Next came an award that combined fashion and popularity—the "Best Dressed Award," voted on by a global audience that evening. The nominees were Lee Min-ho, Lee Jong-suk, and Ouyang. When the presenter announced Ouyang's victory, it seemed to be a foregone conclusion—his GUCCI runway finale outfit had dominated fashion headlines from the moment it hit the red carpet.
Due to the nature of the award, the acceptance speech was given offstage. Ouyang briefly expressed his gratitude to the brand and styling team for their hard work, and said thank you and love to the audience around the world in different languages.
Time quietly slipped towards midnight. Host Li Huicai conducted heartwarming interviews with several veteran actors backstage. When the countdown finally rang, the entire audience stood up and, led by the host, shouted in unison:
"10, 9, 8... 3, 2, 1! Happy New Year!"
Confetti and sequins rained down from the sky, transforming the stage into a sea of joy. The performers embraced and exchanged blessings, welcoming the last day of 2013.
After the heartwarming New Year's moments, a special New Year's greeting video from the cast and crew of the currently airing drama "My Love from the Star" was played on the big screen, and the appearance of Jun Ji-hyun and Kim Soo-hyun triggered a new round of screams.
The performances resumed. New Star Award winner Kim So-hyun presented an adorable performance of "Pink High Heels"; Sung Yu-ri performed the classic jazz song "Dream a Little Dream"; Kang So-ra took on a challenging performance, singing the Chicago musical OST "Roxie"; and Seo In-guk sang "One Day More" from the musical Les Misérables with a choir, delivering a powerful and breathtaking performance.
After the performance, the Best Acting Award was presented.
The Best Actress Award for Long-Form Drama was presented by Kim Sung-ryung and Kim Mi-kyung. The male winner was Jeon Kwang-ryul for "Passionate Love," and the female winner was Nam Sang-mi for "Goddess of Marriage."
The Best Acting Award for the Medium-Length Drama was presented by Song Chang-eui and Kim Jung-na. This was another highlight of "The Heirs" tonight. The male winner was Lee Min-ho! The female winner was Lee Yo-won for "Golden Empire".
The Best Acting Award for Short Film was presented by Ji Jin-hee and Kim Ji-soo. The male winner was So Ji-sub for *Master's Sun*, and the female winner was Song Hye-kyo for *That Winter, the Wind Blows*. Song Hye-kyo was unable to attend due to filming commitments, and the award was accepted on her behalf by director Kim Kyu-tae.
The special award was presented by SBS Chief Executive Officer Park Jung-ho, and the recipient was Jo In-sung, in recognition of his contributions to SBS dramas over the past decade.
Finally, the most important award—the 2013 SBS Drama Awards—is about to be announced.
The award presenters were SBS President Lee Yong-moo and last year's Grand Prize winner, Son Hyun-joo. As the envelope was opened, Son Hyun-joo smiled and read out the name:
"The winner of the 2013 SBS Drama Awards is Lee Bo-young, for 'I Hear Your Voice'!"
The entire audience rose to their feet, and the applause was thunderous and prolonged. This was the highest affirmation of her superb acting skills over the past year. Lee Bo-young walked from the host's position to the award acceptance seat. Her acceptance speech lasted for several minutes, thanking the crew, her family, and her fans, and she choked up several times. When she said, "I will continue on the path of acting," many actors in the audience had tears in their eyes.
After the awards were presented, all the winners and the award presenters went on stage for a group photo.
That night, Oh Yang-yang was showered with honors: New Star Award, Top Ten Stars Award, Popularity Award, Best Dressed Award. More importantly, as an actor, Oh Yang-yang left his mark on the highest hall of fame for Korean dramas.
