Wu Dan nervously pushed up his glasses and whispered his name and special skills.

When it was Ye Feng's turn, he did not get up.

He participated in this operation entirely for Wu Dan's sake.

"Ye Feng." He said succinctly.

Someone muttered under their breath, "What are you pretending for?"

Ye Feng heard it, but he couldn't be bothered to pay attention.

He didn't care what these people thought.

Wu Feifei turned on the projector and began to introduce the case.

"This mission involves a large telecom fraud gang. Our task is to infiltrate the gang and obtain key evidence."

As Ye Feng listened to Wu Feifei's introduction, he had a vague feeling that something was wrong.

He felt that there seemed to be something else going on with this operation.

Why must Wu Dan be included?

With the existing technical capabilities of the Ministry of Security, is it not enough to handle this?

A photo of a young man appeared on the PowerPoint presentation.

When Wu Dan saw the photo, his face turned deathly pale.

"Lan Zihao?"

His voice trembled as he muttered incredulously.

Wu Feifei pointed to the photo and said, "This person is the key figure we're looking for, Lan Zihao. After dropping out of school, he became the infamous Centipede in the hacker circle, specializing in programming and maintaining the fraud gang."

Upon hearing the word "centipede," Wu Dan completely broke down.

He suddenly stood up and stumbled out of the conference room.

Ye Feng immediately followed him out.

"Leave Wu Dan's matter to me."

Wu Feifei frowned slightly as she watched Ye Feng's retreating figure: "Mr. Ye, Wu Dan's situation is special. You must do a good job of persuading him. This operation cannot have any mistakes."

"I know."

Ye Feng left without turning his head, uttering just two words.

Wu Feifei and Chen Yiyi exchanged a glance.

It seems there really is a story between Wu Dan and that centipede.

Outside the meeting room, Wu Dan huddled in a corner of the corridor, his body trembling slightly.

Ye Feng did not rush forward immediately, but stood not far away, quietly giving him time to calm down.

Chen Yiyi followed her out.

Ye Feng frowned slightly: "What are you doing here?"

Chen Yiyi pouted: "I'm afraid you can't handle it. Psychological problems are easier for women to solve."

Ye Feng scoffed, "Who do you think you are, woman?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Yiyi immediately flew into a rage.

She stood on tiptoe and stomped hard on Ye Feng's foot.

Ye Feng's face darkened in pain: "Ouch—Are you crazy?!"

Chen Yiyi increased the force, a smug smile on her face.

"Serves you right! You asked for it! Watch your mouth!"

Ye Feng bent over in pain, preparing to retaliate, but Wu Dan's voice rang out at that moment.

"Mr. Ye, do you have any cigarettes?"

Upon seeing this, Chen Yiyi immediately gave Ye Feng a wink.

Hurry up!

Ye Feng muttered under his breath, "You just wait!"

Then he took out a cigarette and walked towards Wu Dan.

Chen Yiyi was in a great mood seeing Ye Feng's discomfiture.

Wu Dan took the cigarette, lit it with trembling hands, took a deep drag, but was choked and coughed violently.

“Wu Dan, keeping it bottled up like this isn’t a solution. If you’re unhappy about something, just say it.”

Ye Feng handed over the cigarette in his hand, trying to soften his tone.

Wu Dan looked up, his hands still trembling slightly.

"Mr. Ye, they were all saying that Lan Zihao is a centipede... Do you... do you think it's possible?"

Ye Feng patted him on the shoulder.

"Since the Ministry of State Security summoned you, they must have sufficient evidence. But don't worry too much, let's wait until the investigation is complete before making any decisions."

Wu Dan bit his lip, as if he had made up his mind.

"Lan Zihao and I are not only classmates, but also roommates. We started a business together and went through a lot together. I don't believe he would be a centipede."

“I’ve decided to help. First, I want to clear his name. Second, if he really is… I will try to persuade him to turn over a new leaf.”

Chen Yiyi walked over unnoticed, arms crossed, her tone provocative.

"Persuade him to repent and reform? What if he really is a centipede? What would you do?"

Ye Feng glared at her.

This woman, she always brings up the most sensitive topics!

Wu Dan's expression was firm. "I will persuade him to turn himself in and try to get leniency."

Chen Yiyi gave a soft snort and turned back to the conference room.

She thought Wu Dan was too naive.

Wu Dan went to the restroom to wash his face and then returned to the conference room.

Ye Feng was walking at the back, and just as he was about to enter, he was stopped by someone.

It was that burly man who started picking a fight as soon as he entered the meeting room.

Ye Feng recognized him; his name was Xia Dong.

"What's up?" Ye Feng raised an eyebrow.

Xia Dong looked Ye Feng up and down and warned him.

"Don't be too arrogant. If I wanted to mess with you, it would only take a minute."

Ye Feng found it all very strange.

"This is our first meeting, right? Why are you so prejudiced against me? Could it be... that you like Chen Yiyi?"

Xia Dong's face turned red instantly.

"No...no! I was just worried you'd delay the operation!"

Ye Feng smiled.

"Don't worry, I'm taken. My girlfriend is much prettier than Chen Yiyi."

Xia Dong visibly breathed a sigh of relief.

Before Ye Feng entered the conference room, he turned back and added, "Who would like a tomboy like Chen Yiyi?"

Xia Dong stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to say.

The meeting continued.

Chen Yiyi's eyes kept darting towards Ye Feng.

Ye Feng felt extremely uneasy, wondering if he and Chen Yiyi were incompatible according to their birth charts.

This woman looks at me like I'm her enemy.
