After dinner, Gu Jinghe drove Jiang Yuli back to work at the hospital, while Huo Haocheng took Ruan Ruan and Gu Jingming, the 1000-watt third wheel, to see a movie.

Even after entering the movie theater, Huo Haocheng still didn't understand why he would bring his brother-in-law along. Wouldn't it have been better to let him go to the hospital with his brother-in-law?

Now, sitting in the screening room, he watched the siblings huddled together, discussing the movie plot, while he could only watch helplessly from the sidelines.

'Hmph, I even watched a movie with my wife this intimately,' Huo Haocheng thought to himself, and vowed never to bring this third wheel out with him again.

After the movie, the three of them went to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy bicycles.

"Excuse me, do you have any bicycles available right now?" Ruan Ruan asked politely as she approached the sales clerk.

The sales clerk glanced at Ruan Ruan's attire, and then, noticing Huo Haocheng in his military uniform behind her, said enthusiastically, "You're really lucky today. Someone ordered a bicycle, but it hasn't arrived by the pickup time. Our manager told us to bring the bicycles out today for those who need them. I'll go and bring them out for you to see right now."

As she spoke, the saleswoman turned and went to the warehouse to push the bicycles. Actually, what she said earlier was just an excuse. There were two bicycles in the warehouse. Because so few people usually come to buy bicycles, they had been sitting there for a long time without anyone asking about them, so they were moved back to the warehouse to save space. They would only be brought out after confirming that someone wanted to buy them. She said that earlier because it would be too much trouble to go and push them out if they didn't want to buy them. So she said that to see if Ruan Ruan and the others really wanted to buy them or not. If they were just looking, then she would definitely stop them from buying. Otherwise, if they didn't buy them after she pushed them out, then she would have something to say.

After waiting for a few minutes, Ruan Ruan and her companions finally saw a salesperson pushing out a Phoenix brand bicycle. Ruan Ruan touched it and found it to be very clean, indicating that the salesperson had already wiped it down.

Ruan Ruan thought it was great, so she asked her to issue the invoice directly. "This one is fine, please issue the invoice."

"Okay, I'll issue you the receipt right away. This is a Phoenix brand bicycle for 150 yuan and a bicycle ticket." The saleswoman didn't expect that the young girl would actually buy it after just one glance. Selling these two bicycles would give her a little extra pay this month. She happily accepted the money and ticket from Ruan Ruan.

After buying the bicycle, Huo Haocheng wanted to buy some other things for Ruan Ruan, but Ruan Ruan looked around and felt that there was nothing she needed, so she pulled Huo Haocheng away.

After all the delays, it was already 3 PM. Today, Huo Haocheng didn't leave Gu Jinghe behind again. He drove to where Gu Jinghe had gotten out of the car, parked the car at the corner, and asked Gu Jingming to get out and call him.

"Wife!" Huo Haocheng called out to Ruan Ruan with a wronged expression after Gu Jingming got out of the car.

"Hmm, what's wrong?" Ruan Ruan was stunned by this sudden display of grievance; this was the first time she had ever seen Huo Haocheng like this.

"You never even discussed the movie plot with me, head to head!" Huo Haocheng said, pulling Ruan Ruan's hand to his face, sounding aggrieved.

"But...but, if we do this in public, won't people report us?" In this day and age, even if Ruan Ruan doesn't understand much, she still knows that men and women shouldn't be too close in public. Even if they are husband and wife, holding hands in public will get them reported.

The reason she acted this way with Gu Jingming today was simply because Gu Jingming was her younger brother and still a child, so no one would say anything. But if it were Huo Haocheng, they would be in the police station right now, and Huo Haocheng was even wearing a military uniform, which would be a clear case of knowingly committing a crime!

"I don't care, I'm just feeling uncomfortable right now." Huo Haocheng knew that he and his wife couldn't act like this in front of outsiders, but he just felt it was unfair. This was clearly his wife, yet he couldn't be close to her.

"Then what do you want me to do? Go back and make it up to you?" This was the first time Ruan Ruan had ever seen Huo Haocheng act so unreasonably; she found it quite novel.

"Okay, you said it, you can't go back on your word!" Huo Haocheng was immediately happy when he heard Ruan Ruan say that she would make it up to him. He didn't even tell Ruan Ruan what the compensation was before he decided on it himself.

"Let's talk about it when we get back," Ruan Ruan said. Seeing Gu Jinghe and Gu Jingming approaching in the rearview mirror, she decided to stop discussing the topic with Huo Haocheng and figured they could talk about it later when they got back.

After they got into the car, Huo Haocheng immediately stepped on the gas.

"Hey Huo Haocheng, can you slow down? This road is full of potholes, are you doing this on purpose?" Gu Jinghe, sitting in the back, was bumped in the head several times by Huo Haocheng's driving, and he was so angry that he wanted to grab the steering wheel.

"As a soldier, you can't even sit still for this short distance, and you have the nerve to yell?" Huo Haocheng retorted irritably to Gu Jinghe's words and continued driving forward.

"Drive slower, it's giving me a headache," Ruan Ruan thought Huo Haocheng was driving too fast. To be honest, there are many roads, but safety is the most important. So she gently put her hand on his arm, signaling him to slow down.

When Huo Haocheng heard Ruan Ruan say she had a headache, he slowed down to a normal speed. He even tried to drive with one hand to reach for Ruan Ruan's hand, which was resting on his arm, but she refused.

"Focus on driving," Ruan Ruan patted him on the shoulder, left him with those words, and then withdrew her hand, no longer looking at him.

"Did you hear that? My sister told you to focus on driving." Seeing that Ruan Ruan was on his side, Gu Jinghe felt that he was right again and started to argue with Huo Haocheng.

This time, Huo Haocheng didn't indulge him. He parked the car on the side of the road, opened the door, and got out. After getting out, Huo Haocheng went to the front of the car, opened the passenger door, and carried Ruan Ruan out. Then he took the bicycle from the trunk, lifted Ruan Ruan onto what he called the front bumper, and rode away, leaving Gu Jinghe with a dashing back view.
