Chapter 616 Female Rebirth Chapter: The Little Fox Has Left

Yu Jingchen noticed Nan Zhiyun's concerns, stood up, and picked her up from her seat. Nan Zhiyun's heart tightened, and she softened her breathing.

"Hold me," Yu Jingchen said to Nan Zhiyun, who was somewhat bewildered.

"Neck, hug my neck." Yu Jingchen repeated.

"Me? He just referred to himself as 'me'." Nan Zhiyun was still hesitant, feeling bewildered by Yu Jingchen's actions.

Yu Jingchen sighed helplessly, "Can't you lift your arms? Hold me, or you'll fall and I won't be responsible for you."

Nan Zhiyun couldn't hesitate any longer, but... just as Nan Zhiyun was still struggling with her own feelings, Yu Jingchen loosened his grip, and Nan Zhiyun almost fell down.

Instinctively, Nan Zhiyun hugged Yu Jingchen's neck, her heart pounding wildly.

"See, I've got him in my arms, isn't that hard? I told you, if I don't hold him, he'll fall and I won't be responsible." Yu Jingchen's tone... why does it sound a little smug?

"Is it uncomfortable to be held like this?" Yu Jingchen was afraid that she would feel uncomfortable, but Nan Zhiyun shook her head after hearing this.

"That's fine then," Yu Jingchen said without asking any further questions. He simply added, "Now that you've heard it all, let's go. Today's story was just a tale, so don't overthink it, understand?" Yu Jingchen added a reminder.

Nan Zhiyun pursed her lips and didn't answer, which made Yu Jingchen unhappy: "Don't think nonsense, or you're finished. If you're as stupid as this fox in the future, I'll crack your head open and see what kind of rotten mud is inside, understand?" Yu Jingchen continued.

Nan Zhiyun lowered her head, remaining silent. Like this little fox—what? Was it the same love, or a departure?

Yu Jingchen didn't receive a response from Nan Zhiyun, and he was somewhat displeased, but ultimately said nothing. He was in a bad mood, so he let her calm down. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal; with him there, such a thing wouldn't happen…

He carried Nan Zhiyun away from the teahouse. Nan Zhiyun was wearing a veil, which made her movements a little difficult. When they got downstairs, she thought Yu Jingchen would carry her to the carriage, but he didn't.

"The carriage is no longer needed." Yu Jingchen walked directly past the carriage. Nan Zhiyun was puzzled. She wanted to ask, but she didn't know how to ask.

"What do you want to ask?" Yu Jingchen keenly sensed it.

"Where are we going? Aren't we... going back?" Nan Zhiyun asked cautiously.

"Where to? To sell you." Yu Jingchen replied naturally.

Nan Zhiyun: "..." She suddenly had a strange feeling, unsure whether she should say it or not.

"Yesterday, Xinglai told me that your father is returning to the capital tomorrow." Yu Jingchen's topic shifted quite quickly. Nan Zhiyun was stunned when she heard this. Her father was returning to the capital?

"Your Majesty..." Nan Zhiyun was about to speak, but Yu Jingchen stopped her.

"Don't mention it, just be obedient." Yu Jingchen's words cut off Nan Zhiyun's words that were about to be spoken.

Nan Zhiyun shut her mouth and obediently said nothing more, but her mind had already wandered far away. Yu Jingchen carried Nan Zhiyun, not knowing where they were going, and finally stopped at a small clinic.

Nan Zhiyun was stunned when she saw this. Why were they here? Yu Jingchen had no intention of explaining. He picked up Nan Zhiyun and went inside. The waiter inside saw this and came over to greet them.

"Let me check her foot injury. It seems a bit more swollen than yesterday. She's pregnant and has been taking some blood-activating medication. Although the dosage is controlled, her pregnancy isn't very stable, so I'm worried it might still have some impact. That's why I came to check on her." Yu Jingchen explained his purpose, then picked up Nan Zhiyun and put her down.

The doctor came over to take Nan Zhiyun's pulse. Nan Zhiyun was completely bewildered. Was it just to take her pulse?

Meanwhile, Xinglai outside finally understood why His Majesty had asked him to find some well-known clinics. It turned out it was all because of Consort Shu.

"Her health has always been poor, could we perhaps try to improve it?" Yu Jingchen asked.

"This lady's health is a bit weak, and this pregnancy... might be a little difficult, but as long as she rests well, there shouldn't be any major problems. As for her foot injury, it's not a big issue. If she can't use those medications, just apply cold water and ice packs frequently, use a small amount of medication, rest more, and avoid moving around unnecessarily," the doctor said.

"When will it be better?" Yu Jingchen asked again.

"She needs at least half a month of rest, and... Madam is feeling down, so she should try to relax more often, as this will be beneficial for the baby's development," the doctor continued.

Yu Jingchen looked at Nan Zhiyun. She had too many things on her mind. How long would it take to let her go of some of them?

"Is there anything else on your body that's bothering you?" Yu Jingchen asked her.

Nan Zhiyun shook her head. No, apart from her foot injury, she actually felt fine. It was just... her hand touched her stomach, the baby inside... perhaps because Yu Jingchen had mentioned it a lot lately, and always intentionally or unintentionally reminded her of it, stirring up the feelings in her heart, so now she actually felt a little reluctant to part with this child.

She'd done so much lately just to save this child. If it really were gone… Nan Zhiyun's hand tightened. Why was she hesitating?

Yu Jingchen saw Nan Zhiyun's dilemma, but wasn't this the right thing to do? She was a soft-hearted person to begin with; how could she truly be indifferent to her own child? After a while, she would naturally start to feel reluctant... Once she had the child, other things would probably be much simpler, right?
