Chapter 140 The Secrets of the Unfinished Building

"I'll get off and meet them, you go after them?" Mo Huaixing suggested as the minibus drove further and further away.

Just then, Fang Heng's phone rang.

"Boss!" The voice on the phone sounded dejected. "I'm in their hideout, and apart from the people I'm with, I haven't seen a single soul. I just overheard them making a phone call; I didn't expect it to be so fast."

"How are you?" Fang Heng asked.

"I'm fine, I've detained the person."

"Search again, then take him back." Fang Heng hung up the phone and simply said, "Chase him."

The chase lasted for more than half an hour. The minibus drove into an abandoned factory in the suburbs, where a black minivan was parked.

A man wearing a black baseball cap got off the minibus, while a burly man with a full beard got off the van.

They were too far away to hear what the two were saying, but they saw the bearded man walk into the minibus, and when he got off, he had a child under each armpit and threw them into the van.

The man wearing a baseball cap also hurriedly got into the car, took the child out, and put him in the van.

There are 6 children in total.

The burly man with a full beard cursed as he tossed a thick wad of banknotes to the man in the baseball cap.

Two vehicles drove out of the abandoned factory, one after the other.

After confirming the child was in the vehicle, Fang Heng called for help, asking the traffic police to stop the minibus. They followed the van and, seeing it heading towards the highway, contacted the highway tollbooth to stop it.

Seeing his once most radical brother become more and more steady and cautious, Mo Huaixing asked with a smile, "Aren't you curious where the car in front is going?"

If it were him in the past, he probably would have chased after the whole thing and found out everything.

"No matter how curious I am, I can't risk so many children's lives." Fang Heng was also unwilling: "If we can't get the answer, we'll think of other ways."

However, the van did not enter the highway. Just before it was about to enter the highway, there was a cluster of abandoned, unfinished buildings. The van drove deep into the abandoned buildings and stopped in front of the most secluded one.

The weeds in front were so tall that the hidden van was completely invisible unless you looked closely. The burly bearded man and his driver, each carrying three children, walked upstairs.

Fang Heng drew his gun and got out of the car. Mo Huaixing grabbed his arm and reminded him, "Do you know how many people are in the building? There are several children."

Gan Tang frowned in confusion as she looked at Mo Huaixing's hand gripping Fang Heng's forearm, less than ten centimeters from Fang Heng's pistol.

As a police officer, the most cautious thing should be the gun in his hand. Yet, he had absolutely no guard up against a man he had only met twice.

How is that possible?

Unless... they already knew each other and had a very close relationship.

"You know they're all just kids." Fang Heng was annoyed, but he also knew that what he said made sense. He put away his pistol and called for backup.

But he couldn't wait any longer; every minute he waited meant an extra minute of danger.

"I'll go check it out. You guys wait for me in the car."

“I’ll go with you!” Mo Huaixing said, still worried.

Fang Heng pulled out his gun and naturally handed it to Mo Huaixing, but realized something was wrong halfway through. He then tossed a dagger to Mo Huaixing, opened the door, and got out of the car.

Mo Huaixing placed the dagger in Gan Tang's hand and instructed, "Sit in the driver's seat. If there's danger, run away immediately."

Gan Tang nodded: "You be careful too."

Not long after the two left, a minibus arrived. To remain hidden, Mo Huaixing parked some distance away where the weeds were tall, and Gan Tang couldn't see the tour bus's license plate or how many people were inside, which made her a little uneasy.

What if you get stabbed in the back?

Gan Tang wanted to message Mo Huaixing, but she was worried about revealing his location, and also worried that he was on silent and wouldn't see her message. Seeing the minibus getting closer, she grabbed a dagger and ran upstairs.

I could faintly hear a child crying, followed by a loud gunshot.

Gan Tang hurriedly climbed upstairs, when a figure darted out from between the floorboards. She turned to kick, only to see the bearded man swing his knife at her leg.

With a loud thud, the bearded man slammed headfirst into a wall panel. She was then roughly pulled into an embrace.

Fortunately, although the movements were a bit rough, the chest was still warm.

Gan Tang lifted her retracted foot, celebrating her narrow escape, when suddenly a loud shout came from above her head: "Who let you up here?"

"A car is coming, I'm worried..."

"There's a car coming, can't I see it? Why are you causing trouble?" Mo Huaixing interrupted her angrily. Watching the burly man with a bruised and swollen face flee, he looked down and saw that the minibus had turned around due to the gunshot.

Police cars gradually approached from a distance.

Mo Huaixing glanced into the room, then turned back and shouted again, "Stay put!"

Gan Tang was so angry she really wanted to slap him, but as soon as she raised her hand, he ran away.

Fang Heng's voice came from inside: "Miss Lu, come and help."

See how comforting those words are?

"They're here!" Gan Tang walked in and saw Fang Heng holding a gun, staring at the three men who were crouching against the wall with their heads in their hands. Behind him was a room full of children, far more than six. The six children who had just been kidnapped were lying against the wall, and there were five more children with their hands and feet bound sitting next to them.

Seven children were sleeping against the wall next to it, but their faces all looked pained.

Gan Tang hurriedly cut the children's ropes and threw them to Fang Heng.

In the center of the room, there was a small square table and two small stools. On the table was a pile of yellow sugar pills. There was another pile in the corner next to it.

A little boy with tears streaming down his face sat on a small stool. When he saw Gan Tang walking towards him, he trembled with fear and said, "Auntie, I really can't eat anymore."

Gan Tang looked at Fang Heng with a puzzled expression.

"It's poison! Call an ambulance!" Fang Heng tied up the man squatting on the ground, then kicked him again in anger: "You beast!"

"Oh, okay!" Gan Tang's teeth chattered. After hanging up the phone, she knelt on the ground, touched the little boy's round belly, and gently comforted him, "No more eating, no more eating."

A pale hand appeared before her. Gan Tang lowered her eyes and saw an extremely pale, childlike face. The little girl's face was contorted with tears.

"Auntie, it hurts when I pee." As she spoke, she curled up and reached to get it out.

"Don't let her move." Fang Heng's voice was like it was on fire, and he looked away angrily and embarrassedly: "She has poison in there. If it breaks, she will die."

Hearing his voice, Gan Tang quickly grabbed the little girl's hand. But she was in so much pain that her legs began to thrash. Blood was seeping from under her white dress, and under her pleading gaze, Gan Tang held her legs down firmly.

This was the first time Gan Tang had ever seen drugs with her own eyes. The people involved were not drug addicts or drug dealers, but rather weak and helpless children who were used as containers to transport drugs, who received neither pleasure nor money, and who were simply manipulated by others.

On the other side, the burly bearded man, in his panic, foolishly fled in the direction the police car had come from.

Mo Huaixing grabbed him and dragged him into an unfinished building next door.
