Bai Xizhu only survived three years in the apocalypse before she died. Returning to before the apocalypse, she accidentally activated a portable space, which came with ancient mythical beasts from ...
The sun hung high in the sky.
The temperature is still unbearably hot today.
However, this was the most terrifying day for all the survivors.
All the zombies were emitting screams that drove the survivors to despair, sounds even more terrifying than the sound of them rushing over and attacking flesh and blood.
The sun was visible to the naked eye, but the sunlight was not dazzling, and a hazy gray substance could be vaguely seen in the sky.
The weather didn't get cooler; it just felt even more muggy.
All the zombies stopped in their tracks, roaring like ferocious beasts.
They didn't pounce on the flesh and blood in front of them, as if they were suddenly overcome with grief and didn't even have time to savor the delicious food.
Even so, the survivors, who were being chased by the zombies, did not have the courage to turn around and deliver a fatal blow to them.
The piercing, mournful cries are more likely to drive people to despair; being able to quickly leave the vicinity of the zombies is already a good outcome.
Some brave people, seeing the zombies stop and wail, picked up their knives and swung them at the zombies' heads.
Blood plasma rupture.
Not a single zombie resisted, nor did any rush towards the flesh and blood. They used all the strength in their chests to desperately release their first inexplicable sorrow towards the sky.
It wasn't just the free-roaming zombies that inexplicably let out mournful cries.
Zombies around the world have stopped hunting, and the sound emanating from their chests is incredibly long and desperate.
Even the zombies in the research institute are like that.
Wang Ge sat on his bed, his face gloomy as he touched his mechanical arm. Hearing the mournful cries of zombies outside, he stood up and walked outside.
Inside the white research institute, all the people wearing white coats stood together, staring in horror at the imprisoned zombies.
I thought they were going to rush out.
However, they did not move; they simply stood still, desperately emitting sounds from their throats that terrified the survivors.
"What happened?"
Wang Ge squinted at a group of people in white coats, his brainwaves already working on the zombies.
Amidst the rampant rage within the zombie's mind, an overwhelming sense of sorrow and grief was added.
This emotion shouldn't have appeared in a zombie's mind, yet it did.
"I don't know what's going on, but all the zombies are acting like they've gone mad, howling desperately, as if... they've lost a loved one."
The person in the white coat subconsciously moved away from the gloomy Wang Ge, and it took a while before someone answered Wang Ge's question.
Wang Ge tried to find the reason for the zombies' wailing in their brainwaves, but he couldn't find any memories. They just had a sad emotion that didn't belong to them.
Wang Ge turned and left, walking further down the long corridor.
Finally, it stopped in front of a room that was entirely made of glass.
Inside the transparent glass room was a standard room similar to that of a regular hotel, with all the daily necessities neatly arranged. The only difference from a hotel room was that there wasn't a single piece of normal furniture inside.
At first glance, the bathroom, wardrobe, and walls are all made of glass.
Wang Ge spotted Captain Zhu sitting on the sofa at a glance.
Captain Zhu was looking down at the moment, so Wang Ge couldn't see what expression was on his face.
"Captain Zhu, what's wrong with the zombies?"
Wang Ge's robotic arm rested on the glass wall and gently scraped it, producing a harsh sound between the machine and the glass.
Ever since Wang Ge had his arm cut off by the base commander, his personality has become even more solitary and rebellious.
However, Wang Ge has not yet seen the current base commander. If he sees that the base commander has also lost an arm, he might feel a little better.
The glass provides excellent sound insulation, and there's a dedicated window that allows you to hear outside sounds.
Captain Zhu kept his head down and heard Wang Ge's voice, but did not respond.
"Congratulations, Captain!"
Wang Ge looked impatient and slammed the glass hard with his mechanical arm, instantly creating several scratches on the glass.
The glass and the robotic arm made a lot of noise.
Captain Zhu slowly raised his head and quietly looked at Wang Ge standing outside the glass.
"Captain Zhu, what's going on?! Why are the zombies suddenly making that sound?!"
Wang Ge had already come up with an answer, a bloodthirsty smile in his eyes.
Besides their unwavering devotion to flesh and blood, the zombies most revere high-ranking zombies.
They unconditionally obey the commands of zombies of higher rank and submit unconditionally to higher-ranking zombies.
Their unconditional obedience means that a unique ruler will inevitably emerge to lead them.
At first, Wang Ge did not understand this principle.
However, after Zhang Yiming appeared in the zombie village and was attacked by zombies commanded by Zhang Yiming several times, Wang Ge finally understood this principle.
Zhang Yiming is that one and only emperor.
Even if Wang Ge's brainwaves are incredibly powerful, the zombies will still obey Zhang Yiming's brainwaves.
Even Captain Zhu, who has the ability to act independently, dared not appear under Zhang Yiming's brainwaves.
Zhang Yiming could effortlessly command Captain Zhu to do anything, even ordering him to extract his own crystal core; Captain Zhu could not disobey this order.
Zombies only have one emotion: bloodlust. If other emotions appear, it signifies the fall or birth of a ruler.
Wang Ge's heart leaped with excitement whenever he thought of this.
