Seeing Jiang Yining's dazed look, he thought she was frightened, so he asked in a relieved tone, "Are you okay?"
There were people watching the fun in the cafe. Jiang Yining didn't want to stay here. She forced a smile and said, "I'm fine. Thank you for today. I have something to go back home for. You go ahead and do your work."
He Chi walked up from behind her. She didn't see He Chi when she first went up to the second floor of the cafe.
The place is not big, and he probably heard her conversation with Mr. Chen.
Jiang Yining never thought that she would meet He Chi again after two years when she was in such an embarrassing situation.
Compared to Jiang Yining's inner panic, He Chi seemed much calmer. "It just so happens that I have nothing to do. I'll take you home."
Jiang Yining wanted to refuse, but when he saw He Chi following him, he took back his refusal.
In the car, Jiang Yining was sitting in the passenger seat. She didn't want to come for a blind date today, but her father was so annoying that she had to come to deal with it. She didn't dress up, just picked some clothes to change into and went out.
Her slender white fingers quietly tugged at the hem of her clothes.
When He Chi asked her for the address, Jiang Yining said, "Jingli Community, Pingsheng Road."
He Chi and Jiang Yining seldom spent time together, and he himself was not a very outgoing person. Seeing that she lowered her eyes and didn't really want to talk to him, he simply remained silent.
Jiang Yining had a thin layer of sweat on her palms. She rarely spent time alone with He Chi, and she was so nervous that she didn't know what to do.
She raised her eyes and pretended to look casually at He Chi, only to see his slender, bony hands resting on the steering wheel, with shallow blue veins winding around them, exuding a sense of power.
He Chi seemed to have paid no attention to her at all. Jiang Yining bravely raised her eyes and saw his cold and hard profile.
Just as they reached the traffic light, He Chi turned around.
Jiang Yining reacted quickly, smiling, "I heard from Teacher Lin that you and your friends were working out of town. Why are you back?"
He Chi tapped the steering wheel lightly with his fingers, his tone casual, "I got tired of that fast-paced life, so I went back to Lincheng and opened a bar with my high school classmates to have some fun."
"The bar is over at Jiayu Square. Come over and sit down if you have time."
Jiang Yining was a well-behaved student when she was in school, and her mother loved her very much.
Worried that Jiang Yining might misunderstand, He Chi even explained, "It's a Qing bar. The customers are all drinking and chatting with friends. It's called Shiyou."
Jiang Yining was a little surprised, but she could understand. He Chi had always lived a reckless and flamboyant life, which was completely different from her orderly life.
She smiled slightly and said, "Okay, I'll bring some friends over to support you when I have time, and take in the atmosphere."
In the past, Jiang Yining always kept a distance from him whenever they met, and they were not very familiar with each other, so He Chi just took it as her polite words.
Arriving at the gate of the community, Jiang Yining thanked He Chi, "I'm here, thank you for taking me back."
Jiang Yining paused and said softly, "I'm sorry to bother you today."
He Chi could see that Jiang Yining was not very willing to go on today's blind date. He didn't know much about her family situation. He only knew that her father remarried after her mother passed away.
After Jiang Yining finished speaking, he said, "You're welcome. If there's anything you need my help with in the future, just let me know. After all, we're all acquaintances."
Jiang Yining gave him a faint smile and said, "Thank you."
After getting off the car, she watched He Chi's car drive away before turning around and walking into the community.
The moment he turned back to the community, the smile on Jiang Yining's face disappeared, and his eyes gradually became colder and firmer. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
