Yang Liu dared to play with Sang Hongfu like this because she had made all the necessary arrangements beforehand, ensuring that no one would disturb them.

She ran a few steps, then stopped and waited for Sang Hongfu.

Before he even stepped into the gates of Lanyuan, he heard a woman's voice from inside: "Why did you call me here so early?"

Zheng Yigeng looked at the First Madam with a bewildered expression. He frowned and said, "Didn't you say that something had happened to our Rui'er and that I should come to see you as soon as possible?"

Sang Hongfu overheard their conversation clearly. His body froze instantly, and his hand holding Yang Liu trembled, almost dropping her. Fortunately, Yang Liu managed to grab his neck in time.

Sang Hongfu only realized what was happening when he felt a tightness around his neck. He tightened his grip on Yang Liu and then listened to the sounds inside.

The First Madam glared at Zheng Yigeng with displeasure: "When did I ever say that? You're lying to me again! Honestly!"

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Yang Liu's face turned bright red. She glanced at Sang Hongfu and then lowered her head, the curve of her lips almost wide enough to support two children.

Sang Hongfu assumed she was just shy and embarrassed, so he took off his coat and draped it over Yang Liu's shoulders, then kicked open the door to Lanyuan.

Both the First Madam and Zheng Yigeng were stunned by the loud noise.

The First Madam was facing the door, so when she looked up, she saw Sang Hongfu's face, which was as black as could be.

Her body stiffened, and she remained frozen in the position of embracing Zheng Yigeng.

Zheng Yigeng was caught in her embrace and didn't know what to do for a moment. He turned around forcefully and looked back. As soon as his eyes met Sang Hongfu's dark face, he pushed the First Madam away and knelt on the ground with a thud.

The First Madam then realized what was happening and quickly knelt down beside him.
