Before the divorce.
Jiang Tong's scumbag ex-husband placed three curses on her.
One, after leaving him, she would definitely live a miserable life and couldn't survive without h...
"Who's your wife? I'm your ex-wife!"
Jiang Tong was completely exasperated. Who was Xu Huaiyuan trying to disgust with by saying that?
You should know that he is a married man now.
I really didn't check the almanac before going out today.
Family matters are upsetting, meeting this idiotic, narcissistic blind date is disgusting, and even Xu Huaiyuan is there—it's like all sorts of bad things have come together.
Zheng Ren was stunned. He hadn't expected that simply trying to chat up Jiang Tong would result in her ex-husband showing up. He knew he was in the wrong today, but the well-meaning uncle was still shouting, "I'm telling you, the call will go through soon! The police will be here in a bit!!"
Upon hearing this, Zheng Ren, that bastard, immediately turned around and fled.
The kind-hearted older woman was still calling out, "Why are you running? Hurry, hurry, has the phone gone through yet?!"
Her son replied, "No! I can't get through!"
Finally, the uncle asked Jiang Tong, "Young lady, are you alright? Do you still need to call the police? If nothing's wrong, I think it's fine to just let it go. That person ran away, so let it go. Your friend also hit him. If you call them, they'll just be trying to smooth things over. Why don't you just let it go?"
Now that Xu Huaiyuan has calmed down, he realizes that things are quite serious, and he has no idea how badly he beat the person.
Jiang Tong nodded sincerely and said, "Okay, thank you, Uncle and Auntie."
Xu Huaiyuan was indignant. His face darkened as he said, "You're just letting him go like that??? But you locked me up last time???"
Jiang Tong looked at him coldly, "Did you wrong me? You hit me too!"
Xu Huaiyuan was stunned, his face turned pale, and then he looked dejected and lowered his head, not daring to utter a sound.
Eventually, the police arrived, but after questioning them, they gave them a lecture, saying that they shouldn't have fought and that they should just sign a document to settle the matter.
Jiang Tong's peaceful mood vanished upon seeing the lake; feeling quite annoyed, she prepared to leave.
Xu Huaiyuan, however, grabbed her.
Jiang Tong immediately broke free, saying, "You'd better watch your step."
Xu Huaiyuan has been having a tough time lately. He's lost a lot of weight, is less greasy, and his looks have improved considerably; he even has a somewhat颓废 (颓废 is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of being decadent, listless, or disheveled) handsomeness.
But Jiang Tong remained completely unmoved. In the past, when they were deeply in love, her heart would race whenever she looked at him, but now her heart was as calm as still water.
"I...how did you come back? Did you also forget this lake?"
Xu Huaiyuan's eyes actually reddened.
Jiang Tong looked directly at him calmly, her eyes as still as a lake. As if she had discovered something strange, she said, "If I'm not mistaken, what are you lamenting about? You don't need to play the victim in front of me."
This lake holds memories of Jiang Tong's childhood, as well as her innocent love with him.
When they were dating, neither of them had much money.
Those were the three most innocent years of our lives, an age when even a simple walk side by side by the lake would feel incredibly fulfilling.
Jiang Tong didn't understand why he could abandon his vows and betray her, which made her think that their initial relationship was a mistake.
Disgusting.
Xu Huaiyuan was somewhat stunned. After the divorce, he was initially furious and embarrassed, and in the early stages, he tried to coax Jiang Tong without much thought, thinking that he could get back together with her if he coaxed her. In the middle stage, he was so angry that he felt he could live without her and directly remarried. Finally, there was the messy new life in the later stage, and that unfamiliar new wife.
Real pain isn't temporary; it's like a fine, continuous drizzle enveloping your life, making you increasingly gloomy and increasingly difficult to breathe.
Xu Huaiyuan felt really bad later on, and the more he thought about it, the more painful it became. So much so that now when he faces Jiang Tong, he can't even lift his head up.
Because she is doing very well.
He assumed that after being a housewife for so many years, she couldn't live without him.
Remembering the man from before, Xu Huaiyuan immediately asked, "Who was that man? He claimed to be your husband? Are you getting remarried?"
He's very cautious about asking this now because he doesn't have the confidence to ask.
Thinking about this makes me feel bitter.
"He isn't!"
Surely her taste isn't that bad?
Jiang Tong suddenly remembered that her parents had set her up on a blind date and were waiting for her to come back, as well as that disgusting man from earlier, and her mood immediately soured.
Xu Huaiyuan breathed a sigh of relief. He was still very happy that she hadn't remarried. After all this time, the two of them were still able to say a few words to each other in a calm and peaceful manner.
He asked with a hint of excitement, "Then... do you still have feelings for me?"
Jiang Tong frowned when she saw his eyes light up, saying, "Can you stop disgusting me? You're a married man, how can you say such things to her?"
She then turned to leave.
Today, Xu Huaiyuan helped her once, but he owes her far more than he ever did.
Jiang Tong didn't feel embarrassed at all; she turned around and prepared to leave.
When Xu Huaiyuan saw her indifferent eyes, he felt a sudden emptiness in his heart, a sour feeling, and a deep sadness. He reached out to grab her but didn't dare, and could only say bitterly, "I'm sorry, I had no choice but to marry her. You took five million, but the company is having cash flow problems, so I had to ask her for help."
Jiang Tong simply raised her hand to stop him from continuing, saying, "What you and she have to do with me." She didn't care about his relationship with his new wife, nor did she care when he met her or how he managed to remarry so quickly.
She has started a new life.
The ridiculous thing now is that Xu Huaiyuan can't get over it, but he's a coward. He only misses her because he can't manage his own life.
If he were doing well, he would probably only be mocking her for being down on her luck.
