Jiang Yixing suddenly transmigrated to the Spirit Immortal Realm after graduating from university, cultivated for a hundred years, and finally became a Nascent Soul cultivator.
She thought fr...
Listen to what it has to say; of course, we don't really want the bat to say it itself.
Jiang Yixing wasn't so kind as to believe the words of a monster who had just attacked humans.
She made a hand seal and cast a spell on the bat.
Under the power of the True Word Technique, the bat was powerless to resist, and the reason was explained in a few words.
It turns out that it cultivated its consciousness a hundred years ago, and after several more decades of cultivation, it was finally able to speak human language. However, it was mistaken for a monster by a villager who happened to pass by. The rumors in the village spread and eventually reached the township government.
The villagers insisted that a monster was lurking in the village. So the government invited a Taoist priest from a renowned local temple to exorcise the monster.
The bat was no match for the Taoist priest's power and was severely injured, nearly annihilated. It ultimately escaped after expending over a decade of internal energy. From that moment on, however, it harbored a deep hatred for humanity and vowed to make them pay.
Jiang Yixing stared at the bats, which were hissing and contorting in a ferocious expression, shouting repeatedly, "I will make them pay the price!"
She felt no pity. Repaying kindness with kindness and settling scores with settling scores is a matter of course. But to transfer hatred onto innocent people is to shift hatred onto others endlessly.
Jiang Yixing released the True Word Technique, and the bat calmed down, realizing what it had just done.
It fell silent, realizing how shameful it was to expose its wounds to the enemy.
Rong Hang, however, sensed something was amiss. Under the power of the True Word Technique, no one could hide anything from him.
But the bat in front of us was indeed hiding something.
The most likely scenario is that it itself was unaware that it was concealing information.
Rong Hang immediately began searching the soul, and the bat screamed in agony. Its whole body trembled; the pain of the soul search paled in comparison to all the previous suffering.
Jiang Yixing was somewhat shocked. Although she knew that Rong Hang would not search souls without reason, this move still frightened her a little.
Under Rong Hang's divine gaze, the bat's memories were laid bare.
As expected, he saw a humanoid creature that was completely unlike a human. It stirred up the bats, lured them, and planted the seeds of hatred in their hearts.
Because the bat's own memory was fragmented, Rong Hang was unable to obtain any further information.
He couldn't even make out the person's face; all he saw was the bat's distorted image of that person, which was terrifying even from a distance.
Rong Hang snapped out of his reverie, and Jiang Yixing stood to his left, looking somewhat concerned.
Rong Hang suppressed the urge to pat Jiang Yixing on the head, "Someone is instigating it from behind."
Jiang Yixing then understood why Rong Hang had suddenly decided to perform a soul search.
However, the art of soul searching is painful for both the person performing the technique and the person using it.
This was a technique strictly forbidden by Taoism, and Jiang Yixing couldn't help but recall Rong Hang, who had once fallen into demonic possession.
"It's best to use this spell less often next time."
Rong Hang's heart skipped a beat. He had used it so readily that he had forgotten that it was a technique not accepted by the world.
Feeling inexplicably nervous, Rong Hang observed Jiang Yixing's expression.
She lowered her eyes, making it impossible to see the color in them.
When she looked up again, her eyes were filled with starlight: "It's bad for your health."
A change of mood from sadness to joy can happen in an instant, perhaps due to a single word from the person in front of you.
Rong Hang felt relieved, a warm feeling flowing through his heart. He pursed his lips and nodded, a faint smile involuntarily appearing on his lips.
Jiang Yixing stared blankly for a few seconds, then coughed as if burying his head in the sand, "Cough cough—look at this little demon—I wonder how it is..."
Jiang Yixing turned to look at the bat, which looked truly pitiful. It was surrounded by blood and grime, and its body was trembling uncontrollably. Rong Hang's ice seemed to still be working, as fine ice crystals had formed on its eyelashes.
Jiang Yixing felt a little guilty. He channeled his spiritual energy into his hands, and the bat was surrounded by green light. The light healed its wounds and entered its blood and bones, as gently as a mother's caress, warm and comforting.
Suddenly plunged from pain into pleasure, the bat was still somewhat disoriented, its body trembling slightly before it realized that the green light wasn't there to take its life, but rather to make it feel much more comfortable.
The bat looked at Jiang Yixing in disbelief, its eyes filled with fear and shock. "What did you do to me?"
Jiang Yixing loosened the restraints on it, leaving it confined only in a cage made of tree branches.
"Alright, we don't have a penchant for torturing prisoners. Although you did something wrong, this is a society governed by the rule of law, and the law will punish you."
“Ha,” a hint of hatred flashed in the bat’s tiny, beady eyes, “it’s just a law that serves you humans.”
Jiang Yixing shook his head. "I won't argue with you anymore. You'll naturally realize it later."
The bat demon was locked up for the night. The cage Jiang Yixing made was quite large, enough for it to move around freely. Although it was filled with hatred and cursed loudly, it was locked in by Rong Hang's barrier, and no sound could escape.
The next morning, Jiang Yixing woke up after a good night's sleep and took breakfast to Rong Hang next door.
Rong Hang seemed to have taken a shower that morning; his black hair was wet and hanging down, with a few drops of water sliding down his nose.
Jiang Yixing casually released a warm breeze to dry Rong Hang's hair, only realizing how abrupt it was afterward.
Jiang Yixing raised his hands, "Sorry, it was just something I did."
Rong Hang felt a warm breeze blow past his ears, and he touched them uncomfortably, feeling a tickle.
"It doesn't matter."
"How is the little bat?"
Jiang Yixing looked towards the cage but found nothing there. A thought flashed through his mind, and he guessed that Rong Hang had cast a spell.
Rong Hang made a finger gesture, and the magic disappeared.
The cage had barely been revealed when the bats were fast asleep inside.
