Bai Xizhu only survived three years in the apocalypse before she died. Returning to before the apocalypse, she accidentally activated a portable space, which came with ancient mythical beasts from ...
"Daughter-in-law, come quick! It's a zombie!"
As the base commander spoke, purple lightning overflowed from his hand, which he hurled without hesitation at the zombie in front of him.
The purple lightning wasn't intense; it was enough to deal with ordinary zombies.
Bai Xizhu caught a glimpse of the purple lightning out of the corner of her eye. Her fingers moved quickly, and the female zombie holding the zombie baby swayed, barely dodging the lightning attack.
Lightning struck a tree in the distance, snapping it in half.
"These are actually our zombies."
Bai Xizhu quickly explained to the base leader.
The female zombie and the zombie baby have quite a connection with the Bai family; even their names were given to them by the Bai family, so they can be considered zombies themselves.
"Our own zombies?"
The base commander's lips twitched violently as he looked at the zombie baring its teeth at him.
He gained a deeper understanding of the Bai family.
Making friends with the Zombie King doesn't seem like a big deal, since the Zombie King has self-awareness and looks no different from a human.
The base commander could completely understand this, and he didn't think it was strange to have a zombie king friend.
But how did the Bai family become friends with these snarling, rotting zombies who have no self-awareness?
Are they trying to communicate by yelling and shouting at each other?
The base commander suddenly felt that his ideological awareness might be a bit low.
"Yes! See the zombie baby in its arms? Its name is Asagao, and my mom and grandma helped deliver it!"
At this point, Bai Xizhu showed a hint of pride.
Were our family probably the first human family to deliver a baby for a zombie?
"...delivery?"
The base commander's worldview became chaotic again, his eyes fixed on the zombie baby in the female zombie's arms.
The tiny zombie baby didn't have teeth yet, and its skin had rotting flesh just like that of a regular zombie.
Upon closer inspection, one can see that there is a lot of rotting flesh on its body, especially where it came into contact with the female zombie, where black blood was constantly seeping out.
A baby's skin is delicate and can easily be injured if bumped or touched. The female zombie doesn't know how to take care of a baby, and even with her maternal instincts, her stiff limbs prevent her from properly caring for the zombie baby.
Therefore, the rotting flesh and blood on a zombie baby are even more horrifying than those on a female zombie.
In some places, even the white bones were exposed.
It's really unfair to this zombie baby.
Look at the size of this zombie baby; it's about the size of a newborn infant.
Since Bai Xizhu's family helped deliver the zombie baby, it must have been born from a zombie.
"It's over."
The base commander slapped his forehead, a worried look on his face.
Even zombies can give birth to babies now, will this world ever ever have any peace?!
It's never going to end.
Zombies will never disappear.
"roar--"
The female zombie didn't care what the base chief was thinking. Holding the baby, she hissed at the base chief and took two steps toward him.
The strong smell of blood and flesh permeating its nostrils made it almost unable to control its behavior.
It's been a long time since I've tasted human flesh and blood.
His blank eyes glanced at Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai, then he slowly took a step back.
With an angry and twisted expression on its face, unwilling to give up its flesh and blood, it took two more steps forward.
But his dull eyes glanced at Bai Xi and Zhu again, and he took another step back.
This process is repeated.
"It must remember us."
Bai Xizhu smiled gently as she watched the female zombie's behavior, finding it rather cute, like a silly little thing.
In other words, Bai Xizhu finds the female zombie's behavior cute, but if Bai Yifan were here, running away would be the normal thing to do.
"Um."
Leng Yebai gave a soft "hmm" and took two steps toward Bai Xizhu.
The female zombie doesn't seem to have completely controlled her behavior yet, so it's best to be careful.
The Taotie stared in surprise at the baby in the female zombie's arms, even making a funny face as it teased the infant.
"roar--"
The zombie baby didn't give the Taotie any face. Instead, it roared at it, its mask becoming more and more distorted, its mouth almost stretching to its ears.
"Hey, this little guy is quite cute! Master, can I take him home as my little brother?"
Taotie thought the zombie baby's hideous face was comparable to his own; they were practically identical.
Taking him back as a lackey would definitely be cool.
I'm so envious of Qin Yuan and Shui Hui!
"cannot!"
Bai Xizhu refused outright.
This isn't about raising zombies; it's about stealing someone else's child.
Whether zombies or humans, no one should fight over someone else's child; this is the most basic morality.
"All right!"
Taotie was slightly disappointed and could only stare longingly at the zombie baby with a look of...love.
The base commander scratched his head vigorously, feeling that he was too outdated and couldn't keep up with his daughter-in-law's family!
This idea, this situation, even if you dug his head out, rearranged it, and put it back in, he still couldn't come up with it!
Who would want to raise a zombie baby as a henchman?
The base commander looked up at the sky. Normally, if he saw a zombie baby being born, he would definitely worry unnecessarily and destroy both the zombie and its mother.
Consider it saving humanity!
But now that the daughter-in-law says the zombie baby was delivered by the Bai family, the atmosphere has become somewhat awkward.
He simply couldn't bring himself to do it!
It's not that I'm being soft-hearted.
She was afraid that in the future, Leng Yebai would abandon his old father and not take care of him in his old age, leaving her to be a live-in son-in-law all by herself, without him to play with!
