Synopsis - Plot Version:
Just drifting through life at her office job, a certain fish on the line...
She was inexplicably kidnapped.
All because she had a heart that matched a maf...
Gan Tang returned to her room, took out a book from her suitcase, and began to read. However, she couldn't concentrate, as the scene from earlier kept replaying in her mind.
She suddenly realized a serious problem: the Azure Dragon Gang was full of various factions, and she and Mo Huaixing were too weak to rely on their own strength. She needed to find an ally.
But who should we turn to?
Gan Tang opened her notebook and wrote down everyone's name: Fu Cheng, He Zhong, Fu Shaojie, Ali, Lin Shuang, and Su Su.
The pen tip landed on the paper, first crossing out He Zhong, then Su Su.
Gan Tang initially felt sorry for her, having been disfigured beyond recognition and then offered as a gift to a man. But judging from her behavior just now, she wasn't being forced at all; she was clearly enjoying the thrill of being superior to others.
A sharp tongue and acerbic nature ingrained in his bones.
What about Fu Shaojie? No, he's too foolish. What if he messes things up?
What about Ali? No, he's too stubborn and can't be persuaded.
What about Fu Cheng?
Gan Tang's gaze swept past his name and landed on the name "Lin Shuang".
This is a woman who moves between three men: Lu Zhengqian, Fu Shaojie, and He Zhong. Even Fu Cheng is attracted to her.
The phone rang; it was Ali calling. Sure enough, Lu Zhengqian had returned and, hearing that she was there, invited her down for dinner.
Gan Tang hung up the phone and went out, but turned back at the door, burned the piece of paper covered with names, and threw it into the trash can.
The restaurant was quite lively, with He Zhong, Fu Cheng, Fu Shaojie, and Ali all present. However, none of them had anyone with them, and the tables were all round red tables without any sense of hierarchy, so it didn't feel oppressive.
Fu Cheng was dressed casually in a white T-shirt and gray sweatpants, looking every bit the perfect family man. He was standing at the table setting out the dishes when he saw Gan Tang coming over. He called out to her, "Little sister, bring over that bottle of 1947 White Horse from the top shelf in the cabinet."
"Oh!" Gan Tang came over carrying a bottle of red wine and asked, "Is there some good news today?"
Drinking such fine red wine.
“Godfather doesn’t need to abstain from alcohol anymore. Let’s have a drink with him today.” Fu Cheng took the red wine from Gan Tang and opened the bottle to let it breathe.
Gan Tang asked in confusion, "Wasn't Dad's illness cured a long time ago?"
"That was the end of the treatment phase; this is the end of the rehabilitation phase." Fu Cheng asked in surprise, "You didn't come here for this?"
Gan Tang chuckled, trying to hide her embarrassment. But Fu Cheng insisted on bringing it up: "Missing him?"
"No way!" Gan Tang stubbornly refused for two seconds before asking in a low voice, "Do you have any news about him?"
"No news is good news." After saying that, Fu Cheng instructed, "Alright, stop standing there and bring me the wine glasses!"
Gan Tang complained, "You can order me around like that, with all those people around."
Fu Cheng glanced at the three people sitting on the sofa and shook his head softly, "I wouldn't dare order around those big shots. You, however, would?"
"What wouldn't I dare to do?" Gan Tang blurted out, patting her chest in a moment of impulsiveness.
After glancing around, she fixed her gaze on the silly boy who was engrossed in playing PUBG on his phone and called out loudly, "Fu Shaojie, stop playing and go get the wine glass."
Suddenly called out by name, Fu Shaojie was shot in the head and turned around angrily: "What right do you have to order me around?"
"Go now!" Gan Tang urged righteously, "You're the youngest in this family. If I don't order you around, who else will I order around?"
Fu Shaojie slammed his phone down, slowly got up to get a wine glass, and Fu Cheng silently gave Gan Tang a thumbs up.
"It's nothing!" Even so, she didn't dare to offend Fu Shaojie too much, so she went over to help, only to find a barely perceptible smile on his lips.
Is this happiness? Gan Tang couldn't understand.
"Alright." Fu Shaojie finished arranging the items and looked at Gan Tang.
