Just then, cries and screams came from outside.

A woman knelt outside the courtyard gate, tightly embracing a young man.

Along with Zhang Qin and her son, the doctor brought by Chang Xi also came in.

"Show them first."

Section Chief Zhu said to the doctor.

His gaze swept over the two people on the kang (a heated brick bed), then landed on the doctor's face, his expression grave.

The doctor didn't ask any questions and went straight to the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) to examine the two people.

Zhang Qin and her son, who had just entered the room, suddenly knelt down in front of Section Chief Zhu with a "thump".
