After Being Dumped, I Turned Around and Married a Demolition Household

Gu Yueji, who was so poor she had to stream for over ten hours a day to sell goods and pay off debts, felt sorry for the delivery driver whose shoes were worn out and clothes were old, only able to...

Chapter 19 Gu Yueji deleted him

The next day, Ren Jin left Gu Yueji's house early and went home.

Although I've been coming home every day lately, I always rush to change clothes without even sitting down, and the furniture is covered in dust. Thinking that I won't have as much time to visit Gu Yueji every day once the construction site starts, I called a cleaning service to clean the room.

Today, Ren Jin was heading back to the construction site to meet with the client. Sitting in the car, he looked at himself in the rearview mirror. His hair, styled with hair wax, stood up straight and sharp, and his black shirt gave him a dashing and elegant air. He couldn't help but wonder what Gu Yueji's expression would be if she saw him like this. Would she be stunned? Aren't women usually quite pleased when they discover their man has turned out to be a prince?

As he thought about it, he smiled.

Little did they know that Gu Yueji had been busy looking at houses all these past few days.

About two weeks ago, the landlord called Gu Yueji and said that her daughter had returned to China and that she needed to vacate the house.

She looked at apartments for several days and finally found one that she was relatively satisfied with today, but the rent was higher than her budget.

Just as I was hesitating about whether to grit my teeth and rent it, Ren Jin called.

Lately, he's been leaving early and coming home late. Several times, he's been home when she's already asleep, and when she gets up, he's gone again. She hasn't asked him what he's been up to; she's just focused on finding her apartment.

When the call connected, he said cheerfully, "What do you want for lunch? I'll bring it back for you."

Gu Yueji was standing on the side of the road when a car honked its horn, interrupting her before she could speak.

At that same instant, a car horn sounded on the other end of the phone. Gu Yueji subconsciously looked around. At that moment, a Land Rover opened its door not far away, and a person got out of the car.

At first glance, Gu Yueji recognized Ren Jin immediately, even though he was dressed differently from his usual cheap T-shirt and sweatpants, wearing a well-fitting, straight shirt and trousers.

His dark-patterned black shirt was tucked into his trousers, revealing his tall and slender figure. With one hand in his pocket, he walked with a powerful and composed gait, exuding a dashing and noble air that Gu Yueji had never seen before.

She hid behind a tree, not understanding why she needed to, but that's what she did.

"Are you outside?" Ren Jin also heard the horn and looked around. He felt that he had been a little paranoid lately.

"Okay, I'm out to pick up my package."

Ren Jin thought for a moment, then decided it couldn't be such a coincidence, and without giving it much thought, asked, "Should I bring you food for lunch?"

"I'm going out for lunch, so I won't be eating at home."

Ren Jin asked curiously, "Where are you going?"

"I made an appointment with someone." Gu Yueji emerged from behind the tree, watching him walk further and further away. "What about you? Where are you now?"

He lied without hesitation: "I went to the construction site to fill out my employment documents. I need to go home tonight to pack some things, so I probably won't be going back."

Gu Yueji kept watching his figure until he disappeared around a corner. "Okay, I understand."

That evening, Ren Jin treated several material suppliers to dinner, and they naturally drank quite a bit of alcohol. After seeing them off, Ren Jin called a designated driver.

The driver took him to his destination and woke him up, only to find that he had given the wrong address.

They arrived at Gu Yueji's apartment building.

He rubbed his throbbing head. He had drunk so much and was originally planning to go back to his own place, but somehow he gave Gu Yueji's address instead.

Thinking it was too late to disturb her, and besides, his current attire wasn't suitable for seeing her, he finally had the designated driver turn around and go to his house.

The next day, Ren Jin was woken up by the ringing of the phone. Rubbing his aching head from the hangover, he picked up the phone and saw that it was Gu Yueji.

She answered the phone with her eyes closed, her voice soft and slightly hoarse, "Why are you calling me so early? Can't you sleep without me?"

Gu Yueji got straight to the point, "Come over this morning."

Ren Jin was still a little groggy. "I'll come over when I wake up. What do you want to eat for lunch? I'll buy it for you."

"You don't need to buy anything. Come over early, I have something to do later."

Her tone was inexplicably cold, and Ren Jin finally opened his eyes. "What's the rush?"

"Come here and let's talk face to face."

She hasn't been feeling well lately, and they haven't been intimate for almost a month. I wonder if that's why she seems to have grown distant from him.

He didn't sleep anymore. He wiped his face, changed into the clothes and shoes that Gu Yueji had bought for him, and rode his electric scooter to her house.

As he locked the car, he began to consider whether he should just tell her the truth now, since he would have to tell her sooner or later anyway, and he was tired of lying all the time. But when he thought of how Gu Yueji gave him money and cared about him, he decided to wait a little longer.

However, while he was still hesitating about whether to speak, Gu Yueji had already given him no chance to speak.

Ren Jin froze when he opened the door.

He hadn't been back for a day, and the house was completely empty, with everything except the landlord's original furniture cleaned up.

Gu Yueji came out of the room when she heard the door open. "You're here."

Ren Jin frowned, then saw her place a red, white and blue plastic bag in front of him.

"Your things are all in the bag. Check if you've left anything behind. If so, look for it in the house now. You'll have to return the keys to the landlord when she comes."

Are you moving?

"Yes, we're moving out today."

Ren Jin was as if he had heard something unbelievable. They were sleeping together in each other's arms just the night before last, so why was she suddenly moving out today? The worst part was that she hadn't told him at all.

When did you decide to move? How come I didn't know?

About two weeks ago, the landlord came over and said he wanted to take the house back.

Why didn't you tell me?

Gu Yueji glanced at him, but asked in return, "Why should I tell you?"
