Tang Li was stunned.

This man is so fierce!

It made her want to clap and applaud him.

Zhou Lie curled up in a ball, still protesting his innocence:

"Tang Li, I really didn't lie to you. I swear, I have never done anything to betray my brothers."

Still pretending!

Lu Zhixing kicked Zhou Lie directly with great force. Zhou Lie was already thin and weak, and caught off guard, he was kicked into the tree stump.

Zhou Lie screamed in pain.

Lu Zhixing squatted down, grabbed his collar, and exposed him:

"Those who left early that night had no idea what happened afterward."

It was his statement that he hoped his brother was innocent that exposed his true colors.

"Those who didn't leave at the time signed confidentiality agreements, and you signed one."

He never left.

"So, you deserve to die."

Tang Li squatted down, trembling all over, his teeth chattering as he spoke.

She picked up her phone again, and Zhou Lie, seeing this, immediately begged for mercy:

"Tang Li, your call has ruined my life. I've thought about working my way up step by step, but those people in the department with status and connections have already taken off. I'm the only one left, a man in his thirties still stuck in the same place."

"What about my brother? What did he do wrong?"

"His biggest mistake was that he shouldn't have slept with Huo Chenyu's woman."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Lie was so badly beaten by Lu Zhixing that his vision went black for several seconds before light returned.

Zhou Lie still hasn't changed his tune:

"Tang Li, think about it yourself. Back then, you were still Huo Chenyu's wife. With Huo Chenyu's abilities, if he had even a shred of affection for you as a wife, it would have been easy for him to help his brother-in-law settle such a small matter. But why didn't he do it?"

He's using himself as a scapegoat again.

Tang Li slapped him across the face:

“No matter how scummy he is, he wouldn’t scheme against the person he slept with. This slap was for my ex-husband’s reputation.”

It would be a lie to say that she was completely unmoved.

But she didn't want to hear about Huo Chenyu's good or bad qualities from anyone.

Unless she discovers it herself, or Huo Chenyu admits it himself.

Otherwise, she would not accept any slander against him.

Seeing that his attempts to sow discord were futile, Zhou Lie began to wail and complain:

“I did sign the confidentiality agreement, but I really don’t know what happened that night. I’ve been avoiding Tang Yuan, you should be able to understand. If Chu Nai knew I had a family, she would definitely break up with me.”

This is also something that Tang Li finds very puzzling.

"Brother, you've most likely been fooled by that woman," Lu Zhixing said casually.

These words were like a wake-up call, and Tang Li's entire train of thought suddenly became clear.

"You mean, Chu Nai always knew he was married?"

If that's the case, then Chu Nai's purpose in approaching Zhou Lie becomes quite intriguing.

Seeing Zhou Lie lose control, Tang Li calmed down instead.

She plopped down on the floor and began to tidy up.

"Huo Chenyu once said that Lin Yiyun looks a lot like my sister-in-law He Yi, and you said the same thing."

Tang Li paused for a moment:

“I have known my sister-in-law for many years and I have also met Lin Yiyun. They do not look very alike, unless Lin Yiyun deliberately dresses up to look like my sister-in-law.”

“When Lin Yiyun attends a wine tasting event like that, she will definitely dress more formally, but my sister-in-law only wore a dress once, when she got engaged to my brother.”

It's impossible for someone to mistake another person for someone else in a moment of confusion and infatuation, simply because of a somewhat similar face.

“More than five years have passed, and the style of the dress from that time is long outdated. How could someone as image-conscious as Lin Yiyun possibly wear an outdated dress to a banquet?”

Lu Zhixing interjected:

"You can start with the photos."

The beauty has passed away; all that remains to be examined are her photographs.

Tang Li's thoughts drifted back five years, then returned to Zhou Lie:

"On the day of the engagement, a wedding banquet was being held in another hall of the hotel. A three-year-old child ran around and knocked down the champagne table that had been set up. The child was covered in blood, and the child's grandfather fainted on the spot. If I remember correctly, my brother and sister-in-law rushed to help that day. Only you took a photo with my brother and sister-in-law."

My sister-in-law later felt it was a great pity.

Such an expensive dress was ruined after just one wear.

Only one full-body photo remains.

Zhou Lie's face changed drastically, and he frantically cried out that he was innocent:

"I saw Lin Yiyun at the banquet that day and almost mistook her for your sister-in-law. She looked so much like her. She was wearing a white sleeveless dress at the time."

My sister-in-law is a conservative person, and when choosing a dress, she deliberately avoided styles that exposed her chest, shoulders, or back.

"Would Lin Yiyun wear an outdated dress to a banquet?"

Tang Li had doubts about this.

Zhou Lie admitted: "When she first went there, she was wearing a red fishtail dress. Later, she accidentally spilled red wine on her dress, so she went to change into another one."
