"Peng Xiaozhe!" Lin Xuan called out and dragged Xia Feng over.

Peng Ze was actually awake; he remained lying down, only turning his head towards Lin Xuan.

"Peng Xiaozhe, why are you... sleeping here..."

Lin Xuan was really at a loss for words. Everyone was so anxiously looking for him, and Zhou Lerui was even scratched by a zombie and almost died, while the person they were looking for was lying leisurely in a pile of corpses.

Peng Ze remained silent, gazing innocently at Lin Xuan, while Peng Yu lay unconscious beside him.

But when they stopped moving, the ancient tree seemed to come alive.

The branches moved swiftly without wind, and the lily of the valley flowers wrapped around the tree even collided with each other, making a jarring tinkling sound.

The arms of the strange plant zombies in the ancient alley were also stirring restlessly. They undulated and stretched out gently, ready to launch a massive attack as soon as they approached.

Xia Feng and Peng Yu stood in front and behind, protecting Lin Xuan and Peng Ze in the middle.

Xia Feng took the lead, showing no fear of the obstacle formed by the intertwined arms of the zombies. He threw a ball of lightning, which exploded with a loud bang, creating a gap.

Everyone quickly escaped through the gap.

However, the ancient tree behind them moved even more violently, its roots carrying the corpses as it swam towards them.

The lily of the valley blossoms on the tree slammed against the tree even more violently, the piercing sound making their eardrums ache and their heads buzz.

Why did the quiet ancient trees suddenly unleash an attack on them by all the plants in the town?

As Lin Xuan ran, she wondered if there was something about them that was attracting her.

The mutant plants and ancient trees that he and his brother had encountered along the way were all calm until they took Peng Ze and Peng Yu away.

Could it be that they possess something?

"Peng Xiaozhe, quickly throw away what you're holding!" Peng Yu had obviously thought of this as well.

Peng Ze had been holding something in his arms the whole time, but Lin Xuan hadn't seen it clearly.

All the plants froze for a moment.

Peng Ze was still in a desperate attempt to save him, but Peng Yu didn't care. He grabbed Peng Ze by the back of the neck and ran off with Xia Feng and the other man.

However, a moment later, the entire town trembled as if it had been enraged.

The roots of the ancient tree were completely exposed from the ground, and the corpses hanging on them all came to life, their dark mouths howling in the direction the group had fled.

The lily of the valley buds burst open one after another with a series of popping sounds, releasing white smoke that quickly spread around them.

A pungent, fishy odor quickly filled the air; inhaling it for too long would make one dizzy and disoriented.

"Holy crap, what's that smell? It's so pungent!" Peng Yu's eyes were watering from the stench, and he had to activate the earthen wall to block the zombie's arm that was grabbing at him.

Xia Feng and Lin Xuan were in no better shape; both of them had tears on their faces and looked extremely disheveled.

"This can't go on, brother, let's go back and blow that ancient tree up!"

Lin Xuan was furious about the situation. It seemed that the ancient tree was controlling the zombies and plants in the town. Instead of running away aimlessly, she should deal with the culprit.

Lin Xuan suddenly had a bold plan in her mind.

Her idea was very simple: first, the invisible vines would guide the energy inside the ancient tree out, and then let that energy explode, killing the ancient tree.

They just need to hide in the space at the moment of the explosion.

Xia Feng felt that her plan was still a bit dangerous. He was worried that if Lin Xuan didn't hide in the space in time, she might get injured by the explosion.