"Not bad!" Gan Tang praised generously, saying, "Since you're so well-behaved, I'll give your wife a big red envelope when you get married."
Fu Shaojie, who had turned to leave, stopped and came back, asking, "Why is it for her?"
Gan Tang laughed and joked, "So that she can take over from me and continue to discipline you."
"Who needs your discipline!" Fu Shaojie angrily turned and left.
Gan Tang became more and more excited as he talked, then reminded him, "Hey, don't take this lightly! Hurry up and find a wife, Dad's waiting to hold his grandson!"
"Dad's waiting to announce his grandson?" Fu Shaojie suddenly turned around, his eyes welling up with tears.
At that moment, Gan Tang was holding a wine glass, asking Fu Cheng to pour her some red wine. Fu Cheng said she wasn't fully awake yet, but still poured her a small sip.
Gan Tang swirled her wine glass and looked at Fu Shaojie.
“When the time comes, Dad will play with him, his older brother will teach him to shoot, I will teach him to write, and you…” She thought for a long time but couldn’t come up with anything, so she said, “…you will be responsible for continuing to have children.”
"How can I only be responsible for giving birth?" Fu Shaojie's eyes narrowed into slits, and he even became unusually shy.
Gan Tang took a sip of red wine and deliberately drew out her words: "Because of you, you're full of energy! Right, big brother?"
Oh no, I've offended two people with just one sentence.
Fu Cheng smiled and agreed, "Yes."
"What's up? Why are you so happy?" Lu Zhengqian came down the stairs, wearing loose pajamas.
Lin Shuang helped him up.
Gan Tang exclaimed, "My brother said he'll let you hold your grandson next year."
"Sister, don't talk nonsense." Feeling his father's gaze, Fu Shaojie hurriedly denied it. He knew his own limitations; those were all lies his sister made up. His father didn't even like himself, so how could he like the child he had given birth to?
However, Lu Zhengqian said nothing and gestured for everyone to sit down.
There was one person missing from the table. Lu Zhengqian asked, "Where's Susu?"
Ali said, "Miss Su said she wanted to touch up her makeup."
"Why touch up your makeup over a casual meal?" But Lu Zhengqian didn't ask Ali to call anyone, instead gesturing for everyone to start eating. Lin Shuang sat next to Lu Zhengqian as usual, serving him food, while Fu Cheng went around the table pouring drinks for everyone. Before Su Su arrived, everything was harmonious.
Lin Shuang and Gan Tang were sitting on either side of Lu Zhengqian.
When Lin Shuang saw Su Su coming over, she stood up to offer her a seat, but Gan Tang said first, "Sit here with me."
As she spoke, she took her cutlery and went to Fu Shaojie's side.
After Su Su sat down, Lu Zhengqian saw the clear handprint on her face and asked with a hint of anger, "Who hit me?"
"No, no!" Su Su tried her best to cover it up, her panicked appearance seemed to say, I clearly covered it up, I didn't want you to see it.
"I hit her." Gan Tang had just sat down when she peeked at the injury on Su Su's face. She rolled her eyes in anger. She had slapped her, but she hadn't used any force. How could it have swelled up?
"Tang'er, what nonsense are you spouting!" Lu Zhengqian scolded lightly.
Su Su covered her face and said pitifully, "Miss is right to teach me a lesson. Regardless of whether Miss Lin bumped into me on purpose, it was my fault that I did not take good care of the bracelet you gave me."
As she spoke, she took out the jade bracelet that had been broken in two.
Lu Zhengqian immediately flew into a rage and slapped Lin Shuang across the face.
"I...I didn't mean to," Lin Shuang admitted, her voice trembling. She'd already hit him; how could she say Lu Zhengqian had hit the wrong person?
Gan Tang remained silent, a hint of sadness in her voice.
Such an obvious setup! Does every man, no matter how capable, fail to recognize a green tea bitch? I thought Su Su was stupid, but it turns out I was the stupid one.
"Dad, Miss Lin didn't break the bracelet. She deliberately dropped it."
Since she's going to make a scene, she'll play along and see what kind of trouble she can come up with.
