That day will never come."
As she said this, Shirina bowed her head respectfully to Ira and said, "If one day Lady Ira wishes to leave the Demon King's territory, we will never stop her."
This is the maximum promise a head maid can make. Although you can sense it in your interactions, Shirina actually has much more power than a typical maid.
As Sirina spoke, a familiar voice came from the other side: "Yes, after all, sending monsters to stop a governor is simply not going to work, is it?"
As she spoke, Vera walked over from the other end of the corridor, fiddling with her large mage hat as she said, "If I had to imagine such a scene, it would only be Ira cutting through the enemy's army."
That's not wrong at all; in fact, you could say that if Iraq wanted to leave now, no one could stop her.
Vera seemed to have been eavesdropping on Ira and Shirina's conversation for a long time. She looked curiously at Shirina, whose blush had not yet faded, and said, "So that's what it feels like to have your mana extracted by the governor? What about on the battlefield?"
As Vera spoke, her mind wandered to the monsters whose lives and mana were being harvested on the battlefield… Perhaps their deaths were no more painful than those of ordinary professionals? After all, they were dying while simultaneously experiencing pleasure?
Lost in thought, Vera felt that as a mage with a strong thirst for knowledge, she should try it herself. She placed her pale, almost grayish-white arm in front of Ira and said, "Please accept my mana."
Without a doubt, she wanted Ira to extract her mana.
Interestingly, she deliberately used the most easily misinterpreted term in the Empire, which could be interpreted as something like "accept my DNA".
It's hard to believe she did it unintentionally.
Although Ira knew what Vera had misunderstood, he didn't understand why she was thinking so much. He placed his hand on Vera's arm in confusion and said, "Then, please don't resist."
He drew the lich's magic from Vera's body, feeling the mana flowing through his wing pillar, and said, "But perhaps only succubi react differently to the extraction of mana."
Ira deliberately told Vera after the extraction had already begun... Since it was free mana, practically delivered to his door, he had no reason not to collect it.
No matter how you look at it, if piercing through a monster with your arm to extract mana on the battlefield could bring the same pleasure as having mana extracted from a succubus, then the governor's authority would seem to have vanished.
It doesn't feel so impressive anymore.
"..."
Vera's mana as a lich is of very high quality, just like the half-dragon lich she dealt with during the war. Vera clearly remembers how comfortably she used the lich mana in the third wing pillar (ranged attack) back then.
