After the party, Special Assistant Yan approached Song Xingjin, clutching his stomach and saying in agony, "Mr. Song, I don't know why my stomach suddenly hurts so badly."
Song Xingjin looked at him for a moment before he said, "You go back first."
"Thank you, Mr. Song."
Zhang Qiao watched him running very fast before he even left Song Xingjin's sight. He was completely different from the one who was unable to get up because of the stomach "pain" just now.
The senior sister arranged for the drunk female colleague to go home.
Zhang Qiao was originally going to pay the bill, but Song Xingjin stopped her and said, "I'll do it."
Zhang Qiao refused, "Boss Song, it's not good to let Party A pay the bill. Let me do it."
Song Xingjin, relying on his long arms, handed the QR code directly to the bar cashier. He stared at her with emotionless eyes and said, "Zhang Qiao, do you think Party A will come to the bar with you?"
He looked at her with a sense of oppression, and Zhang Qiao avoided his sight somewhat at a loss.
She understood what Song Xingjin said. Was this a disguised confession?
Before leaving the bar, Zhang Qiao had the misfortune to meet her ex-boyfriend whom she hated.
He saw her and said, "Zhang Qiao? Coming to the bar alone again?"
Zhang Qiao glanced at the woman next to him. She seemed to look different from the last time. She smiled slightly and said, "Oh, you changed your girlfriend again?"
His girlfriend angrily pulled his ear and asked, "Who is she? And what do you mean by changing girlfriends again? How many girlfriends have you had?"
After they walked away, Zhang Qiao wanted to look back at Song Xingjin who was walking behind her, but before she turned around, someone suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Zhang Qiao sighed and asked with a frown, "Song Xingjin, where are you taking me?"
He wasn't walking fast, probably trying to accommodate her pace.
Song Xingjin took her to a place far away from the downtown area and turned into an old street where there were almost no people walking around at night.
The street was very small, and Song Xingjin placed his hands on both sides of Zhang Qiao's body, keeping her within his control.
He lowered his head, raised his hand and pinched her chin to lift it up so that she could look at him.
Zhang Qiao hadn't recovered from her shock yet, and she swallowed nervously, "Song Xingjin..."
She wanted to ask Song Xingjin what he was trying to do.
Before she could finish her words, she heard Song Xingjin say, "Zhang Qiao, I like you. Can you like me again?"
Song Xingjin lowered his head and was so close to her that Zhang Qiao could even feel his increasingly heavy breathing.
She smelled the clean and refreshing scent on him, and raised her eyes to meet Song Xingjin's. He still looked calm and composed.
But the uneasiness in his eyes betrayed him.
This was the first time Song Xingjin was so anxiously waiting for someone's answer.
He hadn't said it directly before, so Zhang Qiao could still pretend to be confused, but at this moment, she had to think seriously about it.
When they were just chatting casually in the past, she didn't need to put any effort into it because she didn't really like them, but Song Xingjin was an exception.
Zhang Qiao moved her lips and said, "No."
She said, "Song Xingjin, I confessed my feelings to you before and was rejected. It took me some time to come to terms with it and clear my mind. I've let it go. And, you know me, I don't want to get married."
"Your grandma is still looking forward to you getting married. I can't delay you. I'm sorry."
After saying that, Zhang Qiao pushed his hand away and ran away.
Song Xingjin's face was gloomy and frightening. His jaw was tense as he stared at the direction Zhang Qiao left in the night until her figure disappeared from his sight. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
