A sudden global human昏迷 lasting three days occurred. Three days later, one-third of the awakened humans mutated into another species that only eats the flesh and blood of their own kind.
Anim...
Ignoring her brother who was standing there dumbfounded, Zhou Lerui picked up a machete from the ground and rushed to support Peng Yu.
Peng Yu's machete had disappeared while he was dodging the mutated gorilla, so he pulled his younger brother along and kept placing earthen shields to block the zombies.
After unleashing a powerful spatial blade, Peng Ze went into idle mode, letting his brother drag him around to dodge and weave.
Shen Youan, along with Yao Yao and Sun Youmei, hid behind a large rock and luckily escaped being discovered.
She gripped her Tang sword tightly to guard against a sudden zombie attack. Yao Yao and Sun Youmei huddled together, covering their mouths, afraid of being discovered by the monsters.
The zombie smashed through the earthen wall that Peng Yu was blocking in front of him once again. He desperately wanted to grab the fresh, bloody flesh swaying in front of him, to tear them apart, and to swallow them all.
But little did it know that someone behind it also wanted to kill it.
"Ah! Take this!" Zhou Lerui roared and swung her knife, severing half of the zombie's body with great force.
"Ho ho!" The zombie let out a painful roar, its upper body still struggling to pounce on the person in front of it.
"Clang!" With another slash, Zhou Lerui sent it to its final resting place.
Xia Feng released a lightning ball that blew the zombie's head off, and the last zombie was dealt with.
Zhou Li, his mother, and his younger brother were bitten to death by novice zombies on the spot.
Zhou Wen struggled to his feet and staggered toward his father's body.
His stomach was ripped open, and his internal organs spilled out. He collapsed and died before he could even reach his father's side.
The young woman held her husband's body and wept bitterly.
The mother of the girl named Zhenzhen, whose head had just been bitten off by the mutated gorilla, was also slapped to death on the ground.
Zhao Zheng slumped to the ground, pressing the wound on his arm.
Du Mingliang, holding Zhuangzhuang, gasped for breath as he looked at the horrific scene before him.
It feels like just yesterday I was playing ball with Zhou Wen and Zhao Zheng, running around like crazy. Now Zhou Wen is dead, and Zhao Zheng has been bitten by a zombie; I wonder if he'll turn into one.
Is this the end of the world? The person who was laughing and joking with you one second can become a corpse the next.
This is too cruel. Du Mingliang was in a daze with tears streaming down his face. Was he dreaming? This dream was so long. Why couldn't he wake up?
Zhou Xinran counted the number of people on their side, and thankfully, there were no casualties.
Only then did they notice Zhao Zheng, who had been bitten, sitting blankly not far away.
"Xiao Ze, quickly get the healing medicine." Zhou Xinran grabbed Peng Ze and left, but Peng Ze was still AFK and didn't react at all.
"I have medicine in my storage space." Lin Xuan quickly took out medical iodine and gauze rolls and followed.
Zhou Xinran knelt down and took Zhao Zheng's hand, then froze.
Zhao Zheng's entire forearm was torn apart, exposing the bone. The skin on his upper arm turned blue and was covered with purple lines that extended to half of his face.
"Brother Zhou, will I turn into a zombie?" Zhao Zheng asked, choking back tears. Not long ago, he had given Zhou Xinran two gold bars as payment for storing the vehicles.
This boy is warm, cheerful, and sensible. If it weren't for the apocalypse, he would have become a very successful child that his parents would be proud to show off to everyone.
"No, I'll disinfect it for you. We superhumans won't turn into zombies." Zhou Xinran held back his tears and carefully cleaned the area around the wound with the iodine that Lin Xuan handed him, then carefully wrapped it with gauze several times.
"Really? Superpowered people really won't turn into zombies? That's great! I haven't found my mom and dad yet. I don't want to die. Brother Zhou, I'm scared..." Zhao Zheng was a little unsteady, and Zhou Xinran helped him find a place to lean on.
Lin Xuan immediately moved a beanbag chair out of the space for him to lean on.
Zhao Zheng was turning into a zombie very quickly. In just a short while, his entire face had turned bluish-purple, and his breathing became heavy.
He murmured, "I don't want to die, I don't want to become a zombie, Mom and Dad, Mom and Dad..." Tears streamed down his face, and his pupils began to contract.
Zhou Xinran gripped his hand tightly, his fingernails already growing long and sharp, tears streaming down his face. "Zheng, we won't die, we won't die..."
Zhao Zheng suddenly sprang up and twitched a few times. When he opened his eyes again, his pupils had shrunk to a small dot. "Ha!" Zhao Zheng roared. He had completely turned into a zombie.
"Pfft!" The invisible vine struck Zhao Zheng's forehead, leaving a black blood hole. Zhao Zheng opened his eyes wide and calmed down.
Zhou Xinran reached out and closed his eyes, squatted down and cried a few suppressed sobs. After a while, he casually wiped his face and stood up.
Xia Feng, who was standing next to Lin Xuan, went over and patted his shoulder to comfort him silently.
The survivors gathered the bodies together, and Peng Yu used his earth-based abilities to create a large pit, placing the bodies inside to bury them.
Besides Du Mingliang and Zhuangzhuang, Zhou Li's group consisted of five people: the young woman, a man around fifty years old, and an elderly woman who was Du Mingliang's neighbor.
When Zhuangzhuang saw his father, second uncle, and grandmother being buried, he finally realized what was happening and burst into tears.
Du Mingliang held his chubby little body and wept uncontrollably. They were both orphans now, how were they going to live in the future?
The group picked up their weapons, tidied themselves up, and continued on their way.
Zhou Xinran decided to escort the five survivors to the base, and no one objected.
Zhou Lerui remained silent, which was unusual for her. She obediently followed behind her brother and helped clear the weeds along the roadside.
The atmosphere was somber, and everyone felt as if a stone was pressing on their hearts.
The group finally emerged from the bushes and turned onto a small road leading to the national highway, where they could now drive.
Lin Xuan and Peng Ze let the car out, and Zhou Lerui and Peng Ze didn't come to Xia Feng's place to hitch a ride.
