Chapter 202 What Did He Turn into? (Bonus Chapter for Donations - End of Volume 1)

After making up my mind, the afternoon became extremely busy.

First, Joanna told her husband Edward about it.

Edward listened as if to a fairy tale, "Wait!"

"The Duke and Duchess are getting a divorce???"

"Didn't their relationship improve?"

Joanna stood on tiptoe and tugged at her husband's ear. "Is this the time to talk about this?"

Edward: "..."

Joanna: "Go to the West Forest first and quietly inform the tree spirits and the Golden Knight..."

Edward looked at his wife, seemingly wanting to say something but holding back.

Joanna frowned slightly. "What's wrong?"

Edward: "Even when I was a Silver Knight, I felt that Mr. Conrad was extraordinary."

“I am now the Golden Knight, and my intuition tells me that Mr. Conrad is extremely dangerous.”

Joanna: "?"

Edward: "What I mean is, our actions can't be kept secret. Perhaps His Highness... I mean, the Duke already knows."

Just then, the door to the room was suddenly pushed open.

The housekeeper, Mrs. Catherine, came in.

She placed her hands together, three centimeters above her navel, which was a very proper royal etiquette.

Upon entering, the housekeeper merely gave the tense Edward and his wife a cold glance.

"Constantinople has no need for traitors."

"Your Highness does not need a wife who is fickle and opportunistic."

Joanna was furious and wanted to retort, but her husband covered her mouth.

Edward's forehead was covered in cold sweat. "Madam, you mean...?"

Catherine said coldly, "You should pack your things and leave now."

"I will help you stop Conrad."

Edward let out a breath. "Yes, madam."

After saying that, he picked up his wife, who was kicking and stomping wildly, and turned to leave.

Edward didn't put his wife down until he reached Ellie's study.

Joanna's 'Madame Pompeii' hairstyle was all disheveled. (Note 1)

"What's wrong?"

Li Aili is writing a breakup letter to the Duke.

Ironically, they first met because of that prank-like note.

This time, the breakup really happened, and it happened in this way.

The Duke's obsession with his face had reached an appalling level.

She didn't want to hear his explanation.

Without the ability to read minds, how can she distinguish between truth and falsehood?

Most importantly...

A drop of ink fell from the quill pen, landing precisely on the first three words, "dear".

It's like a joke played by the goddess of fate; those three words I habitually wrote down now seem inappropriate.

Li Aili calmly threw away the discarded letter paper.

I rewrote a letter.

The title was written as 'His Excellency the Duke of Cold Emerald'.

Edward relayed Lady Catherine's words to Ellie.

He took a deep breath. "That lady gives me a more dangerous feeling."

The room was filled with the "swish, swish, swish" sound of quill pens gliding across parchment.

Li Aili stopped writing. "That's normal. She's Medusa."

Edwards and his wife: "!!!"

Joanna's face turned pale with fright. "Is it...is it one of those evil creatures sung about by bards?"

Li Aili did not answer. She calmly put down her pen and wrote the last few lines:

I hope you will keep your promise and fulfill the treaty you have.

Let's part amicably and leave each other with beautiful memories.

[Left by Li Aili]

She is no longer Li Aili Cold Jade, nor Li Aili Nice, but simply Li Aili.

“Alright, Edward, come here, let’s take my gold coins.”

"Joanna, go to the West Forest and inform the tree spirits and the Sphinx."

"Meet me at the alchemy shop in central city in half an hour."

After saying that, Li Aili took off the dragon gemstone necklace from her neck and placed it on the sealed envelope on the table.

By the time she finished writing the letter, Li Aili had returned to her normal height.

She strolled out of the study, glancing around at its furnishings before leaving.

On the chair was a pink woolen cushion that her troublesome eldest apprentice had insisted on giving her.

The table is decorated with various cute little ornaments, including a complete set of seven porcelain cat figurines.

Li Aili sighed softly, having no desire to take these odds and ends with her.

If the Duke doesn't want to see these things, then throw them away.

It's not worth much anyway.

Li Aili went to the study.

Li Ai Li opened the door to the alchemy room right in front of Edward.

Edward didn't say anything, he just silently carried the box full of gold coins and piled it into the alchemy room behind the door.

The Golden Knight carried the box, weighing several hundred pounds, as if it were a feather pillow.

In just ten minutes, they emptied Li Aili's secret stash.

After finishing, Li Aili said directly, "You take me and the others to the central city first, I have some things to take care of."

Fearing Lady Catherine, Edward hesitated whether to stay and protect Ellie.

Li Aili said, "Don't worry. If she wanted to hurt me, she would have done it already."

"It won't tie Conrad down, giving us an opportunity to leave."

"I'll go retrieve the storage ring, put it on the letter, and then I'll leave."

She had no intention of taking any of the gifts the Duke had given her.

Edward pursed his lips and punched his chest.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot."

Li Aili took out a bag of gold coins, which contained about three hundred gold coins.

"Go buy a few carriages. Don't buy me anything luxurious or comfortable, just buy some that are good value for money and can seat all of us."
