After Being Betrayed by the Empire, I Decided to Support the Demon King

Having served the Empire for half of his life, Ela was decisively sold out. He intended to flee to another country but was nearly beaten to death during his escape before being saved by a dragon-gi...

Chirp chirp, coo coo, quack quack, plop chirp.

This is Lord Crescent Moon Madman.

How have you been feeling about the recent plot developments?

Yes, as you all probably already can see... Ira's story is coming to an end. This book will conclude in the fifth volume (the next volume), which I haven't yet decided how long to write myself.

And the ending of this book will obviously be a fairy tale ending... well, I guess so?

After all, the ending of "After Being Betrayed by the Empire, I Decided to Assist the Demon King" would be something like, "From then on, the prince and princess began their own adventure, and the others lived happily ever after."

Although happiness in fairy tales means everyone is alive, while happiness in this book means living in Ira's body... well, it's all happiness anyway, so it doesn't really matter where it is.

What's interesting is that this ending, which could be described as a "total annihilation," is not tragic at all because of many elements that seem to exist only in fairy tales; in fact, everyone is happily going to their deaths.

Does this count as spreading incorrect values?

I'm just glad I'm not too famous~

It's worth mentioning that I know it's a terrible thing to give people hope and then despair, so I've always made it very clear... Ira's world right now is completely beyond saving.

Civilization cannot continue to exist in a suitable way, so leaving is the only option.

Even if fate determines the ending, the process of reaching that ending is created by oneself; it's like...

Like the golden wind blowing in our faces, it embodies the golden spirit of humankind.

"..."

So, enough of that. In the next volume, Ira won't stay in the prime plane for long. She'll be in the Federation from the start, meeting her original parents and friends whom she's been trying to avoid meeting all along.

When they went out after that, they had already undergone a transformation and were ready for the final battle.

Well, if you ask, "If the world is beyond saving, what's the point of a final battle?", then I'll say it again... Even if fate determines the ending, the process is something we create ourselves.

...

The book mentions "inheritance" several times in every volume, but the final theme is "Inheritance? What a load of rubbish!! I'll kill you even if it means losing everything!", which is indeed quite strange.

But perhaps, maybe this is what elevates us?

Um... I'm not sure.

...

Well, that seems to be a spoiler. So, dear readers, please look forward to it!

The next volume is [Volume 5 (Final Chapter)]!
