Synopsis - Plot Version:
Just drifting through life at her office job, a certain fish on the line...
She was inexplicably kidnapped.
All because she had a heart that matched a maf...
Above the bridge, lights shone brightly; below, the water rippled. Only the path following the river was pitch black, and nothing could be seen.
The ambulance that turned into the alley was the only light on the path. Gan Tang leaned on the railing and asked Mo Huaixing, "Could you help me tomorrow...?"
As she spoke, she realized that no one was beside her. Turning her head, she saw Mo Huaixing standing about ten steps away from her.
Are you still angry? But he was the one who complained about me first. Oh well, I guess I'm the one who needed his help.
Gan Tang silently moved closer to Mo Huaixing and continued to ask, "Could you go see him for me tomorrow and pay his medical bills? He lives alone in this city and doesn't have much money. If he goes to the hospital, he won't have money for food."
Seeing that Mo Huaixing remained silent, Gan Tang quickly added, "Don't worry, I'll transfer the money to you. You won't suffer any losses."
After another ten seconds of silence, Mo Huaixing looked at Gan Tang and said, "There's something wrong with him!"
"What?"
Mo Huaixing said, "It's too much of a coincidence that he just happened to appear here and just happened to save you."
“So what? I used to live there.” Gan Tang pointed and said, “We often had barbecue there, and then he would walk me home along the path by the river. Besides, I know who the kidnapper is.”
Who is it?
"So you think I bullied his former boss, Mr. Xu?" Gan Tang deliberately drew out her words.
Mo Huaixing asked in confusion, "How did you know it was him?"
Logically speaking, kidnappers are usually very well disguised.
"I saw it."
"How did you see that? There were burlap sacks over people's heads on the grass."
Faced with Mo Huaixing's relentless questioning, Gan Tang was speechless, but still explained earnestly: "Yes, he put a sack over my head, but I saw his clothes clearly. They were the same clothes Old Xu was wearing today. Unless there's a grudge, who would drag me into the grass and beat me without saying a word?"
"You're injured?" Mo Huaixing was surprised.
"No!" Gan Tang rubbed her sore elbow, not wanting to talk to him anymore. But Mo Huaixing still said, oblivious to the situation, "Maybe it wasn't him."
Gan Tang coldly retorted, "If it wasn't him, then who do you think it was?"
Today, after leaving the third company where Gan Tang had worked, Mo Huaixing was certain there was no car following him. Jin Hai City is so big; without a tracker, it's impossible to find someone so quickly. However, after Yuan Biao left, some people in the Lu Group could easily find Gan Tang's location.
After all, he was her ex-boyfriend, so Mo Huaixing didn't want to voice his suspicions. He simply said, "No matter what, be careful of Cao Yunbo. He might have something going on."
"Mo Huaixing, what do you mean?" Gan Tang was furious. "If you don't want to go, just say so. Don't talk badly about others."
If Yunbo hadn't rushed out to save him, he would have been badly beaten by now. The evidence was irrefutable, and Yunbo even ended up in the hospital because of it, yet he still spoke up for his enemy.
"I spoke ill of him?"
In the exchange of words, the usually calm and collected man gradually lost his temper and said sarcastically, "Do you think you're so beautiful that men can't live without you and come here every day to reminisce about your dead love? Or do you think you're so charming that he would give up a good job to become a junior employee at Lu's Group just to see if you're his girlfriend?"
With a sharp slap, a crisp hand landed on Mo Huaixing's face.
Gan Tang tilted her head back, forcing back the tears welling in her eyes, and scolded, "I am the young lady, how dare you talk to me like that? Kneel down!"
Mo Huaixing was stunned.
From initially responding nervously to being called "Miss," to accepting it calmly, he watched her become more and more immersed in the role each day. But he never expected that one day she would be so high and mighty, issuing commands.
Mo Huaixing knelt down, and the streetlights on the bridge embankment cast his upright figure on the ground, at the feet of Gantang.
Gan Tang was so frightened that she stepped back. She only wanted to deflate his arrogance, but she didn't expect him to actually kneel down.
Although the long bridge is quite far from the pedestrian street where crowds gather, many passersby still stopped to watch, assuming it was some kind of scene where a cheating husband was begging his wife or girlfriend for forgiveness. Some even took out their phones to record it.
"Hurry up and leave, aren't you ashamed?" When she was kidnapped, her hat and sunglasses fell off, and Gan Tang could only use her hands to shield herself as she fled.
After walking for a while, Gan Tang wanted to take a taxi to leave, but Mo Huaixing didn't follow. She turned around to look. Mo Huaixing was indeed following, but at a distance. He seemed to be shrouded in frost.
Gan Tang knew she had gone too far and wanted to apologize, but what came out of her mouth was an arrogant "Why are you so far away from me?"
"I feel nauseous, and I'm afraid of making the young lady feel disgusted."
"You..." He actually brought up what had just happened to disgust himself.
Yes, that's right. You shouldn't hit someone in the face, and you shouldn't insult someone by revealing their shortcomings. I shouldn't have made him kneel down in public to humiliate him. But am I the only one at fault? Doesn't he have done anything wrong at all?
Feeling wronged, stubborn, and inexplicably proud, Gan Tang pointed at the roadway and commanded aggressively, "Can't you see I'm tired? Hurry up and get a taxi."
"Yes, Miss." The voice boomed.
Mo Huaixing hailed a taxi, respectfully opened the back door, covered the roof, and waited for Gan Tang to get in.
Gan Tang deliberately moved to the other side to make room before getting into the car, but when she looked up, she saw Mo Huaixing close the back door and sit in the passenger seat. That kind of indifferent disregard was more unbearable than an argument.
Gan Tang snorted coldly: "If you're afraid I'll make you nauseous, I thought you weren't coming up."
"This concerns your safety, please bear with it for a moment."
